Fruit + Veg

Mum filled up the fruit bowl yesterday with more oranges and apples.
Tonight's dinner was easy for me - I got a feast.  Mum chopped up a sweet potato, potato, a green pepper and two carrots.  A bit of oil and salt and pepper.   5 minutes prep.  An hour in the oven and she grilled a small steak.  Delicious and lots of leftovers

And, l think l could sit down to Mums
    feast..looks lovely, and tastes lovely
    to...! :).

Tell Mum, the left overs would be nice
in a frying pan, stir round, and break
in an egg...to bind it all together...
and tell her..easy on the salt! Not good
    for you...!

  2. Wow that is sumptuous, it inspires me to do exactly the same, all I need to do is get a pepper tomorrow. You have such a clever mum Poppy, but you still haven't told me your favourite feast. Perhaps you just like them all. Xxx

  3. Poppy, dear, we middle-aged working women do need to cook with "left overs" in mind. Willie is right about using root veg fried with an egg. (I add just a few crumbles of sweet Italian sausage rather than salt.)

  4. Mmm, your mum's supper looks tasty to our biped! Easy to make too, which is a bonus.

Have a lovely day, both of you. :-)

  5. Your mum could toss in an egg, like Willie said, and make a delicious frittata. A good nom for breakfast lunch or dinner. In fact that's what our mum may do, using the easy stir in recipe, on this chilly, rainy day.

  6. Your mum's dinners are always good, Poppy. And I love fresh fruit in the summer. (Well, almost winter for you, I guess.)

  7. Mum does the veggies on the grill, not so much in the oven.
