Sunday Snacks

Here I am begging for a few more chicken temptations on mums bed this chilly Sunday afternoon.

Mum went to see Eat, Pray, Love last night. It was ok - she had low expectations, because she had heard lots about it, so she enjoyed it and anything beats watching NZ tv at the weekend. She liked Julia Roberts, and the scenery was beautiful and although she had been told it was long, she didn't find it to bad.

So mum got home at 11pm, fed me, and at 11.10pm I had a bit of a sick up of my dinner on the kitchen rug - nice!! I feel better today, and mum isn't too worried as I am not often sick.

In fact she has me booked for my yearly at the V-E-T on Tuesday anyways. She was going to ask about the yearly vaccinations, as recent publications from our consumer organisation, says that yearly boosters shouldn't be needed in cats. Does anybuddy have an opinion on that? Do you all get yearly shots? Let me know.

Saturday

I can scratch inside too!! Mum says she is pleased that I am still enjoying my scratcher, although she gets worried when she hears the noises, as she thinks I might be practising on the new couch. Ohh ohhh better not do that.

Friday Staycation

Today the clouds are the colour of this photo, and it is a perfect day to sleep indoor, even if you can get close to mums stinky shoes. We are enjoying our staycation, and doing lots of relaxing, books and dvds.

Mum is going to brave the cold outdoors and go dinner shopping, she says Lemon Chicken Risotto for tea for her, and the feast for me!

Snoozing

Just catching up on my zzzzzs while mum is airing the bed. Staycation is going good, mum got lots of things done today, but has a list a mile long of things to do.

Happy Birthday Mum

Happy birthday to my mum. Every year I gets her some jewels, and this year she chose these silver rings off ETSY. They are still getting made, so I had to go in and yowl at her at 7am instead. Then I found that there was breakfast ready in my bowl, so now I am doing a marathon nap.

We want to send birthday wishes to miss Pia in Sweden too, her and mum are birthday twins, same day, same year and same love of shoes and British Shorthair kitties.

Here in NZ, Monday is a public holiday, and mum gets to have a two week staycation with me. The sun returned briefly for a quick hour or two yesterday, but the forecast is for clouds, rain and wind. Oh well!

Mum has been busy sorting stuff out this afternoon, and was looking at some old photos. She found this one of me that she never posted. Here I am looking serious in the back garden - thinking she is not a very good gardener is she?

Oh well.

No Sunbeams today

Sunbeams pleasssssssssssssseee come back to us soon!! This picture was from almost two weeks ago, on a day when we had sun. We know we are moaning about the weather but me and mum are cold, and tired of no sun. Mum wants to get her spring/summer clothes out and bare her turkey white skin to the sun for a few minutes a day, and I want to roll around in the sunbeams.

Instead it is heaters and woolly jumpers on for the peoples and snuggling on the bed for cats.

Boxes

It's always good when you find the perfect size box, not so good when you get awakened from your nap.

The Memory of Sunshine

Last week we had sunbeams, this week we had rain - again. For those of you that aren't sure, here in topsy turvey New Zealand, we are in the midst of spring, although you wouldn't know it by all the rain.

Today we had a break from sideways rain, which was good as it was mums day off. She did loads of washing, and then had lunch with friends and went for a walk through town. A visit to the supermarket and library ended her day well.

We hope you all got your week off to a good start.

It has been crazy cold this weekend, so we have not had any outsides fun. The winds have been gusty and the rain has blown sideways. So mum stayed at work most of the time, and I looked after the house.

Here is me outside, looking in. Today has been windy and cloudy, and the rain is building up so there wasn't too much time outside.

Mum was busy at work, but when she got home at teatime she went out into the backyard with me for a little while. She only pulled out two weeds, but she says two every day soon add up.

All will be quiet here at Chez Q this weekend, as mum is working and I am snoozing the days away. The weather is due to be grey and wet, which is ok with us.

It is my 4th birthday today, and mum has been singing to me all day, I can't wait for it to be over!! It has been raining, so I am rushing to catch up on my 23 hour snoozefest!!

Tummytastic Tuesday

It has been a busy week at Chez Q. We hope you are all having a tummytastic week and finding time for fun!!

Chilly Monday

Today we had a wild cold blast from Antartica, that reminded us it was only spring and it could still be chilly, and not to rush wearing short sleeves and shorts. Mum braved the wind, rain and hail to go out for dinner with her dad. Gdad was in town for some meetings so mum and him had a tasty dinner, then mum got groceries coz she can't sleep well with only a half a toilet roll in the house.

On her way home, while at the bus stop she watched a largish pigeon wandering up the street looking for food. It was 9.30pm and he should have been at home at the pigeon house, instead of wandering the streets, so mum took a slice of bread from her loaf in her grocery bag and broke it up and let him have a late night feast.

Awww mum you softie, now you are really looking like a mad middle aged women, out on the streets feeding the birds.

Just Kicking Back

This is what was happening in the house on Sunday. It makes mum laugh when she comes into the lounge and I am resting on the rug like this. Maybe the rug sellers should use me in an ad to show how cats love the plush floofieness!!

Facts

Facts that mum learned today on Saturday:

• I have supersonic hearing and know when kids are entering the house - my time to exit
• My claws are super sharp - mum shouldn't make me meet the little people
• If you line up at the shop behind the woman with four wallets in her bag, you are going to served after everybody else is gone
• The skies going dark grey is a clue it is going to rain, and you should get all the washing in before it pours down
• It will only pour down once your hair is done and you are ready to go out
• Sometimes I will sleep with mum, especially when she is super tired and needs a quiet restful night.
• When mum is sleepy, that is the best night to go and beg for snacks four times after 6.30am

Helping Mum

I am busy helping my mum to do the Friday night tidying up chores. Tonight we put the best of Bowie on - real loud, and mum did some shuffling round of stuff. Hope your weekend starts off just as busy as ours.

Cool

The past couple of nights it has cooled down a bit, so mum has hit the heater onto high again, and I have enjoyed snoozing on our new rug. The weather man said rains is a coming for the weekend, so we better pull out the dvds and books.

Sunshines

We have been really lucky and had a good stretch of sunshiny days. This time last week we were drenched in rain, but now we have warmth and sunbeams. Of course this means that mum has caught a cold and is sniffly and blocked up - yuck!!!

Mum liked these photos, it made me look like I had a full body halo surrounding me!!

Sunday Sunbeams

Today we had sunbeams til the mid afternoon, and they were very welcome. It is my mums mums birthday, and normally mum would get a big bunch of flowers to remember her mum. Instead before she went grocery shopping she found a pretty top, so she bought it to wear to her own birthday later in the month, her mum would like that.
