Caturday

Hi Caturday  friends.  It is wintery but mild with occasional  rain.  Mum has only left the house to put small  scraps out for the birds.  She has been moping  feeling  sorry for herself today.  Sore shoulder, with some toothache  and now a sniffling  cold - a trifecta of  uncomfortableness.  She did well to have a shower and get dressed and do some washing and a few small  chores.

Mum is spending  the evening watching  a Netflix documentary  called Lenox Hill, following  four doctors  at a New York  Hospital.  It is the show that is the talk of the tearoom at work, something  that has not happened  for years.  So having little sleep has its bonuses  more time for shows and snuggles  with me.

Cloudy Caturday

Our city was on the news tonight.  They were talking  about the gloomy cloudy winter weather.  Apparently  we only got six minutes if sunshine in the whole week last week.  We don't  mind, as it's  winter after all.

Mum is working this weekend.   She says that it is always harder getting up at 5.30am on weekend  days, as you know everyone  else is tucked  up in bed.  Don't  worry mum - I'll  catch some zzz's  for you.

Caturday

Life is returning to normal  here in New  Zealand.   Mum got on a crowded  bus and went out to a crowded  cafe for lunch with a bestie, which  was lovely with a fresh orange juice and a  favorite  chicken  salad that mum has missed eating.  It was delicious  too and mum was glad that everyone was supporting the local cafes!

Mum then went to a crowded  kmart.  The shelves were quite bare, but the girls enjoyed  just looking in a real shop.  Mum bought just a shower curtain  and a tshirt.  They even went to the mall, somewhere  they would normally  avoid  on a Saturday  afternoon.  After  lockdown  and the past few months without going to the shops it was nice to look around.  Mum enjoyed  all the nice duvets and clothes that were out for winter.  It is not the same, looking online.

Mum must have seen 100s of people today, and only  one person in a mask so people  are quite calm about Covid now.  We have been without  a case here for 3 weeks.

I was glad to get her home.  It was getting cold and I needed cuddles.  Mums feet were sore and her shoulder  was beginning  to ache.

We hope you all have a nice Caturday  too.

Caturday

Hey friends.  Mum was at work late again tonight.  She has come home and already eaten a half a packet of salami bites and a caramel biscuit.  A full tummy will help her sleep.  I have a tummy full of feast , so I'll  sleep well too.

Caturday - Couch Choir - Heroes

Mum has been trying to watch some things to make her smile today like this video.  Last night was a night shift for her, and she found some Live at Apollo comedy skits that her two colleagues hadn't seen, so they all had a laugh together in the quiet moments.  They snacked on popcorn and biscuits and the time went fast.  When the shift finished mum headed home and I was happy to see her!!   Mum toasted some pre made waffles and had bacon for her breakfast today, and gave me some treats  and then  had a good sleep.  I only tried to wake her up once to tell her she was sleeping in my spot.

Tonight is her last night shift, so she has the same breakfast planned for tomorrow morning.  The supermarket has changed its hours to let essential workers like mum shop between 7-8am and mum is going to do that in the morning.  She hasn't used gone before at that time, and has gone after work when a lot of the supplies are gone, so hopefully she can get a couple more items that she has been missing.  Maybe there will be some flour?

She has put some fruit juice in the fridge and plans a big fruity cocktail tomorrow night with her dinner.  There are leftover thai chicken and rice all ready, so it will be a big Sunday night on the couch for her.  Chores can wait until the days off next week.

We hope that you have got some fun things planned for your weekend too.  Enjoy your Caturday!!

Caturday

Mum made a mess dragging out piles of  summer clothes and replacing  them with long pants, merino knitwear and boots ready for winter.   The bed was covered  with only a little  space for me.  She washed  all the towels and did a pile of dishes.  Now she has made another  pile of clothes  that need washing.  For one person she  makes a lot of mess. She listened to a couple of podcasts while she sorted  stuff out - Table Manners with Jessie Ware kept her laughing.

She was tempted  to go to  the  supermarket,  but more out of boredom then anything.  She does have enough  supplies  to get her through until Monday  or  Tuesday  after work.  She is doing her best to just  stay home on her days off.

Instead she mooched about with me, and we had  a little  walk around  the garden.  Aren't  we lucky to have some outdoor  space to relax in?

Caturday

Jacinda  was on the news to tell us an update about  the virus  today.  We have 54 patients  and community  spread now.  70 year olds have been told to stay home and people are being told not to travel around  the country.   Libraries  and swimming  pools are closed now.  Mum has a large pile of books as she sensed this was coming.    She has a kindle but likes the feel of a real book.  We are surprised  that restaurants  and bars are still  open - we see they are closing in the uk.

We sense that a lockdown  is not far off.

Mum is working  tonight but then has two days off for us to spend quietly  at home.

Caturday

Mum and I had the laziest of Caturdays today.  We both stayed home and relaxed.  Mum only did one chore and read her book on the bed next to me.  Perfect.

Caturday

Mum tried to sleep but only managed a 3 hr sleep in the morning and a 2 hour nap in the afternoon so she is a bit tired for tonight's shift.  I was a good girl and let her rest without trying to wake her up.

Caturday

Mum and I had a nice Caturday.  A lie in together.  3 loads of washing on the line, dishes done and the carpet hoovered.  Mum took herself off to see 1917 at the movies.  A solid 5/5 for the movie.  Chicken tacos again for mum for tea and beef and liver fancy feast for me.

Then time on the couch to relax.  I'm still loving the little chair and mum is enjoying my company in the evenings.  She thinks I spent all night out here last night so mum was a bit lonely.

Caturday

Mum had a bestie round for dinner tonight and I was brave and didn't run away, although I did hide in our bedroom for a while.  After they left I joined mum on the couch for 10 minutes.  Mum only managed some blurry snapshots.  Any sudden movements and I'm off.

We hope that you've had a nice Caturday and done something fun.

Caturday

My goodness it was nice to have a sunny slightly cool day today.  Mum nearly wore out the washing machine and used up all the pegs in her rush to get things out on the line.

Mum then joined a bestie for lunch out and a walk in the sunshine.  She also took a walk around town on the way home.

Mum and I then relaxed for the evening.  Mum got a spray bottle when she was out so the aphids got a dose of dishwashing liquid tonight.  That was all the chores she could be bothered doing.  Tomorrow is another day.

We hope you all have a lively Caturday and did something fun.

Caturday

Mums friends dropped by to help mum get the garden ready for summer with some flowers and a chair to sit and read her book in.  Perfect.

Caturday

Is is sad to say that Mum had already eaten her dinner at 5pm and was nodding off on the couch while watching the news?  To be fair she did only get 4 hours sleep and had to be up at 6am to head to work, and worked all day. She stopped an got a chicken satay burger on the way home which she enjoyed very much.  She had baked some meatballs she got from the supermarket last night, and had leftovers she thought she would eat tonight, but when she went to bed last night her tummy was a bit sore, so she thought she would not push it.  Melon and grapes for supper tonight so that she gets her 5+ fruit and veg in today.

So she is not going to push it tonight.  A quick hoover of the carpets and a tidy up and she might have a shower and then sit down and watch a movie and try to have an early night.  That's the plan anyway.

Me well I'm taking it easy too.  I had my supper and a snooze too - its just what I do.  Do you like this old photo?  It is me and my Poppy quilt that my friend Leanne made me.

Caturday

I spent some time in the sun with mum today.  She had popped out for lunch with a friend and went and bought me some feasts.  She made her dinner and sat down to watch the rugby.  She was sad that our team lost but well done to England.

Caturday

Mum might have to put up some old photos this weekend like this one of the poppies at our old place.  The weather is grey and dull outside and I'm choosing to snooze the day away.  Mum had a big old sleep in too, and has to go to work this afternoon.  She made a big lunch of creamed sweetcorn and cheese toasted sandwiches for lunch and has some tasty pasta to take to work with her.  Me - I had biscuits all day.

We hope you have some fun today on your Caturday.

Caturday

Today it was pretty chilly with rain and it was a good day to just curl up and keep warm.  Mum had to go into work several times so she spent the morning sleeping.  I only woke her up 4 times to check she was ok.  Now I'm tired.

We hope you all are having a nice Caturday.

Chilling With Cheddar Caturday

Oh man - mum found this instagram kitty Cheddar last night and can't stop checking out the website.  First off she can't even think how they got their kitty to pose like that, and mum is jealous she didn't think of it first.  Colour me jealous.

Have a nice Caturday - do something fun!!
