Cosy Caturday

Hi Caturday Kitties, mum was relieved that the work alarm clock did not blare out at 6am, and she could get up at a respectable 8.30am.  She just wishes someone could send her menopausal bladder the memo - as that seems to like to awaken her at 4am each morning.  The good thing about that is she passes by the living room where I am sleeping at night and gives me a pat which I enjoy.

So with the weather predicting rain, it held off long enough for mum to walk the to the local independent cinema this morning.  Where she and one other patron enjoyed Still Alice, in a cinema fit for forty elderly bottoms.  A great if slightly unnerving movie about Alzheimers.

Mum then did a little wander around town before the skies darkened and the rain started.  Mum dashed home between showers so didn't get too wet, and there was a bit of thunder and lightening this evening.
A few suburbs were flooded, but we are on a bit of a hill so the water runs off and away from our house.

So us ladies are having a quiet night at home tonight, just enjoying being on the couch and relaxing.  Hope you are all having a relaxing Caturday too.

  2. Sounds like it was a good day, Poppy! Our human wants to go see the Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel -- definitely for the middle-aged and up crowd. Well, okay, anyone who likes Judi Dench and Maggie Smith!

  3. Poppy, dear, when you are a very old lady cat like my friend Mme. Mephi Wu, you, too, will march to the loo at 03:00 with your mum. Mme. Wu is a pretty tuxedo cat with enormous yellow eyes. We never bother to turn the lights on because she can see in the dark -- even though she no longer hears well -- and I know the way. I do pat the other cats en route.

  6. I swear mum gets up does the potty break and is back in bed and never really wakes up. She was up early, but will go to be early tonight.

  7. I read Still Alice and would love to see the movie. I can not find it playing anywhere close to where I live.
