Mum got home at 11.30pm last night. Went to sleep and up early today to go to work by 8am. a busy day at work and she has arrived home in time to shower and dress and go out with some old school friends. At least she can sleep in tomorrow and chat to me then.
We hope you all had a nice Caturday and did something fun.
Today has had a relaxing morning, mum got a big sleep in advance. This afternoon she starts a long stretch of evening shifts. Mum is just hanging out until this time next week when she gets some days off.
There was time for mum to do some dusting and hoovering this morning. She has a list of chores to get done during the week - good luck with that plan mum. I plan on sleeping all week.
When mum was walking home tonight, one of the neighbor cats walked mum to our house. What a gentleman.
It was mums day off today. She had a list of chores to do, but she ignored them and only got the towels washed and treated herself instead. She went and looked at some shops, bought a couple of tshirts on sale and had a budget lunch out. She came home and relaxed with me, had pizza for dinner and stayed up late to watch our Prime Minister on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
She hopes she can stay up late enough to finish the last few pages of her book. Night night everyone.
Last night was cooking night and the leftovers that mum had were delicious. it is a shame that I don't like to eat any of mums foods, as it smelled good. Tonight then is dishes night. Living by herself she doesn't need to do dishes every night, she tries to think of it as saving water.
Mum is in need of an early night. Every time she thinks of being in bed by 10pm it ends up being midnight. Maybe she shouldn't worry too much as daylight savings will start this weekend coming up and she will have to retrain her body clock again. Lucky for me I can sleep anytime. In the picture above it is 7.20am as mum was leaving for work.
Sunday night was always special for mum growing up. Her mum made a nice meal and it was the only night dessert was on the menu. Mum made a small roast of lamb with roasted veg and green beans. So she is going to bed with a nice full tummy and some fun leftovers for tomorrow.
Me - well Sunday has been good to have mum around and lots of time for snoozing.
Readers, I have a confession. I have been off the Fancy feast. Mum had been dishing it out but I have been only taking a little nibble and then leaving it on my plate. Mum was a little worried as she tried quite a few flavours and the rejection was the same. I have been enjoying my crunchy biscuits though so mum is not too worried about my tummy or my teeth.
She tried me on this Friskies beef tin tonight. I enjoyed it and ate a fair amount. It was a big tin and didn't smell too bad but it did make mum feel a bit quest dishing it out. I'm going to give it a solid 3.5/5.
Last night I slept on my bag for a while, but I spend most of the night asleep in my heated cat bed. Lately I have been joining mum for a snuggle in the morning which makes her want to stay home, but alas she had to go and earn some dollars.
Mum was lucky and got to have Wednesday off work and got to enjoy the lovely sunshine. It was sunny and almost 20 day C . Washing was done and mum had a big walk, and a big nap. Life is good.
Mum took the photos if these spring flowers on her way home tonight. So nice to see so many pink flowers. Winter is losing its grip a bit, although we had a night if pouring rain last night our Tuesday was warm and sunny. Lovely.
Mum was looking at some old photos tonight. She liked this one - it is maybe as close as I might get to looking at the camera. I am queen of the lookaway - a bit of the old side eye. This was in the back garden of the last house we lived in, when all the grass was green and a bit overgrown.
Hi Kids - are you having fun? I got some outdoors time today in the garden, exploring in the bushes, watching the birds, watching mum feed the birds, rolling round on the concrete, soaking up the sun, watching out for neighbor cats, listening to strange meows, watching the clouds, watching mum hang out the washing, opening the windows, closing the doors, in and out the catdoor, eating biscuits, drinking water and then a big old nap or two.
Thank goodness it is finally Friday. Mum has stocked the fridge, she has washed the towels and done a couple if chores. The uniform is ready to be washed and mum has her own clothes to be worn. She has a book to read, some shows to watch and friends to be caught up with. Mum is going to go outside and get some exercise and vitamin d. Most of all she is going to talk to me, brush my furs, pat me between the ears and take a nap with me.
This was the last look mum got as she left to head off to work. She would have lived to put her bag down and just climb up on the bed next to me. Anyway the shift is over now and mum is back home. Time for a snack and a bit of The Antiques Roadshow and then off to bed.
Mum was pleased today. She finally got herself to the charity shop to drop off a couple of big bag of items that she has cleaned out of the cupboards as well as getting a few things in the bin as they were too worn out to give away. She went to the library and got a couple of more books to add to the pile and then went and did a bit of window shopping. It was nice to have a bit of a wander and stretch her legs.
She got home to join me on the big bed, and mum did a touch of reading before nodding off with me. Dinner was easy and mum is going to head off early with me. A couple of old ladies.
Mum pulled all the bedding off the bed to air everything out as she did the washing this afternoon. There was sunshine and a breeze but it was only 9 day C, so the washing didn't try completely, we need a few more degrees to get it lined dry.
She is feeling better, her tummy is still a touch upset so she is going slowly and eating lightly and drinking lots of fluids.
Mum has the urge to spring clean a bit, but maybe not quite the energy. the return if the sun and blue skies has that affect most years. There is a change in the light, we are getting our afternoon sun thought the bedroom and living room windows. The mornings are also lighter and brighter which makes it easier to wake up - not this morning though, us girls had a long sleep in.
Haha we hadn't seen this one before. We know it is an ad, but a clever one and worth the quick watch. We figure you had heard enough about mums bowels in yesterdays post - it was time for something fun! Enjoy!
As if mum hasn't been sick enough lately, she got home last night and had a quick dinner. when she went to bed she had a by of a sore tummy but was awoken a couple of hours by bad tummy cramps. She got to the bathroom just in time, but Mets just say it wasn't pretty. Mum had the D's and Vs for a number of hours overnight using up many towels and buckets. She had to stay home from work as her stomach was still upset until about midday. All she has been able to take today is a bit of fluids, and maybe she will be up to eating something over the weekend. She is not sure if she got a bug or a touch of food poisoning, but she hopes to get some sleep tonight. She would just like a month without any drama and good health.
I have taken to my bed cos it feels like the coldest night of the year so far. Mum rushed home after work, and got rained on most of the way, so her coat and boots are left to dry out. Some comfort food was needed, she tried a feast for me which was ok, and roasted some chicken legs and sweet potato with her and a big bowl of peas. Just what she needed to warm herself up.
So she might just have to head to bed early and curl up with her book. She longs for warm summer evenings wearing sandals and summer clothes, instead of woolly jumpers and sheepskin slippers.
We got an email tonight to say that our nice vet Dr Natalie is leaving her practice to take up a new job, but our little vet practice will continue with one of the other vets in charge which is good, as that is the cattery that I go and stay at when mum has to go away. Mum must remember to buy a card to send to thank the vet for all of her kind work, even if she has spent 12 years telling me I am too fat.
So it was a slow Sunday here at the house of Q. Mum woke early but stayed in bed and read. The clouds were gathering outside so mum decided a day at home would be nice. She read and pottered and talked to me.
It was fathers day here today and she thought about her dad and how much she missed him, and how lucky she was to have him so long. We hope that if you have your dad's you got to talk with them or hug them tight.
It is the first day of spring here and it was sunny and warm. Mum left the jacket at home, popped on the sunglasses(and some clothes) and went out for a walk. She met a bestie for some tasty lunch and a chat. Mum had kedgeree, a tasty smoked fish, rice and egg Scottish dish which she enjoyed.
She had a wander in the afternoon and took some pictures of blooms on the way home. There was time for reading and a Saturday afternoon nap. Leftovers for her dinner and a movie to watch in the evening. She is going to put a face mask on now and eat a bowl of grapes before heading to bed.
Me - well I got mum up early to show her that naughty neighbour cat had been in overnight and ate last night's chicken bits and all the biscuits. So mum us going to clean it all up tonight and put the biscuits away so I better get my snacks early.
We hope you all have a good Caturday too - do something fun.
