Gratitudeness

We had a conversation with a friend yesterday about being grateful.  Grateful for the small things.  Grateful that mum got called in last night, which helps pay for the vet bills.  It also helps that mum got the day off to spend with me.  I have been sleeping all day and are still not quite myself.
Mum also got a chance to go the library and get some good books.  She loves having a good pile of stories to read.
Mum is also grateful that a rainy afternoon prevents her from doing gardening, and that she can sit on the couch and watch Brave on DVD.  She likes that Disney have made a movie with a kick arse girl in the lead.
Mum is also pleased that she could go to the supermarket and stock up.  In fact she went to two today - one  at 7am on the way home, and another on the way back from the library.  Mum loves to have a few rolls on hand - just in case there is a bathroom emergency.  She was beginning to feel anxious as she only had three rolls left.

Mum also got some yummies to have for dinner, and as she is working over the weekend there should be lots of leftovers for all of her meals.  Tonight, as it is chilly she is going to put some lamb in the oven, and make mashed potatoes with peas.  Me I am going to have the fancy feast, as I don't like people food and won't eat the lamb!

Have a lovely day everybuddy - we hope you find some things that make you happy today.

  1. I hope you feel better soon, Poppy. Nice that mom can stay with you for awhile. You would hate it here..it's -30C and windy. Too cold to be outside. Hope mom stocks up on cat-food, too. Hugs, Deb

  3. There is not enough gratitude over here, I can tell you that! I need to remind my human how grateful she needs to be that she has a job - as my assistant!

Leo understands about not liking people food, he wouldn't touch it if it was the only thing left!

  7. Oh, I know just what you mean about feeling anxious to just have a few rolls! I do he very same thing! I buy my TP from Sam's Club, in packs of 36 rolls. Now that's comforting!

Have a lovely day, lovely ladies!

  8. Continued healing purrs, Poppy. Please, please be well...and stay healthy!

You can tell your mum that our human would be panicking if she had only three tp rolls left too. LOL. She buys it in bulk from Costco a couple of times a year, giant packages of 32 double rolls. TMI! LOL!

  9. BTW, the practicing of gratitude can be difficult sometimes, but so beneficial to humans. Our human was giving thanks yesterday for the Godiva dark chocolate truffles and Godiva dark chocolate covered pretzels that were making their way around the office. LOL.

  10. I have the same feelings about toilet paper...

It looks in your picture, Poppy, that your eye is worsening. Are the antibiotics helping? It's frustrating when a condition returns. I hope it goes away for good and soon.

  14. We hope your eye is soon better Poppy. Our mum likes to keep plenty of TP in as well. She buys packs of 48 and when she starts on one pack she likes to go and buy another one "just in case"

  16. We are so sorry to hear your about your eyes. You are still in our prayers, dearest one. Your mum will be with you and you can spend some more lovely time together.

Our mum always keeps lots and lots of toilet rolls on hand at all times. She once flew back to a place she used to live to close up a house. When she got there she picked up an 18 roll pack thinking she'd just wasted money and would end up leaving lots behind. Later that very night, she came down with some sort of .....ahem, bug. Four, yes four days she couldn't venture out of the
house. Thank goodness for the 18 roll pack. She would have been all alone and stranded. Lesson learned.
