These are pictures of the areas close to the quake - NOT where we live. It was centered more over Kaikoura on the coast and we have heard that there were 2 deaths. In our town there has been a bit of damage to buildings and we have been told not to go into the city center. Mum did have some plans to get some stuff done today, but she is happy to stay at home and read her book and take it easy.
All of her friends are ok. One suffered some breakages at home and lost power. They were also evacuated to higher ground because of where they live but they are fine. We still are Tsunami warnings in place so no picnics at the beach.
So mum better get dressed and go to the supermarket before the rain arrives.
So scary! Be safe and be well. Purrs and Light to all who need them. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are okay Poppy and mum. We send our purrs to all who are affected by the quake and tsunami.
