Easter Break

Yippee Easter break is here.  Mum didn't get much sleep last night, she tossed and turned and only got a couple of hours of snoozing before getting up at 5.30am to head to work.

When she finished she had a couple of jobs to do before going to the supermarket.   A bit of a storm is heading our way and with supermarkets closed for Good Friday, people seemed to be shopping for the Armageddon.   Mum got our supplies and got everything home before the weather got worse.

We have all been advised to stay home until the storm has passed which is fine with us.  Mum has a stack of books and I have lots of snoozing to do.

  1. That is such a sweet photo of you poppy. You get more beautiful by the minute. Millie lost weight after her 2 bite attacks so gets sardines for lunch as well as constant supply of nibbles. She has such a tiny appetite. At $250 a vet visit I sure hope she gets no more. We will just be eating sardines and nibbles at that rate.
Any suggestions from anyone how to keep a mean cat away ?
Hope mum sleeps better tonight. Have a happy Easter both of you Xxx

    1. One thing of course is noise...
      Cat's don't like loud noise..So,
how about try, clapping your hands
      together, loudly, when this mean
cat comes near! And 'shew' it off
      at the same time!

    2. Thanks Willie,a good idea but I have never seen it or heard it. All well at moment because Millie is keeping warm inside and still recovering - on my bed! We are having a rough time in New Zealand what with storms and earthquakes. It is not a very nice world now is it !

    3. A first-class water pistol, kept "locked and loaded" in the 'fridge, might offer poor Millie some "cover" when she ventures out again. (Although with the weather you've having in NZ, the marauder might think it's just another storm.)

  3. Poppy, dear, this is a splendid opportunity for you and your mum to catch up on snuggles and snoozing (and perhaps snacking).

  4. Happy Easter weekend to you both! Stay snuggled in and cosy.

Stores are closed here on Friday too, as well as Easter Sunday. It will be a zoo out there today (Thursday) and on Saturday too. Oy!

  5. Wow, it sounds like a bad storm. I'm glad your mum laid in all your supplies. Now the two of you can be warm and cosy for the Easter holiday.

  6. Good to be prepared for the worst and not have to worry. Maybe you can catch sight of the Easter Bunny on his rounds.

  8. Just hunker down and stay inside. Mum laffed when she read that your stores are closed on Good Friday. When she was little she says they closed from noon to three PM for church services. But never were closed all day. Now, it is rare any store is closed. Unless it is a small place.
