Some of my furriends asked about NZ weather. Our country gets some snow in the winter, especially down south. Where we live it is mostly rain, wind and cold. We are lucky, as generally we would describe our weather as mild. We like to complain about it, but we know how lucky we are after seeing so many floods and snow storms during the Northern Hemisphere winter.
Mum didn't mind going to work in the pouring rain today. She wore her boots and spare pants, scarf, hat and gloves and a big raincoat. By the time work had finished, they were finally dry and she put them back on and came home. Then she had tea and toast, and the heater was on.
Hope you all had a good day, and if you have sunbeams - soak them up.
We're glad it wasn't too much of a nuisance for your Mum, Poppy.
ReplyDeleteMy mum got a bit wet today too. Must be the season for it!
ReplyDeleteOur mum spent the winter in New Zealand with her mum and dad in 2006 when dad was overseas. She had to renew her passport, and the first photos she had done were refused because her lips were a bit blue while her cheeks were rosey red. You must be made of tougher stuff! :)
ReplyDeleteIt is still funny to me to look out my window, see sunshine & very HOT weather, yet I know in my mind dat you have winter. But it's still hard to realize cuz we can chat back and forth in a minute or so. I don't kmpw if I'm even making sense, but it kind of blows my mind. I still think of you as being right next door. It's a big world isn't it?
ReplyDeleteWe are expecting unusually high hot temperatures today in Maine, USA! We aren't supposed to get this weather until July and it isn't even June yet!

We're having fantastic weather, Poppy, so yes, we'll soak it up.
ReplyDeleteWe can imagine it's not much fun to be soggy (rain) all winter! The west coast of Canada, where our human grandfather lives, is like that--grey skies and cold, damp rain most of the winter. We hate the cold (okay, our human REALLY hates the cold and snow and ice), but at least we get a lot of sunny days most winters.
We are sending you a PLETHERA of sunshine! Sorry winter is almost upon you. It gives you all the more reason to be a snuggle bug!
ReplyDeleteWe are sorry to see your days of sleeping outside are over for you Poppy.
ReplyDeleteStay warm Poppy. Keep Mum warm too. We have some sunbeams, but tomorrow they will be gone. We are expected to get some rain. Our big Open House at school is on Thursday. It has never rained on Open House. Rusty sends his love.

We've had lots of rain and it's Spring over here. No sun rays for us lately ...

It's supposed to be Spring here in California, Poppy, but we are having one of our coldest months of May in recorded history! Raining here today too, we need tea and toast.
ReplyDeleteI have to say that it is an almost perfect weather day here today, Poppy. 74 degrees F and sunny.
ReplyDeleteMy Mom and Dad would like to visit New Zealand one day . They will try for the summertime. Mom went to University in Cape Town, South Africa, so she knows all about cold, wet winters without central heating!

ReplyDeleteWe think rain doesn't sound too bad for winter knowing how it can snow so badly here. We haven't been to New Zeland but our mom would love to go there - she saw it on this show a few years ago and it looks like such a beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteyes, we do have sunbeams here - in fact its been a bit of a heatwave. We are basking. Love Darcy and Bingley xx
ReplyDeleteI am hoping for sunbeams--I shall soak in them for you if I do!
ReplyDeleteWish we could send you some of our sunbeams. We've got too many! What we wouldn't give for a day with cloud cover.
ReplyDeleteI hope you keep plenty warm and dry!
ReplyDeletePoppy, at least you look warm & dry! We like your Mom's travel gear, our Mommy remembers well living in Chicago and bundling up. (and not fondly!)
ReplyDeleteTea & toast are a great cold weather combo.
We would sends some sunbeams to you Poppy, but we not see the sun here for a week.
ReplyDeleteIs interesting the way the weather works. Thanks for telling us bout it!
Hi Poppy Q thank you for stopping by and signing up to be one of my followers. We have been having a lot of cold and windy, rain is suppose to come in today. Here in Northern California the weather is very unseasonal but it seems like it's like that in a lot of places in the world. Was interesting to read about the weather you are having. Have a great day.

We have a lot of hots right now, Miss Poppy Q. We wish we knew how we could share them with you because we seem to have more than our fair share.
ReplyDeleteSpare pants?
Sounds like a good time for you and your Mom.....toast and tea for her, treats for you. Sitting by the fire. I had a sunbeam in the front window this morning.
ReplyDeleteYour furriend,
Mandu
We don't get much snow here in Texas, but last year, we did!
ReplyDeleteIt has been hotter than usual here again today Poppy, but it is forecast to get colder from tomorrow. We hope it stays dry though.
