Sleepy Sunday
Today was a great day to have a little snoozathon. Mum went to a local craft fair, which was chaotic even by 10am. She got to buy a few christmas presents, and a few for herself.
She bought an old old iron to use as a doorstop. One of the ones great grandma would have heated up on the coal range, and used to singe her clothes. Mum thought it would put her back out carring it home, as it weighed a hefty 6.8 kgs (15 pounds).
We hope you all had a productive weekend too.

ReplyDeleteCool idea for a door stop. I thought she was going to heat it up to put in the bed to make it nice and toasty for you.

Wow. We hope your mum's back is fine. A small object weighing 6.8 kg is harder to carry then a larger one where the weight is distributed better.
ReplyDeleteImagine using such an iron! I bet the ladies, back then, had a whole lot less time to play with us kitties!
Love the snuggly bed picture..Mum remembers her grandma having one of those.. Greta door stop.. HUgs GJ xx
ReplyDeleteAfter all that stuff your mom did, Poppy, you deserve a good snooze!
ReplyDeletePoppy, glad your Mom had a productive weekend and is taking it easy today. Purrs!
ReplyDeleteYour Mom is smart - I like the idea of an iron doorstop!
ReplyDeleteWe are catching up on sleep too. Looks like you have a nice snoozy spot there!

Hmphh! Blogger just ate our comment. We said that our mum has an iron like that which she keeps on the hearth as a decoration. You look very comfy all snuggled up in your quilt.
ReplyDeleteWe are going to copy our comment this time in case blogger tries to eat it again.
What a cool thing! I think a snoozeathon sound perfect!
ReplyDeleteWe are very happy to meet you, Poppy Q.....purrrs. Our Mom is ohhing and ahhing about the iron. :)
ReplyDeleteI love this photo--blue and blue and blue (or gray and gray and gray), with such a nice dimple in the covers where you are napping.
ReplyDeleteJust tell her not to hit it with bare toes. She might break them!
ReplyDeleteA snoozathon, I like it, now I know what it really is called. You're doing it right!!!
ReplyDeleteOooooh, we love craft fairs. You can always find fun stuff!
