Tuesday Weather

Some of my furriends asked about NZ weather. Our country gets some snow in the winter, especially down south. Where we live it is mostly rain, wind and cold. We are lucky, as generally we would describe our weather as mild. We like to complain about it, but we know how lucky we are after seeing so many floods and snow storms during the Northern Hemisphere winter.

Mum didn't mind going to work in the pouring rain today. She wore her boots and spare pants, scarf, hat and gloves and a big raincoat. By the time work had finished, they were finally dry and she put them back on and came home. Then she had tea and toast, and the heater was on.

Hope you all had a good day, and if you have sunbeams - soak them up.

  2. Our mum spent the winter in New Zealand with her mum and dad in 2006 when dad was overseas. She had to renew her passport, and the first photos she had done were refused because her lips were a bit blue while her cheeks were rosey red. You must be made of tougher stuff! :)

  3. It is still funny to me to look out my window, see sunshine & very HOT weather, yet I know in my mind dat you have winter. But it's still hard to realize cuz we can chat back and forth in a minute or so. I don't kmpw if I'm even making sense, but it kind of blows my mind. I still think of you as being right next door. It's a big world isn't it?

  5. We're having fantastic weather, Poppy, so yes, we'll soak it up.

We can imagine it's not much fun to be soggy (rain) all winter! The west coast of Canada, where our human grandfather lives, is like that--grey skies and cold, damp rain most of the winter. We hate the cold (okay, our human REALLY hates the cold and snow and ice), but at least we get a lot of sunny days most winters.

  8. Stay warm Poppy. Keep Mum warm too. We have some sunbeams, but tomorrow they will be gone. We are expected to get some rain. Our big Open House at school is on Thursday. It has never rained on Open House. Rusty sends his love.

  11. I have to say that it is an almost perfect weather day here today, Poppy. 74 degrees F and sunny.

My Mom and Dad would like to visit New Zealand one day . They will try for the summertime. Mom went to University in Cape Town, South Africa, so she knows all about cold, wet winters without central heating!

  13. We think rain doesn't sound too bad for winter knowing how it can snow so badly here. We haven't been to New Zeland but our mom would love to go there - she saw it on this show a few years ago and it looks like such a beautiful place.

  20. Hi Poppy Q thank you for stopping by and signing up to be one of my followers. We have been having a lot of cold and windy, rain is suppose to come in today. Here in Northern California the weather is very unseasonal but it seems like it's like that in a lot of places in the world. Was interesting to read about the weather you are having. Have a great day.
