Tuesdaying

This a house round the corner from where we live.  Halloween is not a big thing here in NZ, it is unusual to see a house decorated like this - but it made mum smile on a cold grey day.

Mum and I had a lovely sleep in.  Mum did go and drop off a couple of bags of items to the local charity shop and had some lunch.  She then went for a walk, and stopped in at one of her favorite shops.  The girls were cleaning up as they said there had been an earthquake, knocking a picture off the wall and knocked some bottles of body wash off a stand.  Mum never even felt the earthquake at all.

Mums days are nice and relaxed and slow.  We love a good staycation.

Birthday Bed Linen

Mum likes her new birthday bed linen.  She needed a spring change, and she is not usually a fan of florals, she liked the look of this one.

That's better mum! You put my new bags back.  Within 2 seconds of the bag being back on the bed I was back inside it fast asleep.  So we both have new bed linens!!!!!

Big Bag

Mum cleared this bag out of the wardrobe last night and I have claimed it as my own.  Mum will only let me have it a couple of nights.  She says it is very noisy and very ugly.  So I'm enjoying it while I can.

Caturdaying

Today has been rainy and cool as forecast.  Caturday super was simple and easy, some roast chicken pieces and mums favorite mix.  Potatoes, broccoli and onion roasted with salt, pepper, oil and lemon juice.  Mum said it was tasty.
I snoopervized while mum pulled things out of the wardrobe, shuffled some stuff into bags and some back into drawers.  She found 6 bras that she should put back into circulation and some clothes that could be thrown out.  Mum feels better having a bit of a spring clean.   She is a touch tired, as she couldn't sleep last night and was awake until 4am.  She was happy though to finish one book and start another.  She still tried to get up at 9am, and she was pleased that she did not nap this afternoon, so hopefully she will have a better sleep tonight.

Mum said that the towel on my bed should be binned.  She tried the new one first to get my approval and luckily I accepted it straight away.

We hope you had a nice Caturday and did something fun.

Fridaying

Oh mum is getting too used to sleeping in until 08.30am and reading for another hour.  She did take herself out for a walk to get some fresh air.  Her usual spot go stop at is the library.  She had to return some overdue books and pick up some new ones to read.  Our weather forecast is for lots of rain, so best to be stocked up for the week ahead.

Meghan and Prince Harry arrive in our city on Sunday - we hope they have brought their rainjackets.  Mum was thinking of going down to see them but she will see how much it is raining on Sunday.  I think I will stay home - I need my beauty sleeps.

Happy Birthday Mum

Today is my Mums birthday - happy birthday to you.  Mum slept in and relaxed for the day.  She met up with some friends for dinner which was a nice evening.  Good company, delicious food, birthday cake and a bottle of wine  made mum feel better about being a year older. Mum had roasted lamb with beetroot and a mint pesto with beans and roasted garlic potatoes.  It was at a nice restaurant that was recently voted in the top 10 in NZ - so a great birthday treat.

It is now raining and turning colder.  Mum has got home and will put the heaters on to warm us up.  She has leftover cake - but is too full tonight to eat anything further.

So here's to another year for the Mumster!!

Staycation

Mum is glad to have a little break from work and a staycation planned. Time to relax and take it easy.  She is already enjoying not having to get up between 5-6am each morning, a little sleep in is appreciated.

She got a couple of shots of her friends chickens which makes her marvel at how wildlife photographers get shots.  Getting chickens to pose is rather difficult as they listen less than cats.

Sunny

Today was a glorious sunny day and best if all, a public holiday and mum did not have to work.  She went to visit her friends and this is the view they have from their front yard.  Just beautiful. It was that special kind of blue sky that radiates the heat, even these pictures look warm.
They had a lovely lunch and a walk in the sun.  Mum chased the chickens at their house to get some pictures, she'll share some photos later.  It really felt summery - not the weather we normally have at this time of the year.   Mum even pulled out some sandals to wear on her pale feet.

Me - I had a good day at home, but was glad got back home.

Bliss

Hello Sunday.  Mum went to plan C today which is the one I like the best.  It is the stay at home and relax with me one.  After being out all day yesterday she was a touch worn out.

It was a perfect washing day - sheets and towels are smelling fresh, even the pillows were aired out.  A mountain of dishes were done, the carpets cleaned.  A roast chicken was made with leftovers dished out for tomorrows dinner.

I rolled round the bed, sat in the sun, slept in the garden, slept in my little bed and slept on the big bed.  Bliss.

Busy Caturday

This is mum's friends cat Charlie.  Mum went to visit Charlie tonight as she hasn't been feeling very well and eating much which made her mum worried.  Her get said there is a virus doing the rounds.  The girls got takeaway chicken fried rice for their dinners and Charlie shared some little nibbles which is good.  Mum wonders if this was what made me off my dinner last week too - although mum wonders how I would have got such a bug.

Mum got up early this morning and went off to meet up with her friend.  They went off for a drive and wondered around looking at shops in a country town.  They ate at a French cafe for lunch and had a cool drink in the shade at a nice country pub.

Me - well I chilled out and looked after the house while mum was out.

We hope you all enjoyed your Caturday and did something fun too.

Days

Most of my days are the same.  A cosy spot to sleep and wait until mum comes home.  I find a spot and burrow in.

Mums day was busy, she did make sure that she had a nice walk in the sun too work and after work.  She made some egg and tomato sandwiches for her lunch and had some mandarins and grapes for treats.  She is aiming for an early night tonight.  Lights out by 10pm.  It has been far too many late nights lately and her sore back or cough or other aches and pains have kept her awake early in the morning.  She is off to make an easy supper tonight - Reuban toasted sandwiches - swiss cheese, pastrami and sauerkraut - ohh laa laa.

She finds it hard to watch the news - full of politics and bad news stories.  Mum now skims through it really quickly nowdays and only watches about 5 minutes.  Instead she watches something to make her smile - Ellen, or NZ has started a new version of Gogglebox, a show about people watching television which is strangely compelling.

Spring Time

Spring time in the garden is nice.  Not too hot and everything is smelling green and fresh, and I get to roll around while mum hangs out the washing.  I am not too keen on photo sessions though.

Monday Movie

Mum has a sleep in day which is good as we have played outside in the sun.  She downloaded some photos and spent ages trying to get a little video to load.  We hope you like the photos.

Happy Birthday To Me!!!

Guess what kitties?  It is my 12th Birthday today.  Mum got me the same present I got for Christmas - 3 mega bags of treats!!  She had to use a Christmas photo too, as it was dark and cloudy here and hard to get a good photo, and we both spent most of the day in bed as mum was a bit peaky.  Anyways it is good to be chasing another trip around the sun, even if I am a pensioner in cat years!!

Weather Watcher Caturday

It was a stormy one in the city overnight with wind cold and pounding rain.  I zoomed between the window and jumping on the bed to tell mum how rough it was outside.  So I am tuckered out today.

Mum slept in and then went out to meet a friend for lunch.  She popped into the library and got a couple if things at the supermarket.  The clouds cleared and the sun came out which was lovely.  Mum finished the Game if Thrones episodes she had been watching.  This evening the lights are low, the candles are lit and mum is going to watch I, Tonya.  I had my dinner at 5pm and went to bed straight after to keep warm.

Friday

Mum found this tshirt on ETSY from seller Oh Hello Sparkle.  She says it reflects how she feels most days.  She was glad that Friday rolled round.  After all of our nice weather, we have had a reminder that the cold and stormy stuff can still arrive.  Heaters are on full bore, and it is a tad chilly in the house.  Mum had to come home and have a nap, she is lucky enough to now have a head cold as well as a sore back.

So I have told her to load up on the vitamins, the water and head to bed early.  I have already retired early to get my snoozes on.  A girl has to rack up a good 23 hours a day to keep young.  She has only a couple of goals for the weekend, to meet a friend for lunch tomorrow, to finish watching a series of Game of Thrones she has recorded (she is not sure which one, but they're all good),  watch a movie or two and do a few of the weekend chores.  A couple of sleeps ins for her too, and some easy eating will make the weekend pass by.  She might have to pull out a few jumpers and jacket to keep warm though, as she doesn't have a cute grey fur jacket like me.

Thursday

We have had some sunny days but the temperatures still drop down at night, and lately I have been snuggling in the same spot on mum's bed.

Mum returned to work today.  Her back was pretty sore after a days work and she hopes to get some more sleep tonight.  4 hours seems to be the most she gets before her back pain wakes her up.  So some pain relief before bed should help.  Thanks for all of the well wishes for her.

Mum ran into a friend today, and mentioned that she had had a weird dream a couple of days ago where her friend, his ex wife was in the dream.  On her way home, she ran into both of them together.  She hadn't seen her friend in a couple of years, and it was nice to have a quick hug and a promise to catch up sometime soon.  Mum felt good to have seen her old friends.

We are looking forward to Friday and having the weekend off.  Yippee.

Nest

This is my little garden nest where I like to sleep on a sunny day.  I like to watch the birds zooming around and watch out for intruders.

Rest

It was a beautiful day here in the city today.  Mum filled the washing line, hovered the carpets and did the dishes all before 10am.

The supermarket delivery was booked for a 10- 12am slot, so it wasn't here until 12.15pm which isn't too bad.  It costs $12 for a delivery under $200 and $9 for over.  Similar to the cost of a taxi home from the supermarket.  Mum normally buys small amounts after work, carrying her bags with her.  With her bad back a delivery was a good idea and mum uses it as an opportunity to stock the cupboards and order heavy or awkward things like mega toilet rolls, bags of cat biscuits, big bottles of juice and washing powder.

Mum was unable to get a Drs appointment until late this afternoon and the Dr agrees that mum has sprained her back and has given her a couple of days off to rest.  Mum has a new book to start and is starting on Call the Midwife she recorded earlier in the year.

We had another wee nap this afternoon - I am loving having mum home even if she gives me too many kisses and brushes.

Sunday

Today was a day of test.  Mum's plans for the day were put off until last weekend, so mum finished the last of the washing and watched some shows and read.

Her sleeping is still affected by her sore back.  It awakens her with a throbbing pain and she is even slower to wake up than normal.

She is lucky to have another day off tomorrow and has managed to secure a Drs appointment for the afternoon.  She has also arranged for a supermarket delivery so that she does not have to carry heavy groceries home.

She is feeling a bit of cabin fever though as she has been home sick for so many weeks or working.  She is ready for some fun and to catch up with her friends.  I am glad of her company though.  It is good for me.

Caturday

Hello Caturday friends.  Mum's now gone and hurt her back this week, after working all of those shifts.  She now has trouble sleeping and had to get up and have more Nurofen in the small hours.  She had a quiet day with just some washing and dishes.  A big nap with me helped this afternoon.  Tonight dinner was on the couch watching Paddington 2 - very sweet.

So hopefully she will get better sleeps tonight with less slow tossing and turning for her.

TGIF

TGIF  mum says.  It is finally her days off and she is ready to relax.  She did some washing, went to the hairdresser and got some groceries, took a nap and ate chips on the couch while watching a movie.

I slept in, begged for food, napped, scratched, had some drinkies and took a sleep.

That's what we are going to do all weekend.  Such big plans people.

Almost

Today is day 5 of 7 so mum is almost close to her days off.  She dragged herself out of bed to go to the library and take a walk in the fresh air.  It really feels like spring, mum hasn't worn a jacket the past two weeks, and the heaters have been turned off - yah for a smaller power bill this month.

Complaint

Mum feels happy today that she made a complaint.  Our local bus suppliers have changed and the timetables have been altered.  It left mum with no bus to the hospital on some shifts and she has to walk the whole way.

Obviously lots of folks have complained and they say the are now putting back on the early buses so she can get to work.

Now if they could only fix all of the other issues.
