Friday Fun

This morning started off all nice and sunny, so my mum arranged to meet one of her besties.  They went to a French cafe lunch, which was a bit blah.  Then they were going to go to the Botanical Gardens to see if the tulips were still standing, but the cold wind picked up, and they went shopping instead.  Mums bestie bought lots of stuff, but mum didn't buy anything, but it was lovely shopping.

At one of the shops, mum had just stepped in when she saw a lady trip and fall about 10 steps landing heavily on her hip.  None of the shop assistants went to help, but mum and another lady did and sat with her til she felt better.  Mum gave her some neurofen and walked her back to her office building.  Mum suggested she took the rest of the afternoon off and went home to lie down.  After mum fell onto her knees in January, her knees were swollen and sore for weeks with big bruises.

So mum and I are relaxing tonight, just taking it easy.

  2. We think that's it awful that none of the shopkeepers/staff went to help! That lady was lucky in that your own mum was there to help, poor soul. Hope she's healing well!

  7. It surprises me that the shop workers did not help! I saw a lady fall going out a shop door. The wind whipped up and caught the mat outside the door and knocked her down. My Daughter and stayed with her. Then an off duty paramedic came out of the store to help. The lady was knocked out for a short time. The lady wanted to get up, but I would not let her. She has a huge knot on her head and we were afraid she had broken a hip buy the way she was laying. We called the ambulance and then she told us her husband was in the car, He had dementia and was not sure what was going on. The shop brought a chair out side for him so he could sit by her but then the ambulance would not let him ride with her. I took her phone and called her son. She was able to help us help her with info. The son was so angry that I had called him because there was a ball game on! I could not believe it! He wanted us, complete strangers, to take his Dad to the hospital. The Dad was not going any where till his son arrived I never wanted to clock anyone as bad as I did hem for the way he treated his Dad! The shop manager was all about making sure every thing was OK. Probably afraid they would get sued!
