Just like an episode of 24

Just like an episode of 24 - except blurrier, and without Jack Bauer.

Blurry action shot - new cicada 10:30pm present to mum, Monday 18 Feb.

10:31 Don't you run away bed time snack.

10:32 then I licked him, he sure looked tasty. So I ate him up, all of him.
Bye bye Mr Cicada, it was nice knowing you - sorry I ate Mrs cicada on Sunday night.

  1. Hi Poppy Q, your bedtime snack does look very tasty. That is quite a large bug. We try to keep our place bug free as well. Our squirrels are very tasty, and the fun part is the hunting and the chasing. We are inside kitties, so it is mostly anticipation and entertainment for us. Have a good day.

  2. Huh, I'll have to try one of those cicada thingies next time they're around. Do they taste good with ketchup?

  3. Poor Mr Cicada, at least he'll be reunited with Mrs Cicada in what's hopefully Cicada-heaven. Mm, I know that's kitty behaviour, and it reminds me of my own infamous birdbutcher, but my vegetarian soul aches a bit every time it happens... But, well, Poppy Q, you are a good little kitty hunter!

  6. Oh, man, Reilly and I tried to eat a cicada once and we decided he tasted TERRIBLE! So we left his chewed up body on the lady's pillow as a gift.

  9. It's good your mommy has you to eat all the bugs so they don't bother her. My mommy would jump out of the bed screaming if I brought a bug into bed wif me.

  13. Those are great photos. It's a good thing we don't get cicadas in Brooklyn. However, we get good spiders, which Sebastian and Yaffa love to chase around the house.

  14. oooooooooooo yummmy that is a great bedtime snack. i'll bet you had yummy yummy dreams with him in your tummy! mmmmmm

where we live in Cincinnati, OH we have crazy cicada infestations "17-year cicada cycle" (we also get the 7 year and 5 year ones)
The last big one was in 2004 and people had to walk with those umbrellas that cover themselves completely. They even causes car accidents! It is good you eat them. Keep them from coming to your area.
