Fun Day Six - Sunday

Fun Day Six - Sunday
After three glorious days of weather, the rain and cold returned today. So we thought we would share these pictures that mum took of me the other night. I was having fun outside and wouldn't come inside to go to sleep. It was after midnight, and mum came out and took some pictures of me rolling around on the footpath. Please don't worry, our street is very quiet, and I am scared of being picked up so I run away from any strangers (and my mum). There are also no dogs in our street, or any wild critters like bears or snakes. Just me and the bugs.
So for fun, I like to roll around in the dirt, and sniff the cars tyres. This street cone has been left by kids outside our place, and I like to roll around and sniff it too.
My mum had some fun today, she met a good friend for lunch and a movie and then bought some yummies for tea. She made a salad and chicken wrap, and some watermelon. I got a fancy feast, and now I am curled up on my quilt.
One more day of fun to go!!

Fun Day Five - Saturday

For Fun Day Five Saturday - we're sharing more Poppy kitten photos. Aren't they sweet? Little Poppy checking out the flowers.

Mum today met up with some nice friends and had lunch with them at the zoo. They also stopped off at the SPCA, and mum donated some money to them - by cleaning out her wallet of loose change.
Today was hot, hot, hot in the city - so mum let me have temptations and a water bowl out in the shade after dinner.
Tonight mum is making the bed with fresh Saturday linens, and then we are going to relax on the couch and watch a dvd.
Every day this week, we are making a conscious choice to do something fun, that makes us happy. The weather has been grim, the news is always bad and we need to finds some things to make us smile. We hope you can join us!!
We challenge you and your beans to do something fun over the weekend, let us know your ideas!!

Fun Day Four - Friday

Lets see what we got up to on Fun Day Four - Friday
  • Mum found this folder of kitten photos of me that she had lost. Look how little I am!
  • In the morning, mum gave me lots of pets and scritches while I was lying on the spare bed.
  • Mum got her hair cut and coloured and had a great time laughing with her sylist and colourist.
  • Mum got to meet up with a good friend for lunch, and had lots of laughs over bagels.
  • Then she went shopping and managed to get a couple of nice tops that were 75% off, and even a wee bit trendy, without blowing too much of the budget.
  • On her way home, mum got to stop at a local shop while the owner was locking up, and got to pet and hold the owners dog, who is called Poppy too!!
  • Mum cooked her fave dinner - Lemon Chicken Risotto with fresh summer peas and she also made herself a big fruit drink filled with lots of ice.
  • After dinner, mum rang some good friends and arranged to go to the park with them tomorrow.
  • She also gave me my favoritist Fancy Feast and gave me lots of pats in the garden.
  • Tonight, I am going to let mum lie on the couch and watch a DVD, while I sit in the backyard and listen to all the summer noises and smell the garden BBQs.

Fun Day Three - Thursday

Welome to Fun Day Three - Thursday. We had lots of washing to get on the line today, and the early morning was cloudy with a high chance of drizzle. Never mind, we still got a few loads out. As you can see, I assisted with the washing by drying some underwear with my body heat.
The afternoon turned hot and sunny, which has been rare lately, and after mum changed the bed linen on the spare bed I had a big long nap. I love fresh cotton linens in the summertime.
What did my mum do for fun? Well today was spend no money funday. So she has got on a facemask that she had already in the bathroom cabinet, and she is going to give her face a good scrub. Then she is going to put the Zumba on, and dance around the living room, and as it is warm the curtains are open and I am sure the neighbours will be laughing - what fun for them.
After that, she is going to have an earlish night, and start a new book!!

Fun Day Two - Wednesday

For Fun Day Two - we had sunny skies finally, so mum made a yummy tea and ate it outside. Lots of vegetables and when she has done some chores (and after The Big Bang Theory), she is going to make herself a yummy mix of icecream, strawberries and blueberries. She is going to paint her toenails a new colour while she watches the tv too!!!

Because I was soooo good for the vet, mum bought me a new scratching pad. We got rid of the woody cheap catnip that came with it and used some fabulous local made catnip. Did it work? Have a look!!

Thanks for all the nice comments about our fun week. Last night I came for a cuddle on mums lap and sat for a whole 6 minutes, which mum says I haven't done for months!!

Fun Day One - Tuesday

For our Tuesday , which is Fun Day One - mum decided to hang up all of her Aunt Cookie picturs including this one. In fact it was time for her to take down the christmas decorations, shameful I know!!

She hasn't quite got the arrangement right, but she likes having them up on the wall. They make her smile.

Mum went to the supermarket and bought lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and had steak with onions, peppers and courgettes for dinner. After tea she played the music real loud, with Paloma Faith on the stereo, and lit some new vanilla candles to make the house smell sweet. Then she started putting the pictures up.

For my fun day, she unpacked a box she has had for ages and let me play in the box!!! Yippee!!

Let's Have Some Fun

What do you mean No Work Today?

You are going to stay snoozing on my pillow past 8am?

No Biscuits til 9am?

What is the world coming to?
It is anniversary day of something, here in Wet Wellington. So even though mum still has 100 chores to do, she might just go off to the movies. After a big old lazy sleep in. She's in her room, and I'm plonked on my pillow in my room.
If you are about to start your week, we hope it is a good one. Have some fun, do something silly, something frivolous, buy some cupcakes, dance in your pyjamas, wear some bright lipstick, light a nice candle, talk to a friend, write a letter, put your fanciest linen on the bed, read your book out loud, try on a new perfume. We'll let you know what mum does. She's going to do something fun each day this week. I hope I get to play too.

Weekend

The weather has turned chilly again, so I have resumed my spot on the pillows in the spare room. Mum says we will have visitors later in the week, so she will have to wash all the sheets and cases, so enjoy it while I can. We worry about getting them washed and dried as our forcast is for rain til at least Wednesday.
Some of our country, especially the farms up North have been having a drought, but here in Wellington, it has rained every weekend since November.
Hope you all have a fabulous weekend.
Smooches

Sleeping Outside Night Two

Last night, mum thinks I slept outside in this chair. It was a little bit hot, but tonight it back to Wellington summer chilly. The weather office says we haven't had a weekend without rain since November. Still, we shouldn't complain. We have lots of foods and a good place to live, if you wants to sleep inside.

Have a great weekend everybuddy.

Sleepy Spot

This is my new sleepy spot. After months of summer, we finally had a hot, hot day and a hottish night. Mum can't decide if I wanted to sleep outside because it was hot, or because I went to the vet and had my jabs.
Her old cat Puss Angel, moved out onto the front porch for about 8 months, years ago. She had a big dog bed and a polar fleece blanket on top of a pillow. She loved her spot, rain or shine, and mum would have to go out if the wind or rain changed direction, and move her bed to a more sheltered spot.
So, mum can't wait to see where I sleep tonight. At the moment I am out lounging in the back yard. Sweet dreams friends.

Tricked by a Slice of Ham

Today, mum made a special 5.15 appointment for me to go and get my jabs. She started looking for me at 3pm. She thought she might have to cancel again.

She got my dish and knife out, I wouldn't come in. I meowed at the sight of the fancy feast, but I wouldn't come near her.
Finally she remembered she had some ham in the fridge, and the wrinkle of the deli bag enticed me to my plate, where she did a grab and push into the PTU.
Jabs completed, vet test passed - thanks Natalie!! Now I have been under the house for two hours, and mum hasn't seen me. That will teach her.

Prince

Today, a Prince came to mums work, not to see her in particular, but when mum arrived at work she had to wait only two minutes for Prince William to pass by on his way to visit the childrens ward at the hospital. Mum got a quick glance, he looked tall and handsome, and was smiling broadly. Mum and a couple of her friends stepped out of the way, and said good morning to our Prime Minister, his wife and other ministers as they passed. They smiled, and said hello and "get back to work".

This is our Prime Minister John Key taking Prince William out for dinner. I think he did offer to help cook the steak, while John downed a couple of beers like a good kiwi bloke. It made the front of the paper today, and we all laughed.

Mum didn't think that it would be such a big deal, but actually everyone was really happy to have seen the Prince. He shook hundreds of hands, smiled and talked to lots of people at work. When he went to the childrens ward, he stopped and spoke with each family and child there, posed for photos with the staff and we think he did a super job.

Mum still remembers the day she saw the Queen up close. It was hundreds of years ago, when mum was at high school. The Queen was visiting, and mum and her schoolmates were asked to put their uniforms on and go, even though it was a school holiday. Nerdy mum did what she was told, but the Queen did stop and mention what nice uniforms we were all wearing.

So that was mums brush with royalty today. I had a royal day today - lots of queenly napping.

Dreaming

One day, someone will invent the silent camera, or a quieter mum. I don't know which one is noisier?

Visitor Advice

When you have visitors:
  • Make sure you rub against their clothes, so that they go home with some furs. Make sure the clothes are as dark as possible.
  • Purring or making any other cat noises, will be seen as being cute and friendly.
  • Do not let them know, that you are actually telling them that they are sitting on your seat.
