Still Snoozing

Mum got called in four times overnight and finally got home at 4.30amish.  It takes her a little while to get to sleep, and so she got a couple of hours.  She was then mean to go to work from 1.30-4.30pm, but asked if she could take the afternoon as leave.  It was a sunny afternoon, so I helped her in the garden for a while.  We had lots of leaves to pick up, as it was windy city here last night, and lots of leaves flew down.

Mum went and bought some groceries and then her bed called to her and she had to lie down and have a wee nap before dinner.  Tonight we'll be early birds and head off to the land of nod at a reasonable hour.  Her in her bed, and me on my blue towel.  Sweet dreams everybuddy!!

Sunday Snoozing

Today I have been mostly snoozing.  Mum got called into work three times last night, so she has only had a couple of hours sleep.  She went and joined some friends on an afternoon out  today, leaving me in  my usual spot - and don't worry, the heater is always turned off when mum is out.

Mum wants to apologize - yesterdays photo was an earlier one, and was not used to demonstrate my undertrousers shave.  She will try and get some decent photos  during the week.

Have a good week everybuddy.

Emergency Butt Shave

Mum wonders what kind of people will be doing a search and come and find my site.  Anyways I have been collecting a few crusties in my downtown pants area.  Last night, mum got home and I was a bit smellier and crustier than usual.

When mum got home from jobs I was distressed and very messy down below, and mum tried to clean it up.  I wasn't having any of that and kept running away, and mum thought that this was a job for a professional.  Our usual vets was closed, so we rung up another one that could fit us in.

We went to Central Vets,  and they were just lovely.  The staff are awesome, and mum thought that I was sorted out quickly and given a very pretty butt shave, some flea treatments and lots of good advice.

Now I am back home and sniffing around the garden, and mum finally feels that she can have some lunch and put her feet up.

Hope your day isn't as exciting as mine!!

Corners of Our House

Mum has a thing for blue bowls and vases.  They add a bit of colour all year around, especially in the grey wintery months that are ahead.
Our linen cupboard is pretty full.  So full that there is not room for a grey kitty like me to fit in and have a snooze.
A corner of mums bedroom - she could never be a minimilist like some of the peoples houses she sees in magazines.  We think they look sterile, like laboratories and show no personality.  We like to have some pretties around.
Like these ones, tucked into another corner of mums room.
Our living room has a few sweeties on the wall too - things that makes us smile.

Mum says that she loves to see around other peoples houses, and we hope you liked seeing some of our house.

ANZAC Day Feast

Yesterday was ANZAC day - a day that we remember all the good men and women who have served our country, now and in times of war.  It was a lovely day, and mum was able to go and meet one of her besties for lunch and a touch of retail therapy (two door mats and some garden shears - woop woop).

She also gave herself a two hour tidy up time limit - whacked on the music and ran around and did all the chores at once.  She also gave the local birdies a little feast, some bread and fruits - yum yum.

Home

Mum rung the pound this afternoon, and little scruffy dogs family had been looking for him, and went and picked him up as soon as they opened up this morning.  Mum was happy for him, and glad that his folks found him ok.  Turns out he lives in the street mum found him in, so he must have just of wandered off.  We hope they put some tags on him,  so that next time they can just be rung up.

Mum is glad she didn't leave him sitting on a busy street at rush hour, where he could have been hurt or got lost.  We hope little scruffy dog is having a nice night, back in his house being spoiled by his family.

Scruffy dog

After work, mum was walking home and she found the scruffiest cutest little terrier dog, sitting on the footpath looking lost.  He had a collar on, but no tags.  Mum felt sad for him, and rather than leave him sitting there, mum sat with him, to wait for his mum or dad.  No one came, or was calling for him, so it looked like he must have had a little wander away from home. In the meantime, he snuggled into mum and had  a little snooze.

One of mums neighbours came by and said that she had seen him out there two hours earlier.  Another friend of mums came by, and said one of the ladies nearby would ring the SPCA.  They sent a dog control van to pick up scruffy dog, and he did look sad going with the nice inspector.  Mum felt sad too and had tears in her eyes.

She would love a little scruffy dog like this.  He was only a bit bigger than me, and smelled ok for a dog.  He didn't bark and was happy to sit nice and quiet with mum.  The problem is though that she works long hours, and we don't have a house suitable for a dog.  Also - I might not be so happy with a new roomie, and mum knows that would not be fair.

Poor little sruffy pup.  Mum has searched the local lost ads to see if anyone has listed him as missing, but no luck yet.

Sunday

This was me this morning, we are lucky to have some warm suns still.  We have a big hill behind our house, so the sun disapears about 3pm and it starts to get chilly, but we are lucky to be having such nice autumn sunshine.

Mum went to the local market today and stocked up on fresh fruits and veg, which are so pretty and colorful.  Mmmm lots of nice lunches for her week ahead, and she bought some fresh ruhbarb and made a ruhbarb and strawberry yogurt cake for pudding.

She was influenced by Miss M and her mom Lynne, who did a clean up and got rid of fifty things.  Mum did a quick wardrobe cull and got two bags of stuff to go to the charity shop, and a rubbish bag of stuff to be thrown out.

A good weekend for us both!!

Cool Cat Beds I Would Probably Never Sleep In

All available today on ETSY.  Mum loves them all - but thinks that if she spent the money, I still would choose to sleep on my towel, or in the chest of drawers.

Foods

This week our birdies got lots of extra foods - we had some left over Easter buns, and some grapes that mum put out for them.  They like a bit of fruit and veg, but I won't share my feast with them.

Mum will be up earliesh on Saturday morning, to go to the market to get some more fruits and veg to put into the juicer - tasty.

Hope you all get some treats over the weekend.

Herrooww

Herrowww - thanks for admiring my new apartment yesterday.  I spend most of my nights sleeping in there, and although mum may miss my hefty weight on her legs at night, she says she sleeps all through the night.  Except maybe tonight when she is on call from 10pm- 8am.

This evening though - to my great delight, mum has put a clean towel down by the heater and I rushed to snuggle up on it and have a snooze.  Happy napping everybuddy.

Tuesday

Mum did get some of her jobs done today.  In fact when she woke, the sun was shining, so mum took herself out on a walk.  She did a bit of shopping, got the groceries, then came home and played with me for a while before disapearing to work for a while.

Me - I slept in my new spot all afternoon.

Plans

Mum has shift for a couple of days this week, and she has plans to do some stuff.  Stuff like grocery shopping, cleaning and a little bit of gardening before she goes to work, if the weather holds.  If it all goes to custard, she has a big pile of books to read.

Cosy

It is starting to get a bit chillier here now.  After a stunning Easter weekend, we have now had to pile the blankets on the bed, and turn the heater on the evenings.  Mum has had to dig out all the merino jumpers and give them a wash, ready to wear.  Scarves and gloves are out and ready to be worn.  Our turn for the chilly and cold weather, soups and stews and sleep ins under piles of blankets.

Satttuuurrrrday

Mum was looking at some of the old photos, and she took a bunch of these at the beginning of the year.  They're good aren't they - especially since she took them through the living room windows, while I was outside.

Mum went shopping with a bestie today, they hadn't been to town for ages, and had a good wander around, without cracking the wallet too much.  Chips + mayo at the Belgian beer bar were the treat of the day.  Mum doesn't drink beer, but they did a nice Lemon Lime + Bitters.

Hope you all had a lovely day.

Nesting

This is one of my afternoon spots if the sun is out - the flax growing out by the backdoor.  I have made myself a little nest in the middle, and I snuggle in the middle of it.  Mum always laughs, because I seem to think it makes me invisible, and I always call out to her, like she won't find me.

Hope you are all already for the weekend.

Miss Belle

Our niece Miss Belle, had a wee accident at the beginning of the week.  She was on her speedy longboard (a kind of skateboard), down a steep hill near home.  Well she fell off and took skin off lots of places, including her knee.  You could see her bone and ligaments, so she had to go to hospital and have a little operation on Wednesday to clean out the the wound.  After lots of antibiotics, she is now back home and resting on the couch.

Get better soon Miss Belle.

HARD

Mum says it was HARD getting up at 6.30am this morning.  It was ok - I went back and kept her bed warm for her.   She does say that she is glad that it is a short week this week, and that it will be the weekend again soon.  Have a good week everybuddy - we hope it is not too hard for you all.

Relaxed

We have had four days of sunshine, and lots of relaxing.  Mum has been busy reading imbetween chores.  Today she walked into town and went and met her friends for a picnic lunch at the partk.  It was lovely to chat with a nice fresh bread roll, salad and fruit.   The thought of work feels stressful already.

Did I tell you I caught a real life mousie yesterday?  I bought it inside and dropped it so mum could see it was still alive, she was not too impressed.  She made me find it and take it outside.  When she came out five minutes later, she said it was gone, so it must have runned away.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter Everybuddy - hope you all get to have a relaxing day with your loved ones and a few treats!

Relaxable

Mum says I am a very relaxable cat.  I am more comfortable on the floor than running around.  Today was a good day for that.  Mum was actually up like an early bird as she had to go to the hairdresser.  Her usual hairdresser is away, and the replacement girl is lovely but does not quite understand mums wavy hair.  She says though she is not worried, as it will grow quickly and be ready to be cut again by her usual girl in another eight weeks.

She has a mountain of books to read and lots on the DVR to keep her busy this evening.  She has marinated some chicken nibbles for her, and chosen a fancy feast for me.   We're having a big night in.

Good Friday 2012

Today was Good Friday and it was good - the sun was shining, mum didn't have to go to work and she made me a tent.  Who needs to go away to go camping?  We like to stick closer to home.

Hope you all had a nice day and got a bit of relaxing done.

Party Weekend

Well not really - no parties planned, but four days off is worth celebrating.  Celebrations will start with four loads of washing tonight - and vacuuming the house - woo hoo!!!!

Mum ventured into the supermarket - it was chaos.  Because they are closed tomorrow people were buying quantities of essentials that would last them through an Apocalypse.  Mum was good and stuck to the budget, and got lots of fruits and veg.

Hope you are all getting ready for the weekend and get to spend some time together.

Back

We're back!!!  Mum had a busy weekend with working, and I soaked up the rays.  We got to have today off together and it was glorious.  We both sat out in the garden and mum finished reading the Hunger Games.

She had some jobs to do in town, and went for a walk in the sun, and then went to see the Hunger Games movie while she remembered the story.  She enjoyed it and said it was good to see a strong young female character, who runs and hunts and can hold her own.

We can't believe it is April already, and our daylights savings changed at the weekend with our clocks going back.  That means it is a bit lighter in the morning, and now a bit darker in the evening.  It always takes a few weeks to adjust.  Our adjustment programme includes a pile of books, and marshmallow/choc easter eggs for mum and chicken temptations for me.
