Lucky me - I got to go to the vet yesterday to get my summer bikini butt trim. We got a new vet who was lovely; but mum was honest. She said now I am a senior citizen there will be no more diets, no $60 diet/teeth/joint biscuits that I never eat and no stressful tests or surgery unless necessary. I growled a little at mum as she held me so the vet could do her checks. I got a good bill of health except for my arthritic knees, my slightly problematic teeth and my 6.3kg weight.
Mum bought me home and I ate all of my feast and then snuggled up with mum when we went to bed. Best if all no vet bill!!! Mum pays $30 a month for a pet insurance. it pays for my vet checks twice a year, a blood test and some surgeries. Last years dental surgery was free because of the policy.
So we are thankful this Thursday for the good vet visit and no big Bill's and a snuggle on the bed.
We hope that if you are celebrating Thanksgiving that you have a lovely time with friends and family.

Thankful Thursday
Mum and I are thankful for a few things; that mum has a staycation, that the film festival is on, that we had a couple of sunny days at the beginning of the week, that it was payday today, that mum is sleeping ok.
She is annoyed though to have a niggling cough start today. So off to bed early tonight to try and combat the germs.
Me - well I love my mum, sleeping, my feast and temptations. And all my friends. xxx.

Thankful Thursday
The blue skies have ebbed away, and mum is thankful that the rain arrived once mum was only a few minutes away from home, so she arrived mostly dried. Work was busy, and mum was in charge of booking things and getting things organised today, but as soon as she booked five things in, there were 10 more things waiting to be done. So she was thankful when the day was over and she got to head on home. So one more day to get through and it will be the weekend again.
We feel like we are both hibernating on the couch at the moment, but winter can feel like that with the dark long evenings. It is hard to believe that the shortest day of the year will be upon us in a few weeks and the days will again begin to get longer.
Hope you all have a lovely evening too.

Thankful Thursday
I have had a thankful Thursday. Thankful that mum got home at a reasonable time tonight, cos I had eaten all of my crunchie biscuits and was famished. Thankful that the temperatures have not been so cold, and I have a big cuddy mum to snuggle with at night. She gave me my feast, and made herself a big healthy veg and pork stir fry with some rice. Mum and me played with my toy mousie this afternoon. Thankful for all of our friends blogs so we have something interesting to read, and thankful today to see the sun. How we have missed it after a week of cold and rain, and more rain to come at the weekend. Most of all we are thankful that it is Friday tomorrow - awesome!!

Thankful Thursday
Thankful Thursday has rocked around again. I am thankful that the photographer has left me alone for a day or two - being photographic has its price. Mum tries to get as many shots during her days off as she can as the light is better during the day, and the good news is as spring approaches we are getting warmer longer days.
Mum made some Thai Chicken green curry with rice and peas for dinner, with some grapes for supper. I was happy with some of my new dine dinner, it kept my tummy full for four or so hours, but at 10pm I have just popped out of the bedroom to demand my supper.
Mum found at work today about one of her colleagues she worked with ten years ago had died at home, of a heart attack aged 47. He leaves a wife and two daughters behind. It is no kind of age is it?
So we are thankful for good health and we think of our friends and family we have lost far too young.

Thankful Thursday
Mum is very thankful for the long sunny days which she has got to enjoy as she is on afternoon shifts this week. This also means the builder/painters have been able to work swiftly all day and are on track, so maybe only another ten days to go or so. She also likes that my stress levels have been lowered a bit and I am inside when she gets home from work. The hot summer nights mean we now sleep in separate rooms, her in her bed and I have claimed the couch. Life is good!

Thankful Thursday
Mum has lots to be thankful today:
- Thankful that she had enough spare change in her wallet to treat her colleagues to cream buns for afternoon tea, on a busy long day.
- Thankful for the nice bus driver who said that everyone on the bus got their short ride for free this afternoon.
- Thankful to the nice man at the supermarket who gave mum a good pen after mum let him go ahead of her in the line (he was only buying three lightbulbs). Mum loves a good pen.
- Thankful that the sun was shining finally after a long week of rainy/cloudy weather.
- Thankful that I was still at home as the builders were around doing things at the front and back of the new place. That meant I was under the deck the whole day waiting for them to go.
- Thankful that tomorrow is Friday and mum gets three days off to go and do some good stuff.
Hope you all find some things to be thankful for today.

Thankful Thursday
We are thankful that it is Thursday. When mum left work it was raining and cool again, but nowhere as bad as last week when the big storm hit. Once the heaters are started up our little house warms up.
Mum has put down a clean bathmat by the heater for me, and I usually snuggle on it, but tonight I am preferring my bubble wrap blankie on the bed for a while.
Mum is whirring up the washing machine, and getting the clothes cleaned for the week. She has a day off tomorrow and doesn't want to be doing chores.
Our new friend Karen wrote us a comment about our fire alarms last night. We usually change ours on August 1st, but this years battery hasn't lasted a full year. We have got a replacement and changed it already. Unfortunately our landlords are overseas and not available to replace the batteries, mum has to take care of that. We wonder what you think about wired in alarms like our friend Eileen has? We have heard of fires that burn through the wires, turning the alarms off and put people at risk. Most people in NZ have alarms with batteries and these seem to work just fine.
We are thankful that we have never had a fire - fires scare mum.

Thankful Thursday
Mum says that this week, it has been nice to come home and see me, and give me a kiss between my ears. She also has been grateful for the small things, a nice dinner to eat, her friends and family, a warm bed, a good book and the time to sit on the couch and relax in the evening. Not everybody gets to live a good easy life - be grateful for every day, life is short.

Thankful Thursday
Today mum says we should say thanks:
- Thanks to mums nice friends at work who gave her flowers.
- Thanks to our friend Mach at http://machcats-3stooges.blogspot.com/ who is going to help her pussy cats have a blog. Yeah Mach!!
- Thanks to all the men and women who have fought under the New Zealand flag. Tomorrow is Friday, and is ANZAC day, which is a very important day for New Zealanders and Australians (isn't it Pablo ?). This is the only day we are allowed to say we love Australians, so it is very important!!
Thank you also to all our awesome blogging friends. You make all of our days brighter.
