Pretty

The skies were pretty again tonight now the rains gone.  Of course its cold now the clouds have gone.  We'll be glad to get warm evenings back.  Not the hot ones , you can keep them.

Rainy

Mum ventured out into the rain today to meet a bestie for lunch which was nice.  It was pouring as she left, so she got home, made me move over and joined me for a nap.  Perfect.

Halo

The lamp gave me an angelic glow don't you think?   Mum was up early today and at work before sunrise, so it was a nice surprise to come home and see the sun shining for a while.  Mum attacked me for a brush and comb of the mattered fur on my chest and tummy tonight, she is lucky that she has any fingers or skin left. Thursday

Mum did laugh when she saw this photo of my blurry face.  It's been a soggy week of lots rain and not a lot of sunbathing.  I'm keen to get out in my chair.  Mum is super tired and awaiting the weekend.   Me too!!!

Puss

This was the lovely Puss, the girl that loved mum before me.   She came through mums window one day and moved herself in.  She loved cuddles and being talked to,   and her favorite thing was rubbish bag night, when she would walk mum round the cul de sac they lived in.  She would chat to mum the whole time and purr as they walked past all the houses, often at 10pm at night.

Rastus

This was the awesome Rastus that mum grew up with, in a photo dated feb 1984.  He was a fabulous mancat , he roamed our neighborhood playing most of the day and spent each night pinning mum to the bed.  If she moved at all, he purred super loudly for an hour keeping mum awake.  It made mum sad to leave him when she had to go away for her studies, and he lived a few more years of his retirement with her mum and dad.

Bigify

Mum was walking to work and saw this at the end of the street.  You may need to bigify it to see whats going on.

On mums walk to work today she saw this little ginger tabby snoozing at the window.

Afternooning

Mums back on the afternoon shifts.  I get the bed from 9am- midnight, then she takes over.  She's glad to have the mornings to relax and spend with me.

Brrrrrrrr

Ok while our northern hemisphere friends are sweltering we've had a chilly wintery day.  Mum finished at 8pm, and got some groceries on the way home, might as well buy the heavy items to bring home in the uber.  Her arms a bit sore, she had a 2nd Covid vaccination yesterday, but no fevers or feeling sick like she had with earlier ones.  She got home and has put the heaters on, but might as well get into bed early with her book and me.

Same

Another sleepy quiet day.  These winter days are all much the same at the moment, with not much happening, it feels like we're hibernating.

Day Off

Mum slept in on her day off and only did a few chores and read her book.  The day went fast, and i was enjoying having her home all day and evening.  Funny to think it is cool and wintery here, and so many of you are having scorching hot summer weather.

Wool

After yesterdays afternoon sunbathing the temperatures dropped quickly.  It was 13 deg C in the winter sun, and warm until the clouds came over.  It then dropped to 1 deg C here overnight , so mum pulled out the wool blankie to put on top if the bed.  Poppy approved!!

Tonight mums afternoon shifts are over tonight.  Its not so chilly out there, but getting windy.  Rain is forecast for mums days off, but she doesn't mind, she has lots to keep her busy.

Sunbather

It was cool inside our old house today.  Asmum was leaving for shift this afternoon dhe was looking for me, and found me catching some rays outside.   Don't worry, i can get back inside through my catdoor.  Happy Caturday everybuddy!!

Clouds

The clouds were rolling in as mum left for work for her afternoon shift.  She had a great nights sleep, she said there was no howling done at all.  So she was productive this morning and got washing done and hoovering too.

This winter has been mild,  she hasn't pulled out scarves or beanies yet.  We even don't need a heater on some evenings.   Long may it last.

Last Night

Last night i howled at mum until 4am.  She was not impressed.   She then got a phone call from someone at work who dialed the wrong number at 8.40am, so no sleep in.  She's got her fingers crossed that tonight will be better.

Tuesday

Mum is retreating from the wild and windy weather outside, and heading to bed with her book.  She finished work tonight at 8pm, and has to be back at 7am. It's a weird long week for mum with 5 evening shifts, and lots of late suppers for me.

Pretty

There's a new wintry stormy thing in the approach to New Zealand today, and as mum left work this afternoon it was  just beginning to spit lightly.    She found these blue flowers were blooming early, usually they spring to life a bit later in the year.  She can never retain names of flowers/plants or remember rules to card games or chess.

Sleep spots

After initially not approving of the new quilts it is now the number one slumber spot.   Til the next season rolls around.   I just have to time share it with mum.

Clear

After another wintery windy, rainy night the weather cleared for a couple of hours this afternoon.   Mum took herself out to return some books at the library and go for a few items at the supermarket.   She seems to have a knack for spending $80 each time she visits.

I went outside and took a wee nap in the chair  while the sun was out.  We each felt better after some fresh air.

Wet

Wet weather has kept us both inside today snd mum is annoyed at herself for being unproductive and lazy.  Me - I'm not too bothered.

Vet

Yesterday was my usual vet visit.  I had an arthritis injection and a little weugh in.  I have dropped to 5kg, but got a clean bill of health from another new lady vet.  So lots of treats when I got home and a fair amount of sulking  from me for the afternoon. All better now though.

Quiet

Today was a restful day.  Just mum and I.  She's enjoying her book, and stayed in pyjamas all day.  She's slightly annoyed that she didn't fall asleep until 4am this morning,  but has high hopes for tonight.  Ready to get back to normal now.

Sharing

Mum said i have been the best girl this night shift.  She thinks the winter weather has made me hapoy to curl up and go to sleep, and not pester mum to get up.  She's tired today and glad the busy shifts are over.  She's ready for some relaxing on her days off.

Cat Beds

Mum was looking at ETSY this weekend, and there is an explosion of high quality cat beds on the site.   I of course love my mums bed and sleeping on the old electric blanket that is left on the soare bed for me (it is never turned on, I just like sleeping on its floofiness).

Elvis

Mum was excited to go the cinema in the afternoon go see Elvis.  She's old enough to know all the story, but was just a girl when he died so Elvis was more her mums thing.   Look its a Baz film, with lots of flash and big scenes, but that suits such a showman.  It is long and lags in the middle and yet 2.5 hours is not long enough to cover his whole life.  Mum did enjoy the music and thought the leads did an awesome job.  4/5

Found

Mum found 8 large bags of chicken temptations at the supermarket last night.  She only bought one.  Sneakily there was no price tag where they were, but mum wasn't going to leave without them.  At 11.30pm there weren't any workers round to ask, but they were $14 NZ when she paid for them.  Enough to last for quite some time.
