Working Caturday

Today mum was up before the sun to head off to work for the early start (7am).  She said it was steady but not too busy and pleasant company to work with and before she knew it the work day was over.  In the main foyer of the hospital there is a grand piano by the cafe, and a young woman was playing some awesome music, so middle aged Mum sat down for ten minutes to appreciate the beautiful music before heading home.  She wasn't in the mood for cooking so picked up some sushi on the way home.

Me - I had a quiet day under the deck, but was really happy when mum got home and sat by her side for most of the evening.

So the candles are lit, and us girls are inside ready for a quiet Caturday night.  It is seldom now that mum goes out on a night after working all day at the weekend, especially when she is on call.  Everywhere in town is noisy and hard to hear the phone should it ring.  She also has to work again on Sunday morning, so an early night and some good sleep are in order.  Once upon a time, not so long ago she would dash out and meet her friends, but like her they are all taking it easy too.

Hope you all had a nice Caturday and did something fun today.

  1. What a lovely day Poppy!x That's how it should
    be...One step at a time! :).

Piano in a hospital, sounds like fun, and, a good
idea..Next time l go to the doctor, l'll suggest
it...Cheer up some of the sad faces in the waiting
    area...Perhaps a bit of dancing might help..HeHe!
    Cha~Cha~Cha~Cha! :0).

  2. Such a wonderful "bonus" to your mum's day, the music. :-)

Our biped never liked being out late at night, no matter what the day. Early to bed, early to rise. Your evening/night sounds just perfect, Poppy.

  3. Poppy, dear, your mum is a wise woman to seize the beautiful moments/music when good fortune plunks them in her path. Kudos to whoever placed the grand piano where a musician can work its magic!

  4. When my human worked for a few years in film editing, back in the 1980s, she did 10 hour or more days and then went out and danced until the clubs closed... and then back to work again! As a writer, she needs more of a brain to function these days, but she still keeps late hours.

  5. Live music to end the workday sounds like a lovely thing to our mom bean. Maybe more places should offer it.
Our mom bean's idea of a late night would be when the young one's start going out. It's been that way for many years.

Our Caturday started cool but has warmed up nicely. Hooray for sunny room time!
