Mum noticed that the blackbird on the stick looked like the outdoor ornament, that we have sitting indoors in our hallway. Mr Blackbird does look tasty, but I can never catch him. We try and feed him and the sparrows though, as they get hungry at this time of year.
I'm sure they appreciate the food too PoppyQ, that is very kind indeed!
ReplyDeleteI wonder how he would taste in a pie?
ReplyDeleteBlackbird pie sounds pretty good to me. He is a big guy tho, I still think you will need help catching him.
ReplyDeleteThat is a veru cute look alike!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! So cute!
ReplyDeleteWow! That bird's eye scared me at first!
ReplyDeleteim sure the birds appreciate you not trying to eat them!
ReplyDeletehaha, and they sure do look alike!
Yoo will need anovver 23 to bake a pie!
ReplyDeleteSing a song of sixpence a pocket full of rye,
Four and twenty blackbirds baked in a pie.
When the pie was opened the birds began to sing,
Oh wasn't that a dainty dish to set before the king?
The king was in his counting house counting out his money,
The queen was in the parlour eating bread and honey
The maid was in the garden hanging out the clothes,
When down came a blackbird and pecked off her nose!
Mommy said he looks delicious but he may have a family so it's good just to enjoy thinking about catching him. =^..^= but you are so nice to feed the sparrows. They will make great TV viewing for you every day..and good food for the imagination while you look.
ReplyDeleteFeeding the birds is good, that way they hang around your house and it's fun to watch them.
ReplyDeletethat is so nice of you, PQ!
ReplyDeleteWe feed the birdies too. The squirrels seem to be smarter and I think they get most of the goodies. Mommy likes to watch me talk to them at the window. I talk their language. I "chitter". She thinks it is cute (and I get more Temptations).
ReplyDeleteSmoochies to you Poppy,
Rusty
Very nice of you to feed the birdies, sweet Poppy...kisses...Calle, Halle, Sukki
ReplyDeleteThey do look alike. Mum feeds the birds too and we like to watch them.
ReplyDeleteWe feed the birdies (even though the development we live in says we can't).
ReplyDeleteWe get some quail but not much else. We can feed hummingbirds: mum enjoys them but they are too small and fast for us to really appreciate. You're lucky , dear Poppy.
That's a very lovely birdie photo your mewmmie too. And the 'ornament' is cute, too. We have birdie doorstops but they don't fool us...
