Scaredy Cat
Mum says I was a scaredy cat when her niece Belle was staying. I wouldn't let her come near me, and I kept running away from mum. Now she has flown home, and I am running and skidding around the house almost like normal. I did worry mum though, as when she got home at 4pm, I didn't come and see her til 6pm.
Mum thinks I need more visitors so I get used to them, I think less visitors is a good idea.
Are you a scaredy cat, afraid of visitors?

I stay out of the way til I am sure I like the visitors. You can never be too careful.
ReplyDeleteWe hide from our visitors until they have been to our house a few times first.
ReplyDeleteCool picture! I'm always afraid and hide from the visitors here!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite place to hide is under my sister bed! :)
Happy Weekend

We agree, less visitors. Unless they bring gifts. Or admire you the whole time they visit.
ReplyDeletePatsy is a scaredy-cat doggy! She doesn't like any visitors either. She doesn't see the need for anyone else to be in the house that doesn't live here full-time, and either spends the whole time on my lap when I have a visitor or hiding beside the bed!
ReplyDeleteLess visitors is always the best idea! Whenever there's visitors, I put on my invisible coat! :D
ReplyDeleteKIng and Pandora (and now Cricket) are Social Butterflies, while Skeeter used to be, but we think she's getting a little wacky in her older age, so she's been more visible with company! But, we'd be MORE than happy to come "visit" you, Poppy!
ReplyDeleteI used to be a real true scaredy cat. I didn't like visitors at all. I'm still not a big fan, but I'm getting better. I fell in love with my mum's dad when he was staying, and I have nose kisses with my mum's friend's two year old. Fui is a lot braver than me. We both bolt when we hear the doorbell though. Ronny is a trollop with visitors. Children!:)
ReplyDeletePeople don't know there are cats in the house if they come over! Then all they see is a streak or two.
ReplyDeleteYour furs look darker today, very nice.
I'm okay with some visitors, and more shy with others. it seems if they own a cat, I seem to know that and like them better. Children and teenagers are a mystery to me, so I am not surprised you were a bit of a scaredy cat with Belle. Though maybe you could have warmed up to her after a day or two.
ReplyDeleteWe don't like visitors much either, Poppy, especiall new ones...so you're not alone...
ReplyDeleteWe love visitors. Especially with big, warm hands.
ReplyDeleteEric: I like to meet our visitors as it means extra scritches and maybe treats. Flynn is a scaredy cat though.
ReplyDeleteFlynn: I am not a scaredy cat! I just choose not to socialise with visitors. I prefer to hide, I mean sleep in the bedroom where it is quiet.
We're sort of wary of visitors, but will creep out eventually (once we've made sure they are okay).
ReplyDeleteSammy and Moosey
My what big eyes you have PoppyQ!
ReplyDeleteWe don't like hoomins either. 'Cept our Mom.
ReplyDeleteI definitely do not like visitors of any kind. I stay under the bed the whole time.
ReplyDeleteLove pic of you!
Purrs,
Lucy
Raymond is scared of company, depending on who it is. I LOVE company, because I love attention. The stove repairman came over on Thursday and I tried to assist him, while Raymond hid under the bed.
ReplyDeleteMaybe once your company has been to your house a few times you will be less scaredy. Have a good weekend Poppy! xo, Busby
Poppy Q, I am scairted of visitors, too. If I even hear the doorbell ring, I run and hide under the bed!
ReplyDeleteI sometimes will hide, but never for very long. If they are very loud visitors I may hide for longer. My sisters aren't hardly ever scared.
ReplyDeleteIt depends on how tall they are. Short visitors are good for nothing. Taller ones can get cat treats and they pet pretty well. I like to stare at the old ones. Mom says I'm messin with them. It's fun!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Rusty
Many of our friends and family didn't believe we had two cats as Bob hid the whole time they were in the house but as the front door clicked shut he would appear at the kitchen door!

ReplyDeleteprada doesn't like doggie visitors...
ReplyDeletedear, my cat Meg is just like you! she doesn't like visitors. well, maybe some. but when somebody comes to visit us, she hides herself under of the bed and stay there for hours... hehehehe...
ReplyDeletekisses, dear! have a great sunday!
I don't like visitors in my house, either.
ReplyDeleteI adore visitors! My momma loves them even more than me. Bennette also likes visitors. The rest of our family runs and hides. They don't know what they are missing.
ReplyDeleteNo, we are pesty--jump on their shoulders and scare them; scratch on their pants and make them think we are going to climb up them and Brighton body slams everyone---got to get a movie of that!
ReplyDeleteI used to be a big scaredy cat when it came to men. Their loud footsteps and deep voices scared me! Even when Mommy and I stayed at her parents after Mommy's surgery, I ran from her Dad. He tried really hard to win me over, and eventually I got less scared. Over time I met more men and now I am not scared at all! Mommy's dad can even pick me up and pet me now!
ReplyDeleteLexy and Samson and Baby all like people too, though Baby hangs back a bit. Samson used to be wary, but now he follows me to meet people.
Mom says I can be a pest demanding attention from everyone!
Crystal is our official feline greeter, the rest of us kits are more reserved at first. The pups -- well, they are dogs. They meet everyone with barks and jumping.
ReplyDeleteHere at Casa Furry Bambino, there are a variety of reactions to visitors.
ReplyDeletePadre: Skittish; Vanishes for visitors
Meerkat: Skittish; Disappears upstairs
Panda Bear: Studies visitors from afar
Cookie: Mellow, sits in middle of room among visitors
Caramel: Plays with visitors if they play nice
Hey, I know that look!
ReplyDeleteIt's 10 milisecs after the door bell has rang and we (Stepan actually) are just about to fleeeee to the deepest closet or under the bed. We can take a nap there too while the (un)friendlies are at our home, cool!
