Happy New Years My Lovelies

Happy New Years to you My Lovelies.  As mum had a big day out yesterday, today she did some chores and tonight we are relaxing on the couch with some tasty dinner and treats.  Mum doesn't feel the pressure to go out and the weather is windy and cool tonight, so will meet up with the beasties another night.

So thanks for joining us for another year.  We wish you all a good 2017, with health, wealth and good company.

Lunch

Mum had lunch out by the seaside today with friends.  It was nice to soak in the warm summer rays.  I soaked them in from the deck.

Wrapping Paper

Mum let me have this tissue paper that came wrapped around some stuff, and I love it.  It keeps me all snuggly as I sleep and keeps mum awake with the noise.

New Friend Dust

This is our friends cat Dust.  He is very handsome and looks a little like me too.  He and his sister Storm live the good life with a lovely family, 4 chickens and a great garden to run around in.

Boxing Day

Mum had a lovely day staying with her friends for Christmas.  These are two of their four chickens Umby and Speck.  Mum had fun taking pictures of them and the garden.

I was glad when mum got home and talked to me.  I got extra Christmas treats, but she didn't bring me home a chicken of my own although she let me have a chicken fancy feast.

zdravstvujtye

zdravstvujtye  - we found out on Google that this is a Russian greeting for people we don't know well.  Mum looked at the stats this week from the blog, and we have been joined by lots of Russian readers.  Hello to you all.

Well it has hardly felt like summer here today with a meazley 11 degree c and rain.  Come on summer we really want some warmth and sun.  So mum read her book and napped with me, something I am excellent at - well maybe not the reading part.

Hope you are all organized for the holidays ahead.

Double Laugh

So mum went to the hairdresser tonight, and on the way home popped into the supermarketto get a few more bits and bobs.  When she left she was daydreaming by the crossing waiting for the lights to change. A guy walked past and said " it's alright you can cross, no one is going to run over a princess".  Mum laughed so hard, she let out a little fart.   When she turned round to check no one was close, a young woman next to her was laughing.

Oh well!!!!

Summer Bed and Meatballs

Today the sun was shining and hinting at long summer days.  So mum put the washing out and let me have my summer bed outside.   Lucky me!!!

Mum went out for a little walk and went and saw Rogue One at the movies which was OK and at the end made sense.  She was at the cinema with an all male IT depth, 6 tourists in need of deodorant, four teenagers who smoked too much weed before the show and two loud giggly transsexuals.   You see our cities multiplexes have been closed since the big earthquakes.   So all the young people are invading the old people cinema.  Can't wait for them to be fixed.

So when mum came home I was outside in the bed.  I came in for my feast and are back outside on the deck.  Mum had some tasty meatballs with salsa and yoghurt.  She bought ready made balls cos last time it cost mum 4x the price and four hours to make.

Wipeout

Mum was capable of not much today.  Now the night shifts are over her body feels paralyzed.   So it should be business as usual tomorrow.

That is a dung beetle pushing up a big lump of camel pooh up a sand dune on the television.   We love you David Attenburough.

Countdown Sunday

So we are on the end of mums long countdown of 15 days at work.   Tonight is her last night of nightshade and tomorrow at 7am work is finished for 2016 and mum is  not back there until January.

I gifted mum a present of vomitingon her bedspread so she had to clean that up this morning.  When she went to bed I did snuggle up and sleep right beside her which I don't do very often.
I have been lucky too as I know that when mum gets home from work it is dinner time.  So I have been getting two dinners.  One at the normal time and one in the morning.   Mum says that it ends tomorrow.   She enjoyed her dinner.  The first fresh corn of the season, some veg and a pork chop with sauce.

Hope you are all having a nice Sunday too.

Caturday Naptime

Mum has done her first night shift.   One down two to go.  She visited the supermarket on the way home for supplies.  She got a couple of hours sleep this morning then got up at lunchtime.   She got up and made some blt rolls.  She had a nap with me this afternoon, and let me have her bag next to me - I love the smell.

This afternoon she was awakened by the aerial guy.  A week or two ago the aerial got blown off its mount, but mum pushed it back on the roof.  The signal had been ok until Thursday so mum had to call someone in.  The guy was nice and showed mum the broken bracket which meant the whole system needed replacing.  So thanks for that - goodbye  $150.

So now mum is getting showering and dinner organised so that she can go back to work.

Hope you all had a nice Caturday.

Supervisor

The sun was shining today so mum did loads of washing, the dishes and a few other chores.  She has to go and work the night shift tonight so a little nap may be in order.   Me - well I supervised from the couch.  Lucky I am so good at my job.

Book Lover

As mum plows through her shifts she has been able to find some time to read.  Even when she gets home late, reading is a way to quiet down her mind and get off to sleep a bit easier.  Unless I have to sit on the book like I did last night.

Sharing

So after the great love affair of Oct/Nov 16 of me and the spare room I have moved back onto the mum bed.  Now she has to wait for me to settle down and climb on top of her at night.  I spend about a half hour settling down and then usually only spend 10 minutes there before going off and doing my own thing.

Rudolph

One of mums colleagues made some Christmas Rudolphs out of bed pans and urinals (unused).  How festive!!

This morning was beautiful, blue skies and heat.  By lunchtime we had rain and thunder and tonight we have the heater on.

Still Sunday

More rain.  Luckily mum only got caught in one shower last night on her way to work.  She had three call ins and not too much sleep so today was a nap day for us girls.  Now she just has one more night you handle and another 7 days of work and her horrible 14 day stretch will be over.

Time for her to go and brush the knots out of her hair and make herself presentable.   Me - well I have had dinner and are napping already.

Rainy Caturday

Gosh we are so over all the rain and grey skies.  Come on summer we are more than ready.

Mum did get some sleeps last night and only had to to work at 5am.  So she and I managed to get a good nap.

Call starts again in half an hour so mum feels better prepared tonight.

Hope you have all had a good Caturday too.

Our Day

Mum finished last night at 11pm.  She rushed home to give me my feast and had a little relaxation time of eating cookies and fruit while watchingsome reality TV.   In bed at 1am.  Up at 5.30am, shower and then back to work.

A good day at work although the deep foggy cloud gave mum a very bad hair day.  Finished at 3pm then a walk - library, supermarket stop offs.  A feast for me and chicken salad for mum.  Washing on and then a nap for us both.  Now it nears 10pm and mum is on call.  Go mum.

Me well I have moved from the spare room back onto mums bed sleeping on my towel.  20 hours sleep.   Job done.

Worker Cat

Today I have been helping mum out.   She tried to sleep in but I worked her up at 6am,7am and 8am.  Then I showed her my food bowl on the way to the shower and on the way back.  I sat on her while she read her book and then came and smooches on her slippers.  All that work - now I better have a 10 hour nap.

Snoozerella

Not much to report here.  We had dinner by 5pm and mum was snoozing like a pensioner by 6pm.  She did get up and water the garden before sitting back on the couch.

Lucky Us

Mum has been loving the skies lately.   The particular blues that only seem to show themselves as summer approaches.   Today was a good day at work for her, a walk afterwards and then the usual supermarket visit.  She checked one of her lottery tickets and it was a whole $32 win!!!  So instead of beans on toast mum made some Mexican mince and vegetables for herself and a fancy feast for me.  Lucky us!!!

Aftershock

Mum went out today to the yearly fair.  Her and her beasties always meet up and have a wander.  She went past a couple of cordoned off areas.  The one above is half way through being pulled down because of damage
Others are like this with some obvious external damage and closed inside .  There were a couple with bad cracks but mum did not want to linger out outside them long enough to take a photo.

She then did a wander and came home and took a nap with me .  We then we're woken up by a 5.5 aftershock, just a reminder that things are not quite back to normal yet.

Mum is glad that it has been a relaxing weekend .  She has a solid 14 day stretch of work and shift ahead .  So lots of work before a wee break.

Lovely Caturday

Happy Caturday my lovelies.  We hope you got to or are having a lovely day.  Mum and I had the best sleep in in ages, although I did wake her up at 6am to tell her it was morning time.

After her shower and a couple of loads of washing mum had some breakfast.   The courier dropped off the new plug for the computer but alas that hasn't fixed the problem so it looks like mum might need a new computer.   She thinks though she will have to wait until the Christmas sales.  Oh man.

She did get a few presents when she was out.  She then walked home and came and served up my feast.   Tonight we are relaxing and mum is thinking she should dig out the Christmas decorations.

We hope you have had a good  Caturday too.

New Friends

One of mums beasties lost her sweet girl Mollie a few weeks ago.   Mollie was a sweetie, she had lost one leg after an accident when she was little.  She had a great life as a three legged cat.  But she got sick this year and it broke our friends heart to have to take miss mollie for her final visit to the vet.

Last night she got to bring these two lovely fellows home to join her family.  Say hello to George and Louie.

Mum says she can'take wait to meet these two boys sometime.

Rain Alarm

Last night skies seemed full of rain.  It had not started when we went to bed, but I went out at 5am and got wet, so made sure I came in and woke mum up to tell her.  She was getting up at 5.30 am anyway.

She calls me her rain alarm clock - tee hee.

Tuesday News

Well mum had a lovely day at work and went out for a walk on the way home.  She caught two of the neighbors playing on the steps by our house.

She got to meet a sweet friend today.  Blogging is fun, and we are grateful for all of our new friends we have made.

As soon as she got in the door I was begging for my feast.  Mum had the leftover salad that she had made last night, so dinner was easy for her.  She went to plug the laptop on and it was dead.  We think it is the plug,  so mum has ordered another one and will have to continue to post on the phone.

Oh man there are always extra bills to sort.  Still a plug is cheaper than a new laptop so fingers crossed that will fix the problem.
