Mumster Monday

Mum got to have the whole day off today which was good as the sun was shining.   Us girls got outside to have a potter in the garden, and mum put some bread out for the birdies, so I had to go and inspect it.  She actually got some washing done and out on the line, and a big photo session with me.  It was bliss to not wake up to an alarm clock and take a long shower.

Then she went out and visited with her niece Miss Belle and her sister in law.  They had an early dinner out and the girls ate lots of yummy asian summer rolls, chicken satay, chicken dumplings and beef satay - delish!!  There tummies were rather full so they went for a walk around the city as it was a mild autumn night.  Mum then said goodbye to the ladies, as they both had to go off and study and mum walked home, stopping to see the light display for the Anzac day celebrations at the war memorial not far from home.

So home in time to put the fresh clean linen back on the bed and do a bit of relaxing.  It is now close to midnight and I am on my blankie on her bed, and she it ready to join me.  Night night friends.

  1. Hope you had a good sleep, Poppy. I can't put bread out for the birdies here because Kane eats it up. haha! Such a bad 'ol dog. He lets them have all their seeds and fruit, though. Sounds like mum had a nice day. Deb

  7. Sounds like mom had a lovely day off. Our mom wishes she was dining on all the delicious foods your mom had for dinner. Our mom used a new recipe to make a beef enchilada casserole yesterday, but says it is way too salty tasting for her to enjoy. I don't think mom will be adding that recipe to her collection. You must be happy that the weather is getting cooler so you don't need to sleep out on the sofa any more & can snuggle with mom in bed for the fall & winter months. What a nice way to end mom's leisurely day off - tucked into bed snuggling with your mom, hey Poppy?

  8. Poppy, dear, what a lovely day your mum has shared with loved ones and a furry one! Hope she's discovered a restaurant that she will enjoy with the other ladies for years to come -- it's such fun to 'explore' a menu, dine well, and then leave the clean-up with a tip! (Tell your mum that extra firm tofu, well-drained, and plopped into a glass jar in the fridge with a package of Kong Pao sauce, yields an acceptable homemade meal when served with rice and veg.)
