Winter Cushioning

Winter is almost over and mum has finally put away the summer bright cushions and put the winter grey ones on the couch.  She has had them for weeks, but not felt like shuffling everything round.
I wonder how long these will last on the couch?  Maybe they are all seasons?

Done any redecorating lately?  Any changes at your place?

Caturday Movie - Radamenes the Nurse Cat

So the mumster left me today to go out in the rain and visit with a bestie.  They went to a cafe where mum always orders the sausages and mash, so she was glad of a big long walk to  walk off the calories.  They did lots of window shopping and mum even tried on 7 pairs of shoes - but didn't buy anything!!!

So I was looking at the interwebs and found this one about Radamenes the Nurse cat - Enjoy!!!

Friday Chillaxing

Well Friday night has rolled around here in the house of Q.  Mum finished work late and dashed between the rain showers to pop to the supermarket and stock up on essentials like a new broom, some air freshner, washing powder and apples.  How extravagant!!

I greet her at the door as soon as she walks in and demand my feast be dished up straight away.  How lucky am I?  Such service from my mumster.  Then the war of the couch begins.  I have to sit on the arm of the couch til she decides to move and do some chores, leaving me to sleep in my spot.

So now us girls are chilling.  Mum is doing some washing and pottering round.

Hope you guys are having a good end to your week, ready for the weekend to begin.

Try Something New Thursday - Meditation Course

Hi friends, the mumster decided to try something new this week too.  She has started a youtube 30 day meditation class.  It only takes 10 minutes a night, and so far she is finding it helps her out.  Life is a bit stressful at the moment for lots of reasons, and she felt this could be a skill she could try out.  If she is able to clear her mind and get a better sleep it is all good.

Are you thinking of trying anything new this week?

Stretching Out

Mum had bought a set of shelves months ago that had sat in the living room.  As she was trying to do a tidy up, she put the shelves together and got ready to cut up the box.  Who wastes a good box I say?  Mum let me play in it for a while, before cutting it up.

Just Loafing

Me and the Mumster have just been loafing round today, doing some jobs and taking it easy.  After a week of bad sleeps the sleep fairy has been trying to add some extra hours in.  So instead of racing round today she spent the day relaxing, enjoying patting me.  So I am happy.  A happy cat.

Sunday Shopper

Crack out the credit card and warm up the internets my friends as you might want to buy these amazing wall art/cat furniture from Catastrophic Creations I found on ETSY.  Our landlady may not want us to put these up on the walls, but if you own your own place - go crazy!!!

Hope you have had a nice day with lots of relaxing done.

Stormy Saturday Caturday

Today was a rather stormy Caturday.  Mum and I had to get up early as she had to go to a work study day this morning.  She thought it would be boring, but the speakers were good, and the morning tea was possibly the best mum had had in attending 30 years of talk.  It is always annoying when it is on at the weekend, as staff don't get paid to attend and it takes time out of a precious weekend off.  The good thing was that mum ran into a couple of people she hasn't seen for a while which was nice.

The afternoon weather got worse, not better with lots of wind and rain, but as the International Film Festival started mum went and met a bestie.  They had lots to talk about and as the movie was at four they had an early dinner - at 3.30pm with some tasty pork tacos!!!   They enjoyed the movie, Truman a Spanish Argentine movie about two adult friends and a dog.  4/5

Mum was glad to be able to head home at 6pm with a stop off at the supermarket.  All stocked up so she doesn't have to go to the supermarket tomorrow and can stick the sweats on and hang round the house.

As she had left the house at 8am this morning, I was very vocal when she got home and was happy to have my dinner early too.  I am now snoozing on her bag on the bed - still loving the leather!!!

Hope you had a nice Caturday and got to do something fun.

Screen Time

Today the mumster had a good day at work.  She started her day with not enough sleep, but the shower she had at home and the walk to work freshened her up. Luckily us girls didn't have to much planned for the evening, so we got a chance to chill out together on the couch.  I try and steal her spot and she tries to catch up on her computer stuff while watching the box at the same time.

Mum is looking forward to the weekend, but she has to get up early to go to a study morning tomorrow.  She is not looking forward to having to stay awake all morning for that one.

Try Something New Thursday - The Facial

So everything has been a bit same same for me and mum lately, so she decided it is time to try to do something new.  So today (well yesterday actually), she had some time to spare, so she decided to book herself a facial and some tweezering of brows and an eyelash tint.  It was a nice day and so she got to have a wander round town before booking arriving early for her appointment.

As soon as she arrived it seemed she could do nothing right.  Arriving early, mum felt they were a little annoyed as the technician must have been at lunch.  Mum was more than happy to stare at a magazine while she waited - she would much rather be early then late.  Mum thought she had good skin, but apparently the cleanser and moisturizer she uses was wrong, and skin that mum thought was good was dry and over sensitized. The waxing was fine, the tinting of lashes was a bit odd.  Mum says it was surprisingly hard to stay with your eyes closed for ten minutes (I can keep my eyes closed for ages - easy).

Then she had a face mask put on that had oatmeal in it which smelled like stale porridge and made mum want to hurl a little bit.  Her skin did feel better when she left and with promises to keep up the new skin regime she even rebooked for another appointment in a months time to see if the new skin care works.

So mum was glad to have tried something new with her week.  How about you - do you want to try anything new?

Same Same

Today is another same same day.  Sleep, wake, shower, work, home, dinner, chores, relaxing, on-call then sleep (for the mumster).

For me - sleep, sleep, wake up, breakfast, walk the perimeter, do my business, sleep, sleep, sleep, get a snack, sleep, sleep, sleep, more business, dinner, walk the perimeter, sleep, sleep, sleep.

Our days end up much the same at the moment.

Mumsday Monday

Mum was very grateful that today was her day off and she got to have a Mumsday and relax and not think about work, but just take it easy.  Her brain woke her up early, but she stayed snuggled under the covers for a while as it was chilly out, but the sun was shining.  So she got up and did a couple of chores before heading out.

She took herself off for a walk, then went to the library, cos she loves books and with the ten at home worried she did not have enough.  She had been thinking about the awesome lunch she had at the Lido Cafe across the road from the library for the past month, so went and ordered the same thing and it was just as delicious.  She then went for more of a walk before heading home.  It was nice to get out of the house and just wander round and people watch.

Me I stayed snuggled on her/our bed.  Sunggled on her leather bag - which I am allowed as long as there is no scratching.  As if I would!!

Sunday Shopping

Yet again I was left alone on my Sunday while the mumster went out to work.   A girl has to pay for feast somehow.  While she was out I was browsing the internets looking for some great gifts.  I found these cool cat loungers from Giotto Cat Furniture/ ETSY , they are made in London and I am sure would look very styley in your house.

The mumster admired them and their stylish form, but said I might have to make do with a cardboard box.

So mum bought some Chicken for dinner which I didn't share as I don't like people food.  I also did not eat any of mums fish and chips on Friday night either.  It is only crunchies or feast for me.

I hope you had a nice Sunday too - did you do any shopping?

Hi Caturday Lovers

Hi Caturday Lovers, I guess for most of you your day is just beginning as ours is ending.  It is 10:15pm here and the mumster is finally home, just in time to turn the heaters on.  The day was super sunny and even warm, but the nights and mornings are still cool and the mercury is hovering round 6 deg C here.

Mum and I had a little sleep in, although she woke up early at 7am but stayed in bed for a couple of hours reading her book.  Then she showered and did a couple of jobs before heading out for a walk.   Then she headed off to meet a bestie.  They had a chat and then went and had some Asian chicken noodles which were delicious.  They went to the arthouse cinema to see Remember a movie about an elderly Jewish man who goes on a search to find the German who had his family killed in Auschwitz.  Not the cheeriest of subjects but the girls enjoyed it and thought Christopher Plummer did a stellar job and give it a 4/5.

So groceries were grabbed on the way home and mum is watching the news before heading off to bed.  Heaters will stay on tonight in the bedroom to keep us warm and mum feels I will be snuggling close.

Fish & Chip Friday

So the stars all aligned tonight for mum to go and get Fish & Chips for dinner.  It was Friday (the perfect day not to eat meat - so fish is a good option), it was payday yesterday so mum had some cash on her and she had to visit the library across the road.  Mum only gets them about 3 times a year so it was a nice little treat, although a bit cold when she got home.

So the middle aged mumster is having a grand old time tonight.  Fancy dinner, then washing done and hung out, dishes soaking  - woop woop she lives a wild life!!

Hope you are all ready for the weekend and preparing yourself for Caturday.

Payday

Tonight is payday night in the house of Q.  Mum spends 5 minutes staring at her bank account before she pays the bills and the money pops off into other accounts.  She is a bit old fashioned and will go to the money machine tomorrow and take some cash out to put into her wallet.  All the young ones pay by their cards, but mum finds it a bit easier to budget if she knows how much spending money she has.  What do your mums and dads do - cash or cards?  (Me I pay in purrs).

Explorin

Today was sunny so I went out on the deck and rolled round in the sun, then went explorin out in the garden.  That is what I call it, mum thinks I went out to poop.   The nights have been cold and the mornings frosty but the sun heats up midday.  Overnight it was around 4 deg C, and during the day about 12 deg C, so our winters is quite mild but we still like to moan about it.

The mumster spent her day at work, leaving in the dark and heading home as the sun was coming down.  Supermarket stocking had to be done, as the feast was running low and we can't have that!!

Mumsday

Mum was glad when work was over last night.  She was super tired, but managed to head home with some groceries, feed me my feast, put the heater on and collapsed onto the couch.  She slept well, until her body clock woke her up at 6am.  I was snuggled in next to her as it was a cold night and frosty morning.  She read her book and listened to the radio til 8am and then got herself up.

Some chores were done, the dishes that had piled up and some washing that needed to be done.  The sun was out and so sheets were draped on the line for a couple of hours.  Mum then thought she should go for a walk.  She headed into town off to the library where she pottered round and then decided she had time for the cinema.  So she went to the lighthouse cinema in town which was deserted.  In fact in the whole theater there were mum and two others, one of which was a lady that laughed very loudly throughout the movie.  She saw Love and Friendship, the story based on a Jane Austen novella. Mum does enjoy a good costume drama, but found this one dragged a bit and although all the actors looked good she didn't really enjoy it.  It could also be that she was tired and kept nodding off.

Mum then thought she should make the most of the sunshine and walk home.  It is only a 15 minute walk, but half of it was uphill, but she felt better once she got home.  She cooked herself a chicken and broccoli pasta dish and I took myself to bed real early and haven't asked for my feast yet.  Mum is sure I will wake up soon and realize I am hungry.

So mum enjoyed her day off - in fact she has the next 3 Mondays off, so she has some things planned for all of them.  Hope you all had a good day too.

Sunday Shopping

Mum went to work again today and left the computer on - so I looked around and found these cute plates and bowls at Clay Lick Creek Pottery on ETSY.  They do custom orders, so your person could get one made to look just like you!!

Working Caturday

I sent the mumster off to work today - she headed off at 9.30am and made it home just over 12 hours later.  I was hungry and wanted my feast, and mum ate lots of unhealthy nibbles while crashing on the couch.  A couple of shows and then us girls are hitting the hay (heading to bed).  Life is pretty same same at the moment.

Hope you had a nice Caturday and got to do something fun even though we had a quiet day.  Mums fun day comes on Monday.

Friday Night

The mumster had a big busy day at work today, so she was glad to come home.  A visit to the supermarket to stock up on weekend supplies, some bagels, a mango, a chicken and some potato salad so she has some tasty food for her.  Fancy feast is not on sale this week, so mum hasn't stocked up for me.  She better go on Monday and check the specials.

She is a bit annoyed as she plugged her phone in and now it is not working, which she uses as her alarm clock, so she hopes she can wake up in the morning, especially as she is working.  She is trying to see if she can get the alarm on the laptop to work, otherwise she will have to rely on her body clock.

So tonight has been a bit of a chilly one, so mum donned the fleecy pyjamas on early.  The candles have been lit and mum is catching up on her shows imbetween some loads of washing.  Uniforms and  towels are all washed and hanging on the clothes rack to dry.

Hope all of you who aren't working this weekend have some fun things planned for yourselves.  We are saving our fun for Monday when Mum gets the day off.  In fact she doesn't have to work the next four Mondays - isn't she lucky?

Howdy

The mumster and I have been chilling.  Mum got an early start, then rushed home after work for a hairdresser appointment.  Mum then just about feel asleep in the chair.  She woke herself up by reading 4 magazines and was finally able to leave at 8.30pm - 3 hours after arriving.

So us gals are just chilling and thinking about snoozing the night away soon.  What are you up to?

Early Bird Chow Down

Mum had to get up real early this morning to head out to work.  It was still dark as she headed off to work, but the earlier you get started the earlier you get home, so mum was glad when the day was over and she got a bit of sunshine on the walk home.

Mum ate the last of the leftovers for her dinner tonight.  Because she was home at 3.30pm and was hungry dinner was eaten at 4.30pm rather than snacking, so that officially makes her an old lady - eating before 5pm.

The big surprise was mine.  She accidentally bought the salmon fancy feast that I usually turn my nose up at, but tonight I chowed down.  Who knew?

Working Week

Mums working week has begun, and she likes to think of me chillaxing at home like in this photo from a year or so ago.  Just relaxing and rolling round on the couch while she brings home the bacon.  Her day began in one area, and then she had to work in another one, keeping her on her toes.  But before she knew it her day was over, and she could head home to me, so that she could plant her butt on the couch and eat her leftover dinner, which she quite enjoyed.

Mum is on a 7 day working stretch and is just looking forward to next Monday which will be a day off for her.  She knows to pace herself, get some good food in and try to get enough sleep, always difficult when she works different shifts each week.

So tonight we are sharing the couch, the tv is on and mum has lit some candles.  Not for romantic atmosphere, but more because she thought she went to work today with a slight wiff of parsnip about her (last night she cooked a carrot/parsnip/turnip mash).

Slow Sunday

That is Mums Sunday night dinner, it was nice and tasty and even though it doesn't look to appealing she enjoyed it.  She has been reading this week that 40% of all food produced is thrown out in the rubbish, not even eaten.  She tries to be thrifty with her food buying and use most of it up, which can be hard living by herself.   Food planning and cooking for one can often be difficult she finds.  Winter is a bit easier.  Tonight she cooked up 2x carrots/1 parsnip/1 turnip and mashed with some butter, a head of broccoli and a 6x sausages.  This will be enough for 3 nights dinner Sun/Mon/Tues.  Wednesday night mum will do soup and toast, and Thursday night is her night at the hairdresser so she will just grab something on the way home.

Mum tries to make her lunch most days, some fruit and a yoghurt or a sandwich although last week she bought a few lunches at work as she was so tired after her shifts.  This week she will try and do better.

Our day was nice, a little lie in which mum enjoyed as there was a bit of a loud shouting out on the street last night.  Luckily some neighbors called the police and the noise quietened down about 2am. Mum then got up showered and dressed, made herself a bagel and got some washing on.  She then headed out into town and popped into the library and supermarket and had a wander round and enjoyed the fresh air.

So home by 4pm in time to get the washing in before the frosty evening air ruined the days drying, and fed me my feast.  A little nap, cooking her dinner, friends on the phone and the evening is then over.

Hope you had a nice old Sunday too.

Casual Caturday

Last night was freezing here!!  Luckily we had lots of quilts piled up on our bed and I had my merino blankie to snuggle on.  I love it when mum lets me lie on her leather bag on the bed - however I am not allowed to scratch on it, cos that makes her unhappy.

When we woke up it was Caturday and the sun was shining, and it had warmed up quite a bit.  Mum did some chores - exciting ones like dishes and doing the washing.  Oh what a fun day!!!  Actually though she turned some music on, and bopped around doing the jobs.  Then she showered and got dressed and went out for a walk in the sunshine.  She headed into town and wandered round some shops.

She had an hour or so to kill before meeting some friends for dinner, so went for a drink at a bar, which was ok as it was quiet there, and she didn't feel too odd sitting alone drinking her lemon lime and bitters.  Dinner was lovely and nice to spend time with friends, then mum headed home to me.  So I had my little feast and then took myself off to bed, waiting for her to turn in.

Hope you all had a nice Caturday too and did something fun.

Friday Night Laughs

The bed is made and I am assuming my position.  It sure is chilly tonight, with the temp dropping down to 3 deg C.  So the heater is on and the blankie warming up.  Mum had a good day at work, and after work had a walk and went to the library to stock up.  She then went to the supermarket and bought lots of stuff, except the washing machine powder which was the one thing she was going in there for. Hahaha.

She got home and fed me my feast (always the first job needed when she comes through the door).  She had bought some icecream (boysenberry), and had to put that in the freezer, and then  realized that in order to put it into the freezer she had to take the other icecream out, and rather than waste it she ate it.  Dessert before dinner.  So the steak, potato and salad had to wait til later.  Hahaha.

So the weekend is starting and mum and I are going to have some fun!!!  She is planning to do stuff and enjoy herself.  Maybe I will sleep?  Who knows?
