Lucky

Today it was lucky that I was there to play nurse Poppy.  Mum had a restless night not feeling very well, and felt horrible all morning.  Luckily things settled down about lunchtime as mum had to go to work at 2.30pm.  She said my nursing skills came in handy.  So tonight she is hoping for a good long sleep, as she will be on call for the next four nights.  Wish her luck!!

  1. Poppy, dear, nurses are often difficult to nurse -- your mum is so fortunate that you're such a big, calm girl cat. (If she's got that awful headache that's going around the globe, nudge her toward icy cold cola.)

  3. Pets are always good nurses, and I'm sure you're just what your mum needed. But she seems to be under the weather quite a bit lately. I hope it isn't something that is lingering in her.

  4. We agree with John. Seems to be something might be lingering. Medical professionals never admit to being sick unless they're quite sick. Maybe it's time for your mum to have her yearly tune up at the doctors.
On calls never seem to help matters either.

  5. My human sister said she saw a lot of kids with abdominal pain in the ER the other night. Seems like a bunch of viruses are doing the rounds - Dad was sick for 2 weeks with a fever every night. Right now, both my humans are healthy. I have been sneezing, but nothing more. I think it is from the Christmas Tree.

Good luck to your Mom for feeling a lot better soon.

  9. Well, Hell Julie!
Hope you are feeling better very soon.
That night shift nonsense is simply too hard.
I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and New Year.

  10. Poppy, we sure hope your mom starts feeling better soon. Being on call, changing shifts & a stressful job make it hard for a human body to stay healthy. We are sure that your excellent nursing skills will help mom feel better in no time. If doctors were smart they would write scripts with directions to take one big New Zealand girlcat at bedtime. Snuggle & cuddle well & repeat until feeling well again. Poppy, we may have to start calling you Nurse Fuzzy Paws. You look like you are working hard to keep the bed warm for mom. We are crossing our tootsies & tails that everyone at your house can enjoy Christmas.
