Ds and Vs

Mum had a very lovely Saturday night. She had the Ds and Vs very badly, and felt very bad. Luckily she had washed all the towels on Friday, for she needed most of them. She thinks she had 6 hours of having to get up and rush to the bathroom, til it finished about 3am. She still feels very shaky and weak, and it hasn't all gone away yet. So she is taking it easy, real easy.

So I am joining her, and just relaxing quietly. It has been a day of zzzzzzzs in our house.

We hope you have all had a relaxing weekend too, with none of the drama.

My Friday Friend

Hello lovies, thanks for dropping by for My Friday Friend. Do you know that there are so many new kittie bloggers out there. My bloglist is huge, and we always feel sad that we don't get the time to visit each and every one of you each day. However, we do love to often pop in and catch up on your news.

Sunbeams

Could you help me please - can you tell me how come it is November and it is only 14 degrees C, yesterday was 10 degrees, and we read in the news that Australia was getting 32 degrees?

We know that some of Antartica has broken away and is drifting towards New Zealand. If you send us some sumbeams, it will melt the ice and we will be okay.

An Oldie but a Goodie

You may have seen this picture of me before, but as I have so many new friends I thought I would post it again. It was done by a fabulous ETSY seller, who unfortunately doesn't seem to do them any more.

Mum had a good chuckle at all the great comments to last nights post. Lots of mums ignore the magazines at the supermarket checkout. Mum used to be a bit addicted to the trashy ones, but she broke that a couple of years ago. There are usually enough in the tearoom at work, and mum gets all the gossip she needs online.

Writers Block Monday

Mum was sitting in the lounge, thinking about her writers block. She didn't know what to post about, so she checked her mail. Real mail, not email to see what came in the post today.

Well last week she had been in the supermarket, and there was a big long line to get to the counter, so she picked up a magazine to browse through while she waited, cause an article interested her. Now she never usually does this, cause she thinks it is rude to read it if you aren't going to pay for it, and also when she buys a magazine she doesn't want one that has been thumbed through by someone else. So in the past 20 years, she might have only done it once.

Well today, in the mail, one company was thanking mum for her business with them by sending her a free magazine.. Guess which one she got?

Yup, you guessed it. The one that she thumbed through at the checkout counter. That will teach her. Now she'll never ever do that again.

So what do your folks do? Do they flick through the magazines at the checkout, or do they leave them?

Let the furtan begin

Today, we have some rays of sunlight, so let the furtan begin. Mum is working this weekend, but will try and sneak home to get some chores done. She did all the groceries, washing and bedmaking on Friday. Now she just needs to do some other wee jobs and she will be happy. I am in charge of guarding the house from introoders.

My Friday Friend

Hello Friday, meet my new friends Kolohe and Prada who live with their folks. You can find their blog here:http://pradawada.blogspot.com/ and it is called The Devil is Prada.


This is Prada, in her Halloween gears. Her family found her as a kitten wandering around, and took her home where she is causing a bit of mischief. She likes to eat fruit, shred toilet paper (her brother unravels it) and cause a ruckus at home and the vets. We like a girl with spirit.

This is Kolohe, which is Hawaiian for rascal. He has a crooked tail, and his mom rescued him from her grandmothers backyard, with his sister and brothers. He is very talkative, and likes to purr, sit in the dryer and puts up with his sister.

We hope you get a chance to go and visit our new friends as they haven't had many visitors.

Thunderbooms

Tonight is Guy Fawkes night, which means big fireworks in town, and little firecrackers in the neighbours gardens. Our vets emailed us advice, like stay inside, hide under the bed if you need to, and pee early in the evening. Of course as soon as the big display started in town, which sent big thunderbooms around town, well that's when I wanted to go outside. Once it finished I came in for a sleep. No thunderbooms are goin to keep me out of my garden.

New regulations have meant that shops can only sell fireworks 3 days before the 5th of November, and the shops seem to have reduced the amounts they sell by 80% compared to 10 years ago. So there were not too many in our neighbourhood.

Sleep Patterns

Mum estimates I spend 20.5 hours sleeping a day. For the other 3 or so hours, they are divided into eating, pooping and sitting out in the garden watching my birdies.

Hello November - Nice to meet you Neville

This is where mum sat and ate her lunch today, down at the marina. Every Sunday there is a market down here, and everybuddy goes and buys their fruit and veg for the week. After stocking up on carrots, lemons, grapes, strawberries, cucumbers and chillis mum sat down to eat her subway sandwich and read her book in the sun.


The sun was very welcome, after a wet and cool October, mum says it was nice to wear her sandals.

While she was there, this ginger cutie Neville came over to say hello.

He was very friendly and had a collar on. There are lots of new posh apartments nearby, so we think he must live there, unless he lives on a boat!!

Mmmmm does it smell fishy there Neville?

Bargin Shopper

About 18 months ago, in a time when the sun shone and it was hot!!! (a long long time ago), mum bought some sandals on sale. Now she never got to wear them, as the sun disapeared and once she got them home she realised they were a bit small for her. So in the great shoe clearout of 2009, she photographed them and listed them on trademe (NZs own version of Ebay).

Til last night, when some observant soul noticed that they were two left sandals. Mum hadn't noticed, she was very embarassed, and annoyed that she had recyled the box they came in last week, and she didn't have a receipt.

Anyone with two left feet, that would like some pretty red sandals? Anyone with one left foot who would like two free sandals for the summer?


Luckily I don't wear shoes. That will teach her for not checking in the box, before she left the store. Lesson learnt.

My Friday Friend

Hello friends. We wanted to introduce you to a special friend we met this week, and I know many of you have met already, but we know we have friends and family who don't get to meet all the fabulous kitties and their people that blog.

Why is she fabulous?
Well - she has a Q in her name, she raises money on ETSY for shelter kitties, and even though her shop is called Ugly Kitty - we think she is wonderful.


This is Quasi, who adopted her mum Renee in 2005. At first she was very very scared, and hid under the bed, but then she got brave and started exploring. Now she likes to lick her mom, and share the covers (just like me!!!).

They are not sure what caused Quasis unique look, maybe some type of cleft lip that connects to her eyes, resulting in vision out of only one eye. Doesn't slow this girl down though.

Grey like me

The yellow clouds last night bought some rains, and very very cold days.


So I decided to catch up on my sleeps.

You can also see my mums new grey quilt, her bestie friends got her.

Yes it does match my furs, and yes I have furminated it already.

I sleep on it at night, and during the day I sleep on the other part of my mums bed.

Howdy

Here I am resting on the beautiful new quilt that mums friends got her as a purrfday present. I have been trying it out and give it the Poppy Q 4 paws up.


We got to see some of these skies at the weekend, but it has been grim and grey today.

Although the red sky tonight, promises a better day tomorrow.

We were sad at the weekend to have a death in the family. Yes mums GHDs were making bad noises and smells, and had to go to the GHD bridge.

Mum had to spend a fortune to buy a replacement, but we are sure they will be happy with their new home.
