Nup

 Nup - I'm not going to let you go back to work today.

I'm going to make you stay home by sleeping on your bag.  Mum had to go back to work after week off.  She's not going to lie.  It was hard and she wad glad to get back home after work.

She did get her flu shot today - on the first day it was available!! Good on you mum.

Sundaying

Well it certainly wasn't a sunny day here in the big city.  As soon as mum left the house this morning it started raining, for the whole time she walked into town - still it wasn't cold and she did enjoy her stroll with her umbrella up.  She was tempted to stay home, but it was nice to meet a friend at a French bakery for some little treats.  The girls also wandered through a few local shops, and although there were a couple of things to tempt them, their wallets stayed in their bags.

Mum had bought some lamb shanks during the week, to try out a new recipe.  Her friend brought her some thyme and rosemary from her garden, so mum didn't have to buy those.  Although it was a bit of a fiddle, she got them in the oven by 3pm and had them ready for her dinner tonight.  Nice and tasty - but she thinks they might just be a yearly treat rather than doing them more regularly. 

I got to do some sleeping today.  I did wake mum up at 6am to let her know it was raining outside and that there were 10 biscuits left in my bowl.  Mum is dreading having to get up for 6am for real tomorrow morning.   She was desperate for a nap this afternoon, but has resisted so that hopefully she can sleep well tonight.  Wish her luck!!

Caturday

This photo was from a sunny day this week.  Caturday was cloudy so mum slept in and read her book instead of getting up early.

Mum did venture out for a while, but a friend had to postpone plans so mum came home and binge watched 3 episodes of the great British bake off.  Dinber was beans on toast and now the heater is on and mum is thinking there is just time to watch a movie before bed time.

Verdict

Verdict - success.   I slept all night and day on my new heated blankie.  Mum says she is pleased that I will be comfy and warm.

She had a nice evening out.  She went and saw The Geurnsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society movie which she enjoyed very much.  A lovely and charming British film.  5/5.

Then she went and had a huge plate of chicken mee goreng noodles.  I got chicken too - the fancy feast kind.

Good Girl Present

 There have been some lovely days on mums week off, but the nights are cooling off and I have been looking for a new sleeping spot.  I spent Monday and Tuesday night's on the spare bed but now have moved onto my little bed in mums room which makes mum happy.

She however is not ready for the heater to be on due to her middle aged ladyness.  So - she got me a present for being such a good girl.

 A pussy cat sized electric blanket/ heating pad.

 She is going to let me try it tonight.

 If I wake up and get up so she can put it on.

Wordless Wednesday - ANZAC Day

Lovely Day

Mum had another nice day if not working.  She stayed in her dressing gown this morning - reading and relaxing.  She got herself up and dressed and went out for the afternoon.  She went into town and then off to the beach.

The sun was shining and she enjoyed her walk.  She got on the bus - but got onto the wrong bus, mistaking the number 24 for the number 2.  So she got an extra bit if sight seeing in.  She made the most of it, and got off outside the fish and chip shop and treated herself for dinner.  Then she took a new route home and looked at some different houses.

What a lovely day!!!

Holiday Week

I came running inside cos there were some kids at the flats next door, running around and shrieking.  School holidays are not good for cats.

Mum finished her shift late last night and was happy looking forward to her week off.  She went to the supermarket and got some treats.  She had a taxi disaster on the way home.  She had to wait over a half hour for her cab.  The supermarket had closed so mum had to wait outside on the footpath in the cold.  It is the longest she has ever waited.  Then her driver spent 5 minutes putting her address into his GPS and then took her the wrong way.  Grrr!!

Anyway today was a lovely day.  The sun was shining and mum washed more stuff and put it out in the sun.  The kitchen was tidied and there were tasty leftovers for her lunch.

Mum then went and did some chores in town, and had a little walk.  She then went and saw A Quiet Place - a new horror movie that she really enjoyed, but was glad to have seen in the daytime.

When mum got home it was still warm and sunny - how lucky are we to be having such lovely weather in late April.

One More

One more sleep until mums evening shifts are over and she us back here with me.  Best of all she has taken some leave and has a 7 day break.  Yippee!!!

Caturday

Mum got out of bed to go have a shower this morning and I crawled in until 1.30pm.  So she now finally has a chance to stop the bedding, ready for the washing machine - then she has to get ready and go to work.  She wishes she could curl up all day and snooze too.

Breezy

The weather has settled a bit this week.  Mum hasn't needed a jacket to get to and from work most days, and she us still managing washing getting dried outside.  I have been climbing on top of her in the mornings which is a sign that it is getting chilly.

Mum was lazy tonight and had toast for dinner which she enjoyed.  I had my feast and was happy too.

Mum has 3 evening shifts coming up and then bliss - some days off to enjoy herself and spend some time with me.

Wordless Wednesday

Dreamy

The light was lovely and dreamy when mum got home.  She dropped the groceries and came and lay down next to me and told me about her day.  I tried to listen - but I was sleepy.

Outsides

I got to spend some outsides time with mum at the weekend.  I helped her hang out the washing and do some tidying up.

She us making the most of any opportunity to have doors and windows open while there are a couple of warmer hours in the day.

Sundaying

It was a lively day and I was helping mum to enjoy her Sunday.  I came and sat on her at 7.10, 7.27, 7.55, 8.10, 8.23 until she got up to make her toast and I could take her spot on the bed.  The sun was lovely today and although I needed help to blog I told her to go out for a walk.

Mum went my into town and had a wander.  She didn't stay out too long and came home in time for a little Sunday afternoon nap.  Perfect.

Caturday Sniffs

Cos I am an indoor/outdoor cat I am able to sit out in my garden anytime I like.  Today started off cold but warmed up at midday. Mum already had washing on the line hoping to catch the autumn sun.  Doors and windows were open to let the house air out and mum was hoovering inside and moving stuff around.

So - I just sat in the garden and snuffed some smells and felt the breeze and sun.  A perfect Caturday.  Hope yours is nice too.

2 Days

We are excited at the prospect of 2 Days without being woken up by the  alarm clock.  She wonders how people got themselves sorted out before alarm clicks?  We guess they went to bed when it got dark and woke up with the sun.  Staying up late must be a modern thing.

Mama Bag

Mum made the most of a sunny morning by going for a walk and doing some chores in town.  She got home and put her bag on the bed.  I then spent 10 minutes rubbing it.  Mum let's me rub it or even sleep on it - but no SCRATCHING.

Mum is on shift again tonight and so it will be a late night supper for me.  I guard the bed while she works.

Wordless Wednesday

BIG BRAVE HUNTER

Holy moly it is cold out there.  A storm has blown in and we are feeling like winter has arrived.  Mum climbed into bed to finish off her book after work.  As she was dozing off I came running in and jumped on the bed - WITH A MOUSIE IN MY MOUTH. 

Then I dropped it on the bed and as it was alive it jumped under a blanket.  Mum caught it and took it outside.  It was a baby and mum is sure it won't survive the cold weather so that does make her a bit sad.

Monday

Today was a perfect Monday.  Mum had a day off after working yesterday, so we got to snuggle together in the morning.  Towels were washed and the bathroom was cleaned.  Mum did some tidying up and read her book and stopped and talked with me.

She got the tv man back to fix the picture.  Turns out she is an old lady - the reason the picture was rubbish was the cable she hadn't plugged back in.  The tv aerial man said he won't charge mum.  She gave him chocolate.  I hid under the bed.

So now the picture is better.  Mum is watching Bear Grylls take Welsh actor Bob Brydon up some Welsh hills and they rescue a sheep that had fallen in a sinkhole.  The picture is beautiful now.

So mum has a quiet week planned.  The weather is meant to be wintery.  Mum is going to dig out the jackets today and look for her gloves.

Snoozes

Mum had to work today, so she left me to snooze the day away.  When she got home she crawled into bed next to me.  I let her snooze for 10 minutes and then it was my job to try and wake her up for dinnertime.

Cosy Caturday

Our Caturday started off with a nice sunny morning.  Mum went and met some friends for a wander and for some sushi for brunch.  She went to the library and for a walk around town too.

The weather switched, becoming cold and with the threat of rain she retreated back home with me.  Napping and then dinner became the priority.  Winter quilts are back on our bed and the heater is on.  Cosy.

Friday Night Movie

Us girls are just chilling.  It is Friday night so we're all about the relaxing and taking it easy.  Also mum is nodding off on the couch and I'm going to ask for my snacks early and take myself off to bed.

Enjoy the video mum showed me.  It's a cat with ducks not chickens.  Any clever cat knows that!!

Skies

We have had more spectacular autumn sunsets, and a spell of fine hot weather.  There are whisperings of bad weather heading our way soon though.  Better get all the washing done soon mum.

Wordless Wednesday - Outtakes

In The Pink

Mum and I popped outside this evening to look at the lovely pink skies.  It was a lovely warm day and mum even took herself out for a nice walk after work.  She can't do too far, she doesn't want to make her leg any more sore.

Tonight us girls are relaxing.  Noodles for mum and a feast for me and then some blissful sleep.
