Just lounging around next door, taking in the rays and looking at the birds. Thanks for checking out my fancy apartment with me. Tis a bit chilly here today so I'm enjoying any spot of sunshines I can get.
When the sun shines, I get to sit on my new sundeck on my new apartement (next doors shed). It catches the rays perfectly, and mum is seldom able to entice me home, unless she shakes the temptation packet.
More napping today as it was chilly and mum had been called in again last night, so a long sleep in was required - and an afternoon nap. Mum is busy now cooking curry chicken for tea and keeping her fingers crossed that tonight will be an easy night for her.
We are glad it is finally Friday, although Mum has a shift tonight and then is on call til 8am so it could be a loooong night. She has been able to use the morning to get some chores done, the washing, drying, a load of dishes, some groceries were brought and mum got a big pile of library books. That way if her night is busy, she only has a few jobs to do tomorrow afternoon.
We hope you all have a fabulous Friday, and get a chance to put your feet up.
Our winter has barely started, and we are looking for cosy spots to keep warm already. The winter solstice was yesterday, so today we have three seconds more daylight than yesterday. Not much outside action for me, I'm hanging out inside.
Our friend Miss Pia asked about the artwork hanging in mums bedroom. They are by a New Zealand artist, who screen prints the quotes about Hope, Love and Dreams onto them, and mum and her besties all have a set for their bedrooms. Unfortunately the lady who makes them, has tired of making them, and we don't know if she will make any more.
Mum loves art, and has a few pieces around the house. There is a big art show in August, and she has been squirrelling away some money for that, just in case she can afford a small piece.
Mum came back to me yesterday afternoon. I have been very vocal with her, as she left me for two whole nights!!! A friend came and gave me my fancy feasts, but I am glad to have my big bed warmer home with me. You may think I look crabulated in this photo, but really I am just camera shy.
Mum had a lovely quiet break away with the besties. For a bit of drama she felt car sick on the way home down a very long twisty road, and ended up being carsick just before she got home. But after a shower and a sleep feels betterer now. We had a lovely sleep in today and mum is taking it easy now!!
Mum has the next couple of days off from work. She was going to go to Christchurch with her besties for the weekend, it was a holiday that had been planned as a christmas present, and they were looking forward to visiting the southern city. You might remember that there was a big earthquake in Feb this year there, well the city is still ravaged with much of the central city destroyed and many homes still without sewerage facilities and repairs five months on. Well on Monday there were further large aftershocks, which have done more damage.
Then this week, our airspace has been closed off due to the volcano in Chile. All that dust has drifted around the world the long way, through Africa, Australia and now over our airspace. So the flights have been delayed all week, with very few planes flying.
So mum and her besties are going to head out for a couple of days away somewhere closer to home. Because it is only two nights, a friend of mums is going to come over and open some fancy feast for me, and as it is cold here, mum is happy that I will be nice and cosy curling up on her bed.
So have a lovely end of week and weekend and we will catch up next week.
It was a no to the little fishies, so many of you guessed, but I don't like the people food and except for a little ham I don't often venture to eating any stuff other than bickies, fancy feast, greenies or temptations. Mum thinks she will have to thank the good neighbour, and tell him that I enjoyed them, as he was quite excited to be offering such a great gift to me.
Hello heater - we missed you, but we are now enjoying your company every evening. Mum got a morning call and was in at work at 4am, so she was glad to find the couch tonight after work. Homemade Leek and Potato soup for supper for her, and a fancy feast for me. A great start to the weekend.
I had to wait outside in the cold and dark for my mum to come home tonight, as she was late and didn't get back til after 8pm - thats two hours past fancy feast time. Mum said that as soon as she came around the corner of our street she could hear me calling out for her. She promises to be home earlier tomorrow night.
Thanks for waiting for us. As she thought, mum had a long weekend of working and she had only an hour or two at home between sleeping and getting dressed. I helped out by sleeping on the blankets and guarding the house.
It's going to be Queens Birthday this weekend in NZ , and that means that most people have a three day weekend, but I have to send my mum off to work. She is getting Friday off, and has plans to get lots done, lots of chores and some treats. Me I'll be chilling out at home.
