Shaved

You can see my little shaved spot where the bloods were sucked away from me by the vampire vets.  John asked how they took my blood pressure and we think they do it like a human but on my paw.  I am very good at the vets and will sit still while they do everything except take my temperature.

I am still quiet today but back into my usual routines which makes mum happy.

  1. Poor you. I wouldn’t like my temperature taken either if I was a puddy tat.
You do look a bit wary and I see your little shaved bit. Cheer up though. With luck mum won’t go away again for ages. x. 😜

And taking your temperature can be a bit
risky..especially where they stick it..! :(.

Never mind..why don't you pop outside and
see what the birdies are up to..l expect their
pleased to see you back to..! :o).

  3. Poppy, dear, my largest tom, Simon McBogle, demonstrated his objection to having his temperature taken by rising from a prone position -- and lifting the little vet tech as he did so.

The McBogles are a local clan of DSH gray tabby barn cats, whose hind legs are noticeably longer than their front. I captured Simon when he was a wee laddie by holding a long strip of cooked bacon above him, and then towing him through my kitchen door when he bit the bait.

  4. Our vet always took blood from the throat area too, rather than the leg. You are right about taking blood pressure. I held Eric when he had his taken and a small cuff was used in the same way a person has it done. I looked back and saw John's comment but Eric was not anaesthetised. You do have to hold the cat very still though.

  5. In light of these remarks about blood pressure, Poppy, I am going to see if Cammie can have hers done the same way. With her stroke, she is taking blood pressure medicine, so I would like to know about her blood pressure. Then again, having it taken in a veterinary hospital might give unreliable readings.

  6. I hate having my temperature taken! The one thing I really hate about the vet. My human has seen vets take the blood pressure on Binga, and before that, Sparkle.

  7. Poppy, we are happy that you will be back to your old self soon. You are just pawsome to be so good when you go to the vet. Thanks for the share. Have a wonderful rest of your day.

  8. You have a wee scowl on your sweet little face Poppy - as though you are saying "I'm not going to the Vets again for quite a long time"!!

  9. I haven't had my blood stolen yet at the vet. I hope I won't get it done anytime soon.

  10. Poppy, we're sorry you had to go to the vet, but we are glad you're okay, and back at home and doing your routines. Hugs to you and Mum.
