Fun Caturday

We spent our Caturday thinking about these guys.   Only 6 hours now to the Rugby world cup final.  We loved our comments yesterday.  Our friend Beth commented that she saw a man with a kiwi tshirt in the line at the airport, and she was able to ask him about the big game.  It would have made him smile and made his day.   The clouds parted around lunch time so that mum could go for a walk and get some fresh air in the sunshine, as she was feeling a bit cabin crazy.  She also got some washing on the line, and some little chores done that made her happy.
Tonight she mixed together some of this stuff - Reduced cream + Maggi Onion Soup mix + lemon juice and put it in the fridge.  It makes dip for chips, that generations of kiwis love.  Mum hasn't had it for years but thought this was a special occasion.  Chips and dip for breakfast - oh yeah!!
I helped the mumster make the bed.  I is good at ironing out the sheets by doing roly polys on them.
It was a bit loud tonight, as Robbie Williams was playing at the outdoor venue just 5 minutes from our house.  Mum stood and boogied in the dark garden for 10 minutes or so while he sung Angels, and a version of Royals (a song by the kiwi singer Lorde).  As it was Halloween, mum also watched Hocus Pocus which she hasn't seen in years!!

Hope you all had a fun Caturday!!  Did you treat yourself - did you have a boogie in the garden to a popstar?  What did you do that was fun today?

30 Hours to Go

Our little country is very excited.  It is the talk of the town, the workplace and just everywhere.  Yes it is the rugby world cup final, to be held in London at 4pm Saturday their time, which for us lucky Kiwis is 5am.  So just about everybody will be staying up, or getting up to watch our team play the Aussies.

Mum feels a bit spoiled.  She was glad it was finally Friday - even though she only had to work 2 days this week.  She is on call for a bit of the weekend, but will get lots of chances to relax.  She is a bit sad though, as her lovely niece has finished her exams, and next week will be back off to spend the holidays with her family.  It has been a pleasure having her here for the year.  Such a lovely clever girl, it has been nice for mum to see her blossom and her confidence grow.

So we hope you have a nice weekend planned with some fun things to do! Maybe it's a movie, a good book or something tasty to eat, share a meal with friends or have a nice drink with your dinner or maybe it is just relax and pat a cat - all good things!

Chilly

Oh we are sick about complaining about the weather.  We have had three days in a row of cold and rainy spring weather.  The metservice says it is 7.5C outside, but feels like 3C (that is chilly for us).  So I an snuggling up next to mums pillow to keep warm.  Mum was glad of the chill on the way home as a warm flush made her temperature rise and she was keen to shed some clothes when she got home.  Now she  has a winter sweater, pyjama pants and slippers on - welcome to middle age.

So after nomming on some grass I had my feast for dinner.  I usually only eat 2/3 and save the last part for some supper.  Mum felt noble for making herself a chicken salad for dinner, and had some watermelon afterwards.  You go mum!

So for us ladies it will be an early night - time to keep warm and snuggle up.  Mum has got her reading bug back, and is enjoying her books which is good as she has a huge pile from the library.  But gosh we hope we get some warmer weather for the weekend.  Us girls are trying to get some early nights in, cos there will be a couple of late nights when the rugby final is on at the weekend.

Nice Knees

After last evenings of ignoring mum as she pottered round, I  came over and jumped on top of her at 3am and 6am to check she was still at home with me.  I have also come over and had a little snuggle sitting on her nice knees about 5 times.  I never last more than 5 minutes, but I like to snuggle in and close my eyes.

The grey clouds hung low today, giving us a cool day unlike the summery weekend mum had, so she pottered at home, getting some washing done, reading her book.  She took a small walk to the post office this morning and a visit to the supermarket.  She got lots of green stuff, grapes, lettuce, cucumber, broccoli and carrots and tomatoes for colour.  Chicken and salmon for her, and some feasts for me - thanks mum.

Mum is enjoying her time off.  She had been very tired the past couple of weeks, but had been working a few long shifts and lots of weekend work.  This past weekend a couple of cold sores popped up too, just in time for her birthday which makes mum think she was fighting a wee virus or bug of some kind or just run down.  So she has been relaxing and trying to take it easy, trying to find some balance.  Hugs with me help - so mum is glad to be home.

So tonight mum made herself some tasty salmon which she served with broccoli and carrots.  A good start to mums dining week.  Me - I enjoyed my feast.

Hello Furriends

Hello Furriends, we are back after our weekend off.  We are so glad to have had a break away.  Mum went off with a bestie for a wee trip and visited with her family.  She got to share meals and have lots of chats which was nice.  There was lots of sunshine and warm breezes.  The trees and gardens were blooming, and mum saw lots of sheep and cows on the farms on the way to and from her home town, spring has well and truly sprung.  There was lots of resting, although mum did sneak up early to see both semi final rugby matches of the rugby world cup.  Yippee for our team - the All Blacks, they are in the final next week playing against Australia.

Me - well mum let me stay home, as she left on Saturday and was back on Monday afternoon.  Our niece Miss Belle came over to visit with me on Sunday and make sure I had some feast and plenty of biscuits and water.  I have been very chatty with mum tonight, but won't look her in the eye yet.  But I am glad that she is home.

Oh and mum had a birthday on Sunday and she got to share a birthday dinner with the whole family.  She had a nice lunch, then a walk and a drive round the city.  Then a pizza birthday dinner with an Elmo cake.  What a lucky lady!!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend and your week has started well.

Weekending

Hey furriends.  The mumster and I had a lovely day today.  Mum got to have a sleep in and I got a couple of morning cuddles which are my favorite things.  I jump on her bed and talk to her until she stretches out under the covers so that I may lay across her leg.  I  love it - but will only stay for ten minutes at the most,  then I'm gone.

Once mum got organised she went into town and took the niece out for lunch and for a wander round the shops.  It poured with rain this afternoon, which was good for the gardens but not good for the mumster hair, making it all frizzy and crazy looking.

So we have a busy weekend ahead, so please forgive us if we skip a couple of days of blogging.  We may have a weekend off from the computer, but will be back soon.  Have a lovely weekend everybuddy and we hope you have lots of fun planned.

Hahaha Thursday

Hahaha mum laughed when she saw this photos - looks like I was laughing too.  This is my box that mum let me have to play in.  I like to sit in a couple of times a day.

Mum has enjoyed having a couple of days off, we have been relaxing and having sleep ins.  Yesterday was sunny but very windy in the city.  Mum took herself out for lunch, a lovely tasty chicken cannelloni, that was more broccoli than protein filled.  Mum was going to tell them, but she is reluctant to complain unless there is a real issue.

Then she took herself off to see The Martian, which she enjoyed a lot.  A nice chance to have a little day out.

Today was spent being very lazy.  It was cloudy and cool out, so mum stayed home and pottered.  Tonight she has the movie version of Les Mis playing.  She thought she would enjoy it, but musicals are not really her thing, and although the actors are great, mum has found it a bit of a bore.  She doesn't mind Grease and she quite enjoyed seeing Phantom in London years ago, but has never really enjoyed any others.  What kind of middle aged lady is she?

Anyway we hope you have had a nice Thursday day.

Outdoorsy

Today we were blessed with lots of lovely sunshine.  Mum had the windows and doors open, so I zoomed in and out imbetween my sleeps at 9am, 9.20am, 10am, 11am and 1 pm.  I like to sit in the sun in the morning, to warm my furs.  Then get some fresh air, and do my outside bathrooming.  I also love to eat grass.

I am lucky that I get to be an indoor/outdoor cat and get to have my own cat door and dictate when I go outside.  We have no cars outside this house, as it is up a set of stairs connecting two streets.  There are lots of people going up and down the stairs, and as I am a fraidy cat I stay pretty close to home.

Mum went to work in the afternoon, and I took myself off to bed to snooze till she got home.

Stay at Home Sunday

Today it was a stay at home Sunday, for mum it was no hair done, no make up, casual clothes, no shopping and no money spent.   She has had a busy week and not been home much, so thought we should spend the day together.  Sometimes she feels she spends all weekend rushing around, and not relaxing at all.

The day began early as there was rugby on.  She got up at 7am to watch the All Blacks vs France, which was a great game.  We were so glad our team won and get to play in the semi final vs South Africa next weekend.  More games are on tomorrow morning -  Ireland vs Argentina and Australia vs Scotland.

Us girls got lots of relaxing done.  It was a bit windy to be outside, but the towels dried quickly on the line.  I snoozed on my bed - this week I have camped on the spare bed.  And to make it even more cozy mum has given me a bath mat to sleep on - my favorite.  Hope you all had somewhere snuggly to nap on today.

Caturday

Howdy friends, Caturday is coming to a close here in the city.  Mum and I managed a nice old sleep in which was nice.  As spring has arrived, I am sleeping in the spare bedroom more.  When mum came past at 8am I was snoozing, so she gave me a little pat and went and had her shower.

She then got ready and went off into town to meet a bestie.  The girls had a nice brunch and a chit chat and then did a little wander round the city, checking out the shops.  It was a nice afternoon, but mum was glad to get home and put her footsies up.  A little nap was in order too.

So as the evening comes to a close mum is ready to get up early tomorrow morning.  There is important rugby on, and most of NZ will be watching the tele on Sunday morning.  South Africa play Wales, then it is the All Blacks vs France.  OMG we are all waiting for the match with bated breath.

So hope you have all had a nice Caturday too!!  Hope you did something fun.

Weekend Eve

Mum sure was pleased when 4pm rolled around and she could peel off the work uniform, and put some real clothes on and leave work.  She strolled off to the library, did a quick visit to the supermarket and then popped on home.  The first job when she dives through the door is to dish out the feast.

It was sunny and warm in the city today, but a tad windy and tonight the wind has picked up and it has got much cooler.  So some washing has been done and mum made herself an easy dinner of chicken nibbles and coleslaw.  She watched a couple of shows, and did a few chores.  I snoozed a few zzzzzs.

She is trying out a new tradition tonight too.  Since she now spends quite a few Friday nights at home, she is going to make it movie night and download a movie to watch, and make the evening special.  The candles are lit and the lights dimmed - she is already for some relaxing!!

Hope you all have some relaxing planned into your weekend too!!

Nana Fun

I sure got my excercise having fun with my new nana.  It smells fresh and full of catnip.

I was lucky to be able to have mum home with me for the morning.  She was going to sleep in, but she woke up early to use the bathroom, then some noise woke her up again.  So she got up to have a bagel for breakfast, then did a few little chores.  Then off to work.

I love when mun gets home - cos then I am allowed my dinner.  I chowed down my feast, then took myself off to bed.

Nite nite everybody.

Happy 9th Birthday to Me!

It is my birthday today - I am big number 9 years old.  My mum talked to me this morning, then I come and talked to her to tell her it was raining outside.  She gave me lots of snuggles then she headed out.

The mumster went to town to meet some besties for some tasty Asian food for dinner.  Then the girls went to see the Neil Finn concert.  She said it was awesome, what a voice he has and he was joined by his son Liam, Wife Sharon and the strings from the New Zealand Orchestra, beautiful violins and cellos.  Lots of old hits and a few new songs thrown in.  Just delightful and well worth the late night on a school night.

So some snuggles when mum got home, and she will show you my present tomorrow!!

Sunshines

We had and another glorious day of sunshine here, just perfect for mums day off.  She got up kinda early and got herself ready.  We had a little time out in the garden, then mum took off.  She headed out to a local mall and spent a hour looking around.  The only thing she bought was a set of pillowcases for $10 which she had been looking for.

Then she headed out to meet some friends for lunch which was nice as they chatted for a while and had a tasty bite to eat.  Then back into town and mum met her lovely niece for a wee chat and a nibble in the sunshine.  Mum then came home and talked to me, before taking a wee nap.

So for us a relaxing day and evening, just nice to catch up on some rest.  Hope you all have a lovely Monday too.

Late

Mums 7 day stretch of work is over - time for days off.  I helped her in the garden after work.  Now it is late, and she has to quickly post before Monday starts.  She is allowed a late night tonight, but only til midnight then off to bed.

Mumsters Caturday

The mumster was up early bird time this morning to head to work.  She made some tasty rolls with ham and coleslaw and took some mandarins - no hospital food for her today!!  Work was ok - steady not busy and there was company and the day flew by.  Mum then came home and chatted to me, fed me my feast and got herself dressed and showered.

Mum then went and met a bestie and saw the Wearable Arts Awards, a show held yearly in our city.  The outfits were pretty amazing, hours and hours of work from artists across New Zealand and the world.  The show itself, is a spectacle, with amazing dancers and musicians and some fantastic acrobats.  Mum and her bestie just wish that some women would just shut up though, they had ladies beside them and behind who spent the whole time chit chatting and describing little thing verbally.  We do understand if you are with someone blind or vision impaired, but otherwise we do think you should be quiet while a show is on.

So mum came home and had a bite to eat and now us girls are getting ready for bed.

Hope you all had a lovely Caturday too.

Up

Today I am feeling betterer.  I jumped up about 4 times and sat on mums knee after she got home after work for a cuddle.   I ate my dinner, ran around the garden, sniffed mums bag, and went in and out of the cat door about twenty times.  Exhausted I took myself off to bed round 7pm and am all tucked in for the night.  Mum is watching a movie Song for Marion and then she will head to bed with me too.  Friday nights are fab!!!

Ohh and mum cooked herself a steak and potato salad for her dinner, and got some buns to fill with ham and coleslaw tomorrow and Sunday for work, cos yes she is working the weekend again.  She must be middle aged when she is excited about her filled rolls for lunch.  The highlight of any working day!

We hope you have some fun things planned for your weekend - we do!!

The Vomitorium

Mum got home this afternoon, and I was very chatty wanting to let her know something.  She couldn't figure it out.  She then let me sit on her knee about three times and then I was very quiet and snuggled nest to her.  Just before she dished up dinner she popped into the bedroom.

Cue the horror music - as I had puked up on mums quilt, the one I am snuggling under in the photos.  Mum cleaned it up, and the quilt has been washed and put on the line.  I am not too sick very often, usually only a couple of times a year.

After a couple of hours rest, I was back to normal, and so mum doesn't feel a V.E.T visit is necessary, although she will keep her beady eyes on me for the next couple of days.

She did quiet enjoy her dinner.  She made some spaghetti with tomatoes and garlic that she said was awesome, and enough for leftovers for tomorrows lunch.  Not much can put her off her food.

Little Bed

Mum was moving some stuff round the bedroom, and she folded up the fleecy blankie.  It is now my little bed, and I likes to sleep and snore on it.  Mum cleared out a bag of clothing to the charity shop, which was good as it cleared some space.  She does need to do some more spring cleaning, but that might have to wait as this week is a long week, with mum working seven days in a row.  Next week is better with the mumster working only 3 days - a much better ratio.

Oh - and the trick with getting me to sleep on the little bed, is for mum to appear that she didn't want me sleeping there, and that the blankie was special.  That is a magnet to a little grey cat.

Working Week

The working week has started, so us girls needed a little old nap tonight.  No dishes were done and the house is messy.  Tomorrow mum will do more and better, but she is enjoying her book and is on call tonight, so that means everything else is ignored.   Me - I am happy for the snoozes too.

Hope your week has started well too!!

Slow Sunday

Mum was tempted by her 8am alarm clock to get up early and head off and do some stuff.
But then she decided to just stay in bed and read her book for another hour.  Then it was time to jump up, have a shower and some breakfast and chat to me.  More washing was done too and then as the sun was shining she headed out.

She walked down to the markets and got some carrots, potatoes, broccoli,  parsley and chicken for her dinners.  She then did a bit of window shopping and decided to try a couple of things on that were on sale. She almost had to buy a top and wear it home cos she got stuck in it.  There are lots of tops out this year that are not so stretchy and with on buttons or zips, mum could not figure out how to get out of it, she almost had to get the sales assistant to peel her out of it.  Finally she got it over her head and could peel it off gently.  Phew!

Home and mum made me a feast for tea.  She stir fried some onions, pepper and chicken with satay chicken for her tea.  Carrots and broccoli on the side, some satay sauce and roti bread and she had a little picnic that she enjoyed and best of all there is enough for dinner tomorrow night.

We watched the rugby highlights on the news - never underestimate the Australian Rugby team, they are a formidable foe and our team doesn't always win against them.  It is turning into an interesting competition.

Hope you all feel refreshed after your Sunday and ready for the week ahead.

Happy Caturday

Hope you all had or are having a great Caturday.  I enjoyed mine - my mumster spent the whole day at home with me, a rare thing indeed.  She did have some plans to meet a bestie for lunch, but that got cancelled, and she had mixed up the days for an evening soiree - thinking it was tonight when it is next week.

Still, the day was nice and sunny and she appreciated the time to relax and read her book in the sun.  Sometimes she feels she races round all weekend and does not have much time to sit back and relax.  Washing was done, and some tidying was done, although there is always more to do.

The best bit, was that no money was spend although mum is eyeing up things on the internet.  Internet shopping sure is a blessing - no need to wander the town to look for that perfect thing, it can all be done from the couch in sweatpants. Mum did buy herself a couple of tshirts this week and some work shoes, so she will have to see if they fit when they arrive.

So us girls are off for a snooze, so hope everybuddy has had some fun today!!

Friday Clean Up

It is Friday in the windy city and us girls are ready for the weekend.  The mumster was on call again last night, and had to get out of bed twice to head off to the hospital.  She finally got home before 3am, asleep at 6am and the builders next door started at 8am.  So it will be an early night tonight for us.

We forgot to say Happy October!!  We love the ber months - the best part of the year!

We watched the news tonight - terrible news about more students being killed at school at college in the US.  We don't know the answers, but mum knows that after 20 + years of working in a hospital here in NZ, she has only ever seen 4 gunshot victims.  2 were criminals shot by police, and another two were hunters accidentally shot.  So something we don't see a lot of, which is fine by us.

Daylight savings started here last week, and we are loving it and the extra hour of light in the evening, but just putting your body clock out by an hour sure does make you tired.

Oh and the neighbor doesn't mind my contribution to the peach tree fertilizer, as I make everything grow big and green.  The warmer weather has made me more happy to be outside, mum too - we love spring!!

Have a nice weekend everybuddy - we hope you have some fun things planned!

Poppy Poop

The nice upstairs folks planted a peach tree in the corner of the garden.  I had to give it a sniff and christen it with a bit of Poppy Poop to make it grow up nice and strong.  It now has some blossoms on it, ready to get some nice spring leaves on it.
