Poppy Anzac Day

Today is Anzac day in New Zealand and Australia. These are the poppies the beans wear to show their support.

93 years ago at dawn, on the 25th of April 1915, New Zealand and Australian troops were sent to Gallipoli, a rough and ruggered part of the coast, to attack the Turkish troops and try to capture an important shipping route through the Dardenelles. Many casulties were suffered on all sides and on this day we remember all who went to fight for us.

My mum has been to visit the battlefields and graveyards that dot the coast at Gallipoli, it was hard to read the headstones of boys of 16 and 17 who died so far from home. If you want an idea of what it was like there, there is a movie from the 1980s with Mel Gibson (back when he was cute, and not so much of a drinker), that captures the time pretty well.

In Gallipoli there is a large memorial that faces out onto the beautiful sea below, carved onto it are some wonderful words that say:

Those heroes that shed their blood and lost their lives… you are now lying in the soil of a friendly country. Therefore rest in peace. There is no difference between the Johnnies and the Mehmets where they lie side by side here in this country of ours… You the mothers who sent their sons from far away countries, wipe away your tears. Your sons are now lying in our bosom and are in peace. Having lost their lives on this land they have become our sons as well.

• Thanks to mums nice friends at work who gave her flowers.
• Thanks to our friend Mach at http://machcats-3stooges.blogspot.com/ who is going to help her pussy cats have a blog. Yeah Mach!!
• Thanks to all the men and women who have fought under the New Zealand flag. Tomorrow is Friday, and is ANZAC day, which is a very important day for New Zealanders and Australians (isn't it Pablo ?). This is the only day we are allowed to say we love Australians, so it is very important!!

Thank you also to all our awesome blogging friends. You make all of our days brighter.

Good News

Yahooo good news, Lilly Lu, Mu Shue and Iris have all been found. Their apartment block caught fire when their mom was out, and they got trapped inside. The firemen and policemen found them, and when it was safe they were able to reunite them with their mom.



Good news for our farmers, as it is raining lots. Not so good news for mums washing.


Oh and the polar fleece blankie got put back on my bed. We don't have a dryer, but it was nice and warm from drying on the eliptical rider (mum says it is a great drying rack).

Today I is thinking of my friends.

These are the pictures that drew me to the artist Bunny who does photo manipulation of pictures. I have her permission to use them on my blog. Aren't they awesome!!! So cute!! She was excellent to deal with, and my fabulous picture was done in only 48 hours of paying, and then emailed to me.

My Friday Friend

Sorry I was missing yesterday, my mum had to work really, really, really late. So late that when she came home, I was sitting in the gutter at the corner of our street, crying.


Because it is Friday I knows you wants to meet My Friday Friend.

This is my friend Tesla , she lives in America with her mom and dad bean.

This is her tail, see how it has a bend in it! She has had that since she was a baby. I think it is cute, and very individual.

She gets to go outside on her harness, but when she is looking about at trees she can see squirrels! We don't get them in New Zealand, I wish we could as I would love to chase them.
