Monet and the Fancy Feast

Yesterday I let mum brave the rain, and go to the museum to see the Monet and the Impressionists exhibition. She said she had to wait for 45 minutes in a long line to get in, and she had the least grey hairs out of anyone in the line. It was an ok show, not many paintings, and lucky mum has lived in London and got to travel and see some beautiful paintings, many super large ones. Mum did love the lilly pond Monet like the one above, and it would have looked beauoooootiful above our bed.

So I made her give me more catnip on my scratcher and a can of fancy feast before she went, and I got another one when she got home. Awesome!!

Forecast

This symbol is on our weather forecast til at least Wednesday of this week. Do you think mums washing will get dry on the line?

So I have forecast this til at least Wednesday too!! Four complete days of snoozing. You might notice that in this picture I am taking a snoozle in front of my little cupboard of love (the one full of fancy feast). Just in case mum comes near it, and decides to give me some!! Come on mum, I know you want to - just one little tin!!

Hello little track toy. Today was a bit miserable, so I had a bit of a roll around and a play, oh and then I snoozed. Good times.

Flower Friday

This was mums sweet girl Puss. She is my angel cat who looks after me.

Mum realized when she looked back over photos that we like to sit in the same space in the garden. I of course, have to sit in a few more weeds.

Tomorrow is a special day for me, and my Aussie pals Pablo , Huffle Mawson and especially for Fui and Suey . It is ANZAC day, our own poppy day. We remember all the brave men and women who have fought for our countries.

In the first world war, New Zealand and Australian soldiers were sent to the coast Gallipoli inTurkey, to try to fight for a small area of land that would allow access to an important supply route. The penninsula, an area of rocky outcrops was defended hard by the Turks, and this battle that started in the morning of April 25 1915 played an important role is shaping three nations, Turkey, Australia and New Zealand.

In 1995, I was lucky enough to be able to visit Caanakle, and the battlefields, cemeteries and Gallipoli coast. It was a perfect sunny late summer day, and everyone was moved by the graves of those young men, who died so far from home. Especially when you think that many of them were under 20, and so many of their famalies would have been unable to visit their graves.

Turkey was a wonderful holiday destination, the people were always welcoming and gracious. We laid our flowers on the graves and wept tears for all of those who laid buried there. Tomorrow, and every day we remember them.

Welcoming Winter

The mild weather seems to be slipping away from us. One thing blogging has taught us, has been to welcome and to celebrate each season. You see in New Zealand we are lucky and have pretty mild weather, with not too many extremes. Where we live, it doesn't snow but our winters are grey, windy and often wet. After seeing the amount of snow all of our friends have had to endure, we can hardly complain (but you know we will).
So we are going to say loud and proud - Welcome Winter!! We celebrate you by pulling out the sheepskin slippers, putting the merino blanket on the bed and the radiator heater has been plugged back in after a 8 month break.
We also celebrate you in the kitchen, as mum and her family had their first roast dinner with steamed pudding, and mum has bought lots of soup to eat.
To all of our Northern Hemisphere friends, enjoy your warmth and sunbeams and look after them for us and send them back in October.

Shooting Star

(pic from the internet - not our own one)

Tonight (about 10 minutes ago), at 10pm - mum went outside to get the washing in. She was thinking it was a beautiful evening, and very warm. She was thinking she better hurry, so she could write this post before she went to bed. While she looked up a bright shooting star went across the sky in front of her, big and clear and a bit pink looking. Mum has never seen a big one like that before - beautiful.

Me, well I was in the bushes looking for moths who might be sleeping, but might need to be eaten up.

Have a great week everybuddy.

Hello Easter Sunday

Have a happy Easter day, we hope the bunny brings you treats. We are thankful for our treats, and awesome sunny day each day of Easter so far, which normally never happens in an April autumn Easter here.
Also that mum is on-call for the hopsital but so far she has been able to pull some weeds, mop the kitchen and bathroom floors, and get a few loads of washing out. Also she has managed to read some of her book and watch one of the CSI episodes she has on dvd.
We are also grateful that mum went to her super hairdresser yesterday, and is happy with the cut and colour today.
We hope you all get to enjoy your day and everybuddy gets some Easter sunbeams.

Somewhere to Snooze

Hello Mum s bed, I think I love you too.

Not as much as my cabinet of fancy feast, or my scratching pad,.......................

but when the electric blanket is on, you are almost one of my 3 bestest things ever!!

When my mum is not occupying the bed, this is the number one sleeping spot. Once she gets in, I have to move my tooshie down to the bottom of the bed. Sweet dreams everybuddy.

When I get tired I like to rest. This is me lying in the late afternoon sunbeams. I have my head lying under MY CUPBOARD. It is full of Poppy surprises - do you want to know what is in it?

Hypnotized

Mum says when I look at her like this, it is like I am hypnotized. I am saying "go away with the flashy box, and leave me in peace". She doesn't listen to me though. Maybe I can hypnotize her - make her cluck like a chicken!!
