Pillow Problem

There are 9 pillows in the house, and mum is busy trying them all in a bid to stop her restless sleeping. She does think the sleeping issues are probably middle aged lady related, but she would like more than a few hours at a time.  She did see a lovely pillow in town but it was $300 for a pillow!!!!  She did  buy a memory foam one to try, but it doesn't seem to help.

She did stop into the supermarket tonight, just to get some feast for me, and some bread for her sandwiches for work during the week.  Tonight, she used some pasta in the fridge with a tomato/parmesan/pine nut sauce that was lovely.  She is on a bid to use some of the food in the fridge/pantry/freezer instead of shopping more at the supermarket.

  1. Poppy, dear, I'm sure you're making a great effort to purrrr your mum to sleep. Have you talked to her about lavendar pillows to aid sleep? It's a very old-fashioned method of combining a herbal scent that relaxes the body with a 'signal/scent' that relaxes the mind. Smells good, anyway!

  2. So...The question for to~day is pillows....!!!
Well...I always buy, and use 'Goose Down'
pillows...My quilt is also 'Goose Down'.
I find them the very best, l have also recommended
them to family and friends...And, now they all use them.
Not a very thick pillow, you may need two or even three.
    Depends what suits you best.

And Poppy!x Tell Mum, if she lays on the side of the bed...
    She'll soon 'drop' off.....! :).
Oh! And, tell her 'not' to eat before bed....Perhaps just a little
    cereal...That's all!

  3. Mom has midddle aged lady sleeping problems too and she says it sucks the big one. She says the best advice she can give is to tell your Mum to go to bed when she is tired and not wait until "bedtime". She also knows with your Mom's working schedule that's hard. Mom says good luck and sends hugs across the miles.

  4. I find magnesium helps. Take at nite. I too haven't slept well since I turned 55. 15 years of misery. The magnesium seems to keep me from waking 3 or more times a night.

  6. $300 for a pillow? Seriously? What special material was it made out of, for crying out loud?!

As for sleep, if your mum finds the secret, share it! Ours hasn't had decent sleep since she adopted cats. LOL. We've heard that it's important to have the room dark, so use black out curtains, don't use night lights, etc. We agree that her schedule makes it very hard to get into any routine. Okay, impossible. And that certainly doesn't help.

  9. Yikes $300 for a pillow....it better be filled with gold!

Mom bean has six pillows (yes six!) on her bed. She has to have a cool pillow to sleep so she's always tossing the pillows around or flipping them over. Appawently sleep studies say one should go to bed and get up at the same time efurryday though with your mum bean's schedule that isn't going to happen! We kitties are furry lucky we can sleep anytime, anywhere.

  10. Yikes. A $300 pillow??? For that price, it should give your Mum a nice relaxing massage and some warm milk, and sing her a lullaby.

  11. I hear you on pillow problems. Sometimes I even go pillow-less!! Good luck with finding one that is comfortable. But $300, for a pillow, that is madness.

  12. Your mum is wise to try to use up the food in the fridge before shopping for more. Mum tried a memory foam pillow but it made her jaw sore. But $300 for a pillow is outrageous. Meow from Jessica
