Tuesday Today

Today turned into a nice day with a bit of sun shining and mum didn't feel the need to turn the heater on when she got home, although now at 8pm it is a bit cooler and she may turn it on for a while to warm us up.

She had a busy day at work and stayed late.  A few things didn't go her way - when she woke up she felt a bit sniffly again, just as she thought that her cold was on the way out it snuck back in again.  She bought salmon sushi for her lunch which she was looking forward to and when she went to eat it she realized that it was salmon with cream cheese - which she found a bit odd and did not enjoy it much.  As she left work she went to the bathroom and managed to drop her ipod headphones into the toilet bowl and then walking home dropped them on the footpath, but luckily a man walking past picked them up and passed them onto mum.  Luckily also that he did not know where they had been.

So when she got home, she fed the birds who were waiting for her some leftover bread rolls and grapes and dished me out my feast.  She had leftover veg + chicken noodles that she had made last night.  She also had  a small plum pudding that has been in the cupboard since last Christmas - a nice midweek treat!

So now a bit of relaxing for us girls and we are trying for the earliest bedtime of the past week!  Wish us luck!!

  2. We laughed over the iPod headphones! Your mum might want new ones now...or at least to disinfect the old ones. :-D

As for the salmon sushi with cream cheese -- we're not sure how it is where you are, but that's common here (from the sushi counters at some grocery stores). Our biped likes it!

We hope you enjoy sunshine and warm temps for the rest of the week. :-)

  4. After a day like that, I'd go to bed early, too, Poppy. Better luck with tomorrow!

I find that there is usually a point at which a cold seems to improve but then worsens again. I don't know why that occurs, but it usually does. The next time your mum feels better should be the real end of it. And as for the cream cheese with the salmon, maybe the cook was thinking of bagels (ie. with smoked salmon and cream cheese). It wouldn't be my first choice, either.
