Weekend Safety

It is Guy Fawkes here on Saturday night, where everybody lights their crackers and goes crazy.  Our neighbours have been letting some off tonight, but I haven't been too freaked out, but we will be glad when the weekends festivites are over.  The good thing is that our council has a great big free show in town for families which is great.

Oh - and last night our front door got knocked on at 9.45pm.  Mum didn't even think, but got up and answered it.  As soon as mum answered the man, who was nicely dressed said that he had the wrong address.  Mum did ask him who he was looking for (our street is little and only has 16 houses on it), and he said "The Asian Palace", and mum said she didn't know where that was, so he headed off.  Mum thinks that he was either looking for his dinner - or some ladies of poor reputation.  We hope he was just out for a curry!!!1  Usually she wouldn't open the door at such a late time, but it happens so rarely she didn't think about it.

Hope you all have a good and safe weekend !!

  2. Good thing your mum was safe. Our mum did the same sort of thing before, only to realize later she should've been more careful! Lucky them, huh?

  3. I'm glad that stranger who came to your door was not dangerous, Poppy! Since we live in a big city, we would not open the door at that time at night at all!

  4. Tell your mum not to open the door again at the late hour. Or do you have a peephole? If not, maybe she could have one installed.

    Have a good weekend!

  9. You tell your mum to be safe when opening the door to strangers. Any time of day.
