Noisy

I am very crabulated at the moment.  You see the landlords have decided to get our house painted.  So on Friday some men came and set up scaffolding.  Then the past two days, they have been sanding the house.  It is very very very noisy.  It was mums day off and after all her working, she was thinking a sleep in would be nice, but knew she would have to be up and dressed before 8am.  She was lucky that she could take off for a day in the lovely summer sunshine, but I spent the day hiding both under the bed and under the house.

Also because the painters need power, their cord is through my cat door, so it doesn't open properly.  Mum fixed that though today, and will show you the photos later in the week.

So I better get to bed as my sleeps have been disturbed so much this week.

  1. How annoying, Poppy - especially the fact that they did not even consult you about this!

  6. Oh Poppy, the kitties here feel your pain. I needed to get my roof and skylight replaced a year ago and it seriously freaked out everyone as they were SO NOISY. In fact someone left a little puddle in the kitchen right under the skylight!! Luckily that only took two days. Get you napping in when you can!

  7. Ugh! We'd be UTB too, Poppy! We sure hope the painting goes quickly.

On the flip side, at least you have a landlord that actually does something to his/her rental property to improve it/take care of it, which isn't always the case!

  8. Poor, poor, Popppy, dear! My feline family feels your crabulation! When the laundry exhaust was demolished by a storm and therefore had to be replaced from the dryer through the ceiling, the workmen said they could hear all 4 cats a'hissin and a'spittin from their workplace on the roof. I'm sure your mum wouldn't mind if you said a few cat curse words...

  14. Oh my Poppy, you do look the very picture of crabulation. I do not blame you one bit. Nothing is more frustrating that trying to get your sleeps & then being kept awake by the irritating noise of the house being sanded. Running a power cord through your cat door is introoding on your personal door. I am so sorry you couldn't even escape to the outdoors to get away from all the noise & damnation. Hopefully the prep work will be done soon & the stink of paint will soon be over. At least your house will be pretty & protected by new paint when the work is complete. The owner should compensate you for all your trouble he caused you. A case of Feast would be a nice way of apologizing for making a sweet girlcat like you feel so crabulated. I bet if you stared at the painters through the window with that look on your face they might sand a little more quietly.

  17. Goodness! Horrible for you, sweetheart, but lovely the house is getting painted. The cat door situation, now that's very annoying. Glad your mum could remedy the situation.
