Now we get that some developer will tear the house down and put up some tiny hipster dwelling for a couple of up and coming professionals.
Want to guess what they think it will make at auction?
Yes it should get upwards on 1 million kiwi dollars !!!
Thats $778,000 USD, or 478,000 pounds sterling.

Mum popped into work for a few hours and then went to leaving drinks for one of her colleagues, but was good and only had a lemon lime and bitters (her favourite drink), before hitting the supermarket then heading home. Dinner was a spicy pork and veg noodle dish. Mum got some new strong chilli, that she hasn't quite finished figuring out yet. Maybe just a little pinch next time - this ones a burner!!
Enjoy your Friday - see you on Caturday!!

Then I had to have a blood test, to have a check up as well. Dr Eve emailed mum later and said it appears my liver is ok, but my kidney levels are borderline. Sigh. So when I get to see the special vet they have to squeeze some urine out of me. Good luck buddy.
Also - Dr Eve said I was not kinda skinny and have to have diet biscuits. Luckily they had run out, so mum gave me a day off, but has to go back to pick some up tomorrow. I also got a butt shave - luckily Brazilians are in for the summertime!!
So mum is about $300 poorer so far and is glad that she is busy at work to pay for all of my doctors bills.

So with the wind blowing hard outside, the heaters are turned on like a winters evening. We have full bellys, mine full of fancy feast and mum cooked herself a little bit of steak with carrots and sweet corn, as it was time to have more fruit and vegetables. Mum has eaten too many carbs in her week of evening and night shifts and wants to get back into the healthy stuff. The latest Lee Child novel is waiting to be finished so we might both curl up under the covers soon.

She bought these sandals online to try out, and although they looked cute and I loved them, mum did not like them enough so sent them back (with a bit of cat fur on them). She will use the money instead to buy some yearly Birkenstocks - her favourite summer sandals. She is a bit annoyed they have become trendy this year, as she liked being the only one wearing them. She is shocked at the thought of getting her pale pasty legs out though after months of tights and winter shoes.
Hope you all had a good Caturday and did something fun. Smooches xxxx

Thanks for all the nice comments under yesterdays post. The old house we lived in was lovely and our favourite of any of the places we have lived. It used to worry mum that there was a turning spot right outside and the rubbish truck was a tight fit. They think he just hit the gas a bit too hard, and then hit the house and the gas pipes, so a bit of a drama. Nobody was home, and the house had just undergone renovations, so now they have to get repairs done which will take some time we imagine.
Mum had a chance today and get out and have a walk. She did some chores, took the library book back, and voted at the library - there were big long lines. Tomorrow is our general election and most of us will be glad when it is over, as it has been boring and dominated the news for months. A visit to the post office, bank and supermarket rounded out an afternoon of pottering round for mum. Of course as soon as she got home there were more bills in the letter box - typical!!

Today there was a big rugby match in town, so mum thought it would be best to avoid the crowds, so she might get some things done tomorrow or maybe not. She says it is good not to spend any money if she can avoid it, and she is a bit sick of the same old stuff in town. With the weather warming up, she will now be able to wander a bit further afield and take in the fresh air. Me - I'm happy at home.
Enjoy your Caturday furrieds - do something to make you smile.

She is glad I got out in the sun and soaked up some rays today as the forecast is rather gloomy for the weekend. So mum intends to get up earliesh on Caturday and get jobs done before the weather turns bad in the afternoon.
Last night she managed the four hour sleep after drifting off about 2.30am and then getting up to her alarm at 06:30am. She was surprisingly good at work all day, and wished she could cope on that amount of sleep every night, as imagine how much blogging, reading and tv watching she could get done instead of having to get 8 hours or so every night.
So cats and kiddies time to get your rest in readiness for Caturday.
So I had a late night at home of resting peacefully. Dinner was at midnight, so mums says I should enjoy a big sleep tonight.
See you closer to Caturday!!!

Mum had thought of heading up town for a walk, but has been into town once too often at the moment, and might save a quick visit for the weekend. In trying to be frugal it is hard to justify the $17 movie ticket price when she had a store of movies and shows to watch and a pile of books that seem to be at her body height and need to be back at the library soon.
Fancy feast was eaten early, and mum cooked some salmon and rice and veg for her dinner which was tasty.
This week is her favourite week, for as she has had two days off, now there are only three days to work before it is the weekend again. She has a busy spell of working at the moment, but that all helps with the bank balances and paying the bills.

So nice to have a leisurely day. Mum put my blanket outside on the seat in the sun so I could sunbathe which was nice. We had a nice night together and a chance for a little time together on the couch. hope your week has started off well too.

I helped out by talking to her for a few minutes before heading back to bed - a girl needs her sleep. Hope you all have had a relaxing Caturday and plan to take it easy too!!

Mum started work early, which allowed her to leave at 3:30pm, in time to visit the post office and library. Woohoo Friday night fun for a middle aged lady!!! Home by 4pm - curtains pulled, heater on and track pants and slippers on. The weekly washing machine frenzy will be waiting til Sunday night instead of tonight.
I can't talk - my feast was wolfed down by 4:30pm and by 5pm I was back on mums bed. Yippeee!!!!
Enjoy your Friday night!!

The best bit about mums day today was that she had got called into work last night from 10pm -1.30am to do a couple of jobs. This morning, she finally got to sleep after 3am and then had to go back to work at 6.30am-7.45am. This meant that she then was able to have the day off. Much as she thought she would get a lot done, she instead watched a couple of shows, then took a nap for a few hours in the midday before going for a walk.
Mum is pretty keen to get out and about walking more, and has been making excuses about not having walking clothes, decent shoes etc. So she walked herself to the shops and bought some cheap exercise pants and is determined to put them to use. She has some sneakers to wear, and if she sticks to her plan, then she can look for some new walking shoes. Better to start walking first, and have a goal. As the evenings get longer and warmer, mum is glad to not feel so cooped up. Me - I'm happy at home!!

We are a bit bored with the tele at the moment. They seem to be overdosing themselves with the cooking, house doing upping and talent shows and it all feels a bit same old stuff. Mum does like Shameless (on late late on a Monday night), the Antiques Roadshow (finished for a little while) and a few of the currant affairs programmes. The Walking Dead will be back in October, and Orange is the New Black, is streaming on a local site. We get a big mix of US and UK programmes, with a few from Australia and about 20% New Zealand shows. Our one income budget doesn't stretch to cable television, but having a DVR means we can record late night shows and movies, and is good for shift work, when you finish at odd hours and want to watch something as 99% of television after midnight appears to be infomercials.
Luckily mum has a big pile of books and a comfy bed, so entertainment is solved really. We know we mustn't complain,, at least mum has most evenings spare to relax and put her feet up, unlike so many.
So nite nite from us.

Dinner was dished out for me, and mum had a teeny tiny piece of beef with broccoli and carrots for her dinner. After a weekend of dining out and burgers, she is upping the fruit and veg consumption this week.
She told you that she took out her niece for dinner on Saturday night? Well she was checking her bank account last night and realised that she had been overcharged by $40. She also had not asked for a receipt, so she emailed the restaurant. They replied this morning and said they would send the refund by cheque which was nice of them.
So mum is sitting next to me, trying to keep her eyes open at 9.15pm which is early for her. I took myself off to bed at 6pm after dinner, so that I could get some extra snoozing in.
Happy snoozing to you all!!
