Last night, mum thought she felt a bit itchy on her neck/chest area. And when she looked down, you guessed it - a big weta bug like this was clinging to her shirt. I am sure you heard her screams in America and the Uk, they were loud. She pulled the shirt off her, and the big bug scuttled away.
After napalming the bedroom with insect spray, mum found it walking out about an hour later, and she was able to capture it and put it out in the garden.
I meanwhile, was out on the street sniffing rubbish bags and missed all the action.
Aaaaaarrrrrrgghhhhhhh! Those things are creepy! Only NZ kittehs can truly appreciate the ick factor of a weta!
ReplyDeleteOur Mom would have screamed,too!
ReplyDeleteGaaaaahhhhhh! What the @#$! is that?! Our mom has never seen a bug quite like that and hopes never to. Ever, ever, ever. She'd have run screaming from the house in absolute horror. :-O

ReplyDeleteYeah--um my human would still be running.
ReplyDeleteHoly Moly PoppyQ! That's one ugly bug!
ReplyDeleteSo that's what we heard last night! We we're wondering where that screaming was coming from....
ReplyDeleteOk, we are also with Kea - ewww eww eww eww eww!!
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, there was this weird sound that we thought was the wind howling - but we bet that was your mom! And we can totally understand why!!!
AAHHHHHH! Our mom is freaking out. She probably would have fainted out of fright!
ReplyDeleteOMC! That bug is huge. Our mum would have screamed the place down too.

ReplyDeleteOh noooooo! That's so scary! We're glad we don't have bugs that size around here.
ReplyDeleteWe had to hide your post from our Woman. She hates bugs, she's even frightened of small harmless spiders. If she had seen that she would surely have fainted.
wow, WOW, W O W!!!! Your mom's scream must have been very high pitched as all the cats at Possumlady Place twitched their ears in the general direction of New Zealand for a second last night.
ReplyDeleteMy screams would have been so blood curdling that the neighbors would have definitely phoned the police!!
That sure is a scary looking bug, Poppy. No wonder your mum screamed!
ReplyDeleteHoly crap, I would FREAK TOTALLY!
