Chillier

It has got a bit cooler here today which is fine with the Mumster as it makes her feel less guilty about sleeping in and then going to the cinema for the afternoon.  I am loving having her home more often too.  More chats, more cuddles and more brushes with her hair brush.

Fresh Airs

We have been so lucky to have some sunny days in the middle of winter.  It may be a touch chilly but mum does try to throw open the window for at least 10 minutes a day to air out the bedroom.

Mum is pleased that her staycation has started and we get a bit of a sleep in.  It did make her smile this morning as she walked into town.  A group of chaps were erecting some scaffolding on a local building.  They were all singing along to Adele on the radio - all the high notes from Hello!!!

Movie Watching

Mum is excited as she has some time off to go to the film festival.  Today was warm and sunny, but the clouds rolled in and brought some cooler weather back.  In fact the forecast all week is for rain and coolness, which is perfect for movie watching.  She will enjoy not being on call and not having to have any 5am wake ups for the early shift.  I am already enjoying having her home with me, although she won't let me go out with her, I enjoy the sleep ins too.

We hope you like this movie that we saw on line this week of the pussy cat watching a horror movie - enjoy!

Night Out Caturday

This was this evening's skies as mum left the house at 5.20pm - just glorious and a sign that she better get her butt out if bed early tomorrow and get the washing out on the line.

She had a day of laziness today.  Reading her book, shuffling some stuff around and hoovering the carpet.  She put her nice clothes on and went out to meet a bestie on the correct night.

Mums friend apologized for yesterday's muddle.  The girls went to see Mama Mia - Here We Go Again.  Oh what a load of cheesy cheesy silliness.  Still it was a bit of fun and it did make mum want to take a holiday on a Greek Island.

I stayed home - but I was glad to have mum back home at a sensible 9.30pm.

We hope you have a nice Caturday and did something fun.

Day and Night

This was pink skies that greeted mum on the way to work.  It brightened her day.
She had been texted on Thursday and invited to the movies tomorrow.  so mum rushed home after work, had a shower and headed off to the cinema.  She waited and then texted her friends to see if they were still coming.  That's when she found out they meant Saturday night.  Oh well - mum was still real tired.  Secretly she was quite happy to get some takeaway noodles and head home.

This was the photo of the night sky.  That is the moon with Mars to the right of it.  So many planets to see at the moment.

Thursday

Mum had a busy night last night.  She was on call and had 4 call ins to work with only a 1.5 hour sleep between jobs.  The good thing was that it meant that she had the day off work today.  She managed a couple of hours sleep.  She did some chores and played outside with me for a while too.

Then she went out for leaving drinks for one of her friends.  The sun was lively and warm and mum enjoyed the short walk to the pub.  Someone asked yesterday about the sunbeams at our place.  We get the afternoon sun in our room which is increasing every day as the winter moves along.

So we are off to bed now - mum has her fingers crossed that she can get go sleep tonight.

DNA

When I sit up on my shopping bag on mums bed she gives me a pat.  Sometimes she brushes me.  Sometimes it is with her own hairbrush cos I love it.  She knows that makes her a crazy cat lady.  She just worries that if something happened to her and they wanted  to get her hair dna from the hairbrush it might come back as being mostly British Shorthair pussycat (nothing wrong with that I say).

Monday Movies - 5 Treats for Your Cat

Mum quite liked this cat cone - the first of the incredible inventions.  Our couch would thank her for it not getting pierced on a daily basis.  I 'm not so convinced.  Do any take your fancy?

Wintering

Mum only went into work once again last night, and managed to get home at a reasonable time so got a good bit of sleep, which she well enjoyed.  She got to lay in be bed and finish another book before getting up at a lazy 10am.  A shower and some housekeeping were taken care of.  The day was sunny, but cool, so she rugged up in her jacket and headed into town before the fruit and vegetable market closed down at 3pm.

Winter vegetables are certainly much cheaper with at least 50% savings than buying from the supermarket.  So tonights dinner for her was a small piece of lamb with a large serving of cabbage, and some pumpkin/broccoli/kumara and red onion roasted together with a squeeze of lemon on top and olive oil and salt and pepper to season.

So now the curtains are drawn and us girls are relaxing.  Mum will scrub her face and put a relaxing mask on.  Me - well I am sleeping on my shopping bag on the mama bed waiting until it is bedtime and we can have a little chat.

Caturday

Todays Caturday was whisper quiet.  Mum got called in last night for a while and then came home to sleep, but is never restful when you are waiting for the phone to ring.  I get up when mum is called in as I don't like her leaving.

Mum was invited out by dear friends, but had promised herself a day at home.  The shower was scrubbed and washing done and then us girls napped.

Mum made an easy dinner of steak and some steamed vegetables.  This evenings entertainment is the 2017 movie The Mummy, with snacks provided by microwave popcorn.

Me - well I have climbed on the mama bed and am busy napping there.

We hope you are enjoying your Caturday too.

Ready

We're ready for this weekend to begin.  Mum has stocked the fridge, washed her uniforms and done a couple of chores.  Then she relaxed and ate her dinner and watched a movie ( Battle of the Sexes). Now she is about to put the call phone on.  Being on call means she has no plans to go anywhere, so that she can sleep all day if she is busy at work.  She has books and movies and the forecast is for rain.

Me - well I have eaten, licked my furs, talked to mum and and ready to hibernate too.

Sleeps

Mum is still struggling to get enough sleep this week.  She is trying to have the lights out by 10pm and getting up just before 6am she should hopefully get some good hours snoozing.  I sympathize as if I don't get my 22 hours a day I'm just a mess!!

How well do you sleep?

Smooch

Mum makes sure that there is time each day to give me a little smooch, a little kiss on my forehead and tell me that she loves me.  She thinks it is important - me too.

Venus

Mum dived outside tonight to get a photo between the clouds.  you can see that the big blob is the moon, and to the left - well that is Venus.

Monday has passed by.  Mum was tired.  Her show is about to finish and she is going to be in bed with me by 9.15pm.  Us girls are tired and mum wants to relax and read for a while.

Helper

I was a good helper cat today.  Mum got the guide to this year's film festival and I helped her to read it.

Caturdaying

Today I helped mum sleep in, watched her do the washing, helped keep the mattress in the bed as she stripped the sheets, ate as many biscuits as possible , slept for 20 hours and gave her the evil eye as she tried to take my photo.  Job done!!

Finally Friday

This morning, as mum left the house there was a rainbow across the city which mum admired.  There was no time to get an Instagram beautiful shot - as soon as she took these it then clouded over and rained.  Poor mum got wet.
Work went quickly.  Then mum raced home.  She greeted me at the door, dishes out my feast.  She cooked up her dinner - some roasted spicy chicken with some slaw.  Tasty and quick.

Mum has the whole weekend off from work - yippee.

Home Improvements

Mum did a little bit of home improvement for me.  She restocked on the fancy feast for me.  She knows how to make me happy.

Bedwarmer

Mum just took this snap of me doing my main job if being chief bedwarmer.  I am keeping her spot hot.  She is watching the end of Grey's Anatomy and then she will come and join me for a snuggle.

Mondaying

Gosh mum doesn't know why it is so hard for her to sleep on Sunday nights?  The weather here was wild all stormy and soaking rain.  At least we live up on top of a steep hill and are not at risk of flooding.

Still mum got most of another book read between looking for updates on the young Thai boys being rescued from the caves.  Soon enough the alarm was ringing and mum was up and off.  She got half way to work before it started pouring and mum got soaked.

So she is all warm and dry tonight with her woolly slippers on.  Her tummy is full of leftovers and she is nodding off on the couch so she is planning to join me for an early bedtime.

Cosy Sunday

it has been a wild windy and wet Sunday.  Mum slept in - some wine last night helped her to sleep well.  She shared a blobby day with me - only stopping to do a few jobs, she skipped going to the market or any other outside jobs.  Mum went out last night for a friends birthday which was a fun night out, even though she may have preferred to stay home she was glad that she went out and socialized.

She cooked some roast kumara (sweet potatoes), some lamb and veg for her dinner which was delicious and left her some left overs for tomorrow nights dinner.  Me I had a feast, but we are almost out so she better go shopping tomorrow after work or there will be complaints.

We can't believe that Sunday night has rolled round again.  We hope you are having a nice Sunday too.

Caturday

Mum is out tonight and almost forgot to post.  She took this photo last night and thought you'd like it.  It was not sunny today but she didn't have to do much but get ready to go out tonight.

We hope you enjoy your Caturday.

Whale Watching

It has been amusing this week watching the news.  Besides the reports about the Thai teenagers in the caves that we are pleased are alive and hope get rescued soon, there is little to watch on the nightly news that isn't depressing.  However we have been on Whale watch as a large Southern Right Whale has come to play in our city harbour.  There is meant to be a fireworks display tomorrow to celebrate Matariki - the Maori New Year.  Instead our council have postponed it a week so that we don't frighten our new friend.

Has anything made you smile this week?

Winter Sun

Mum was on call last night and had to work, so although she was tired she got to have the day off.  It always feels a bit like it is a list day to her, as she slept for a couple of hours during the morning.

She did get herself up and opened up the windows to let the fresh air circulate.  She tried to be productive and get some chores done.  She was a whizz - mopping, scrubbing, washing , folding and vacumning before collapsing back on the couch.

I got to watch the birdies as mum had put some grapes and bread out and the birds were very excited!!

Chillaxing

I am just chillaxing.  Mum was up before the sun this morning and off to work.  She got a pile of groceries on the way home.  Rice with green beans and a slightly too spicy Thai chicken curry was made for dinner.  Mum needs lots of water and maybe a cool apple now.

Mum is trying to be productive tonight.  Recycling was sorted, dishes are soaking, the washing is done.    She still has to wash her face, get her uniform ready for tomorrow, make tomorrow's lunch and put away the left overs.

I think I'll stay chillaxing on mums bed.

Floofed

Today I sat outside for a while.  It was a bit chilly though so I floofed my furs out like a big fur coat to keep me warm.  Mum pulled ou a big woolly jumper to floof herself out too.

Weekending

Gosh we didn't get to post on Caturday - what is happening mum?  Mum says she was busy - it was a good friends Big Birthday, so mum went out and spent the afternoon with her and they went out for dinner with friends and family and mum didn't get home until real late after filling up on cake.

Today was the laziest of days.  It was wet and windy - so mum decided it was a stay home and be lazy day - which was fine with me.  I love those days.  But now she is up and doing a few little chores to make the beginning of the work week easier.  She is going to make a lemon pasta for dinner and has put a feast out for me.

We hope you are having a nice weekend too.
