Holiday part two

Blogger is mixing up the order of the pictures we are trying to post. Anyways these are some of the little country houses in the next town that mum stayed at.



Martinborough is a small country town that is in the middle of what is now a large wine growing region. Lots of these houses are owned by rich townies, and can be hired for the weekend.



They are very sweet, and all a 5 minute walk to the local pub, supermarket and cafes.

Luckily most retain their original features, and haven't been torn out and replaced with modern houses.

This is the one that mum and her friends stayed at. It got lovely morning sun, and you could sit on the porch in the sun, next to the lavender and drink your fresh orange/grapefruit drink squeezed from fruit that grows in the back garden.

Mums Holiday

Hi everybuddy. We are back home now, and thought we would share some of mums snapshots. Mum went for a holiday for her purrthday to a wee town called Greytown, with her friends. This was the nice bedroom she got to stay in.........

.........which had a great fountain outside with real live fishies in it. Boy mum, you should have let me come and stay with you.

This is the nice little back garden. The wee house at the back is where they cook and do the washing.

Mum says it was a lovely weekend away and she would like to thank everybuddy for the birthday wishes. Especially as her birthday is shared by a couple of her lovely blogging friends.

Tomorrow we will show you the other place she stayed.

Happy Purrthday to my Mum

Today is my mums purrthday!! She is very old today and is going to go and celebrate with some friends for a few days!! That means I has to go to the kitty cattery, so I will see you all in a few days.

Spring Rain

We have had lots and lots of spring rain........

So lots and lots of weeds have grown,............

when it stops raining my mum will help me garden.

My mum better get busy. We need to get going before more weeds grow.

Puppy Mills

Mum thought you would like to see these pictures of me walking around the garden. She wanted to say that she watched the Oprah show on puppy mills last week. Boy, that made her sad. It talked about in the US where demand for cats and dogs at pet stores, has resulted in breeders breeding cats and dogs in cages like chickens and other livestock. Many of these breeding mothers never get any medical care, never get to run around, never leave their cages and most importantly never get any love.

It said that 99% of pets in pet stores are bred this way(in the US). Then at shelters people are not adopting the cat, kittens, puppies and dogs there reslulting in thousands being put down every day. That bit made my mum cry. All those lovely pets being destroyed because people don't understand.

Now mum bought me from a nice breeder. She interviews you and won't let her kittens go to just anyone, and you have to go and visit with her before you can take your kitty home. She was a vet nurse too, and lived on a large rural property with lots of rooms for her kitties and their parents.

All the other kitties mum has ever got have been from either a friend, been stray cats or have come from a shelter. Mum says that she knows lots of other beans were shocked by this show too. Please if you would like a cat or kitten to join your family, please visit your local shelter and give a wee sweetie a furrever home.

Sunday Jobs

Today the sun chose to shine,............

.........so I helped my mum in the garden.............

...we pulled out some weeds........

........and moved some rubbish............

......and enjoyed looking at the blue sky and the green plants.

Solutions for a Cold and Rainy Day

Flea be gone

This is the flea treatment we uses every month. Mum didn't just pick it cause the cat on the front looks like me, her vet recommended it. But we think the fleas are immune to it now. So we are going to try some REVOLUTION flea treatment.

One of mums work colleagues said her kitty cat had the same problem - and guess what? Her name is Poppy too!!

We'll let you know how the new stuff goes.
