Panic Over

Mum says the panic is over - she finished reading The Passage, so if the world does end on Friday she knows what happened at the end.  She did laugh at the end of the book, when the author was describing his daughter reading everywhere and anytime, she sounds a lot like mum.  Mum read the book before she went to bed, in the morning drying her hair, while eating her breakfast, at morning tea, at lunchtime and got it finished at afternoon tea.  Phew!!

She doesn't truly believe that the world will end at the end of the week.  She has too much to do over the weekend, as well as being on call again.  Never mind - come Christmas Eve, mums break will begin.

  1. Nobody here thinks the world will end on Friday either... but my human keeps annoying me by hugging and kissing me "just in case."

  2. As you are several hours ahead of us, if the world does end on Friday, would you let us know so we can eat all our treats while we still have time. Thanks Poppy.

  3. Ditto Eric and Flynn. We love how all the "end of the world" scenarios never take into account time zones and international date lines. LOL.

  4. I don't believe it either, anymore than the Y2K thingy and many other doom and gloom predictions. Real life is askeery enough and busy enough to worry about such things. But YAY on finishing the book!

    Have a lovely day!

  5. We do not worry about the end of the world, just the empty food dishes!

  6. Is the world ending? Well on the solstice there is always the chance the sun will decide not to return. But it usually decides to at some point...

  7. Glad your mom was able to finish her book. Just in case.

There are some cuckoo Americans (what a surprise, huh?) that have wracked up thousands in credit card charges over the past year (for huge flat screen televisions, etc) because they figure if the world is ending, they might as well enjoy some fancy stuff and they won't have to pay. Boy, will they have a rude awakening.
