Shock

We are still in shock, about the enormous fires in Victoria, Australia where so many people have been killed. Did you know that the firestaff in Australia, think that many of the fires were started by arsonists?

We have gone to the red cross website :
http://www.redcross.org.nz/cms_display.php?st=1&sn=13&pg=4202
where we made a small donation, to help out. We wish we could send the rain over that we have been having, as we know that would help.

Did you know that at the top of Australia, they are having too much rain? My good friends Fui and Suey have had 23 solid days of rain, and they are tired of it.

We hear that many of our friends have been having too much snow too!! Boy, we told you the weather gods were confused (they are confused because the Easter eggs and hot cross buns are out in the shops in January).

Anyways, we hope everybuddy is safe, that their friends and family are safe too, and you all have a nice warm dry bed to sleep in.

Smooches.

Just to make us happy today, we wanted to send big birthday wishes to our special friend Sweet Daisy, who is an cat blogging superstar. We hope you have a great day Miss D, and get lots of treats. We are sending you big hugs from NZ.

  1. It is a terrible tragedy happening in Australia. We are glad all our friends are safe, but we are very sad for all the people and animals who have died. We don't know how people can be so evil as to start fires when they know how easily they are out of control.

  2. The Police are planning on charging the arsonists with murder or manslaughter if they can find them.

The monsoon front that has been drenching us is moving down towards South East QLD, which is good, as they really need some water. It also meant we had a day to make a dent in our mountain of washing. We didn't recognise the sun at first!

Mum is making an appointment at the blood bank tomorrow. She didn't even think about it, but apparently burns victims need a big supply of blood.

We have an award for you on our blog:)

  4. Those fires and floods are just horrible. We really don't understand why a human would put fire deliberately. It's beyond our grasp. We hope the madness soon ceases.

  5. It's very not nice with the fire. We hope it gets under control too - or some of the rain from the North )or snow) from up here could find its way down South.

  9. We've been shocked by the ferocity of those fires too! We did read a report one sector of Australia is flooding, while one part burns. It is scary. It is heartbreaking to read the stories and watch the videos. We know if so many people were trapped and died, so were animals.

  11. I hope that soon the fires can be put out, and the arsonists caught! It seems unbelievable to me that a person(s) could do that, but there are some very sick people in the world.

  13. Very scary, we saw an interview with someone who said the fire was so intense it was using all of the oxygen up and making hard for beans to breathe! We hopes they catch the stupid people who set the fires.

  14. Oh, it's all because of the hot cross buns and the Easter eggs! Thanks for getting to the bottom of things, Poppy. Thanks to you and your mum for supporting those who are in trouble in Australia. We'd certainly help you in a flash, it's the Anzacat spirit (although it was kinda cool beating the Kiwis in the cricket last night...)
