Declutter

Today was a day off for mum from last weeks nightshift.  She used it to tidy and reshuffle some stuff.  She had organised a charity shop to come and collect some items.  She had asked that they come early in the day, but they didn't arrive til 3.30pm tying mum to the house, and unable to go and get jobs done.  Oh well.  She does feel better that the stuff has cleared, and she has more room.

Me - I did a bit of sleeping and relaxing while mum kept herself busy.

  1. It's good that you got some rest poppy. I know your mom was much encouraged by your calmness.

  3. I am clearing out some more and already have quite a pile going for a special trash pickup in the next week or two. I love downsizing... the less I have the more serene and happy I feel.

Hope your day is lovely, ladies.

  4. We frequently provide moral support by napping while Mom is tidying up. I think she appreciates it immensely!

  5. Yeah, that's about how our pick up goes here. I called the Canadian Diabetes Association yesterday, and at least with them you just have to put the stuff at the end of your driveway with a "D" attached to the bags/boxes. Last time I did that it was POURING rain, though, and I had to cover everything with plastic dropcloths and weigh the sheets down. On the plus side, I didn't have to wait around at home.

It does feel great to declutter, though, and I know that my boys like to "help" when I do it. :-)

  7. It is very annoying when people don't turn up when they say they will, but at least it has gone now.I am glad you found time to relax Poppy.

  8. Poppy we are glad to hear that you and your mom finally got settled in your new place.

To bad that your had to wait around for pick up, when she could have been getting other things done.

  10. Sometimes downsizing is hard.
But it can be a good thing too.
When the time is right, you have an
opportunity to go shopping again for new stuff :)
As long as you two are together,
    everything will be OK !!

  14. Even though your mum was tied to the house, you two got to spend the day together and that's a good thing!
Because of you and your mum, our
mum has started to chop away at our
    clutter.
San's observation about calmness is very true for us too.
    Kisses and hugs, darling girl.

  15. It annoys the mom bean when someone is late for an appointment...she says it is furry disrespectful of her time. We does like you Poppy and takes a nap.

Hope the rest of the moving goes easily.
