Oh no. I was just heading to bed here (11:20 pm) and thought I would check in. Goodbye dear sweet Poppy. I told my cat, Clementine, that we both needed to send good thoughts to your mum tonight. Watch over your mum, Poppy. I know you will be waiting for her and are already having a wonderful time running through fields and climbing trees trying to catch a bird or mousie. Please say Hi! to my gang over there: Bill, Butterball, Greybeard, Moochie, Apu, Woody, Chloe, Chunky Lisa, Figaro, Sweet Pea, Toby, Oliver, and Mica.

I'm glad you had a few extra good days with mun, Poppy, but you and she knew it wouldn't be very long. You had a wonderful life and are loved by many around the world. Rest well Poppy and keep a watch over your mum.

ReplyDeleteI came to read about Poppy's adventures every day; she brightened my life. I hoped she could hold on a little longer, but that was just selfishness. Her mum knew best, that it was time. I'm glad she had that little rally at the end, one more day to feel the sun, one more day with her mum. Godspeed, Poppy. We are less without you.

ReplyDeleteI am so sorry that the time has come to say goodbye, It seems too soon, yet a lifetime has passed. We shall keep PoppyQ in our daily prayers and meditations, and feel she'll have a wonderful rebirth in her new form. Maybe you will meet again one day? Karma is a strange and wonderful thing, and cats I feel create such good karma if we let them.

ReplyDeleteI didn't know of Poppy or this blog until John Bellen said that she had passed on. I've been looking over your old posts, and she was obviously a very special girl. I know what a painful loss this is for you. You have all my sympathies. Even though we're strangers, I think of cat people as one big family.

Please know that Poppy was loved from afar in Kansas City, MO - I know sweet Parker was there to welcome her and show her around. (((hugs))) to you Mom. It is so very hard to lose our beloved ones.
