Cleaning out the bras

I'm trying to help my mum do a bit of an autumn clean. It's a big job, but we have to start somewhere!!

Yesterday mum heard about a great thing.

It is called Bras for Africa, and has a website here: http://www.breastmates.co.nz/africa.html They are collecting good quality second hand bras to send to girls and women in villages in Zimbabwe, many of whom either have none or few items of underwear.

If you live in New Zealand, Australia or the UK, you can help out, by either sending them to the address on the website, or dropping them into one of the associated shops before the end of May. Luckily for us, one shop is about a 10 minute walk down the road. So mum is going to sort out and wash some of her bras that don't fit her.
We will let you know how many we are able to donate, and also how the cleaning up is going (it may take a while).

  1. I will have my mum do the same thing. She has too many clothes anyway.

  8. What a terrific idea! I've always felt so silly giving my bras to charity, they don't fit me anymore but they still quite good, now I know someone some where will have good use of them. Haven't heard of this particular kind of collecting in Sweden, yet, though.

  13. I haven't heard of any on in the US doing this yet. There may be a couple around here that would be good candidates, but most of them have been worn thin and loose thier elastic stuff.
