Caturday

Life is returning to normal  here in New  Zealand.   Mum got on a crowded  bus and went out to a crowded  cafe for lunch with a bestie, which  was lovely with a fresh orange juice and a  favorite  chicken  salad that mum has missed eating.  It was delicious  too and mum was glad that everyone was supporting the local cafes!

Mum then went to a crowded  kmart.  The shelves were quite bare, but the girls enjoyed  just looking in a real shop.  Mum bought just a shower curtain  and a tshirt.  They even went to the mall, somewhere  they would normally  avoid  on a Saturday  afternoon.  After  lockdown  and the past few months without going to the shops it was nice to look around.  Mum enjoyed  all the nice duvets and clothes that were out for winter.  It is not the same, looking online.

Mum must have seen 100s of people today, and only  one person in a mask so people  are quite calm about Covid now.  We have been without  a case here for 3 weeks.

I was glad to get her home.  It was getting cold and I needed cuddles.  Mums feet were sore and her shoulder  was beginning  to ache.

We hope you all have a nice Caturday  too.

  1. I think it's gonna take at least a month over
here, to get where you are Poppy!x Though some
shops are opening on Monday, Pubs and restaurants
are opening as well..though tables must be 2mtrs
apart, that's what they want changed, down to a
metre..it's all a matter of getting the economy
back up again, get people out spending money..!
We must remember though..the virus is still about! :(.

Nice to hear Mum was out and about, and got a new T~shirt
and shower curtain to wear..!!! :o). Oh! No! The curtain is
for the bathroom isn't it..! :).

Enjoy yer cuddles Poppy! You put yer paws up, Mum can put
her feet up..Cuddles and a good long sleep..! Bless! :).

  2. Wonderful news that mum and besties could visit in the old real world we
were all used to until months ago. Here they are relaxing the rules but
the number of cases is going up. I wear my mask and gloves and still avoid
crowds. Just groceries and straight home. Since we are going into summer
I do my fun stuff alone on walking path and biking path. Hope you both
    have a good weekend, Poppy.

  3. It is nice your country is getting back to normal. Here we have to wear face coverings on all public transport from Monday and still keep 2 metres apart.
I was just reading that they have put areas of Beijing on lock down after 50 days without new cases. They have tested people at a large wholesale market and had more than 45 test positive. At least they have acted quickly this time instead of trying to hush it up.

  4. Sadly, here in the States, lots of people are behaving like this - but in NO WAY are we ready to do so, like in New Zealand. Your country had the proper measures in place and we never did. I can only imagine the number of deaths here in the US will exponentially increase into the next couple of years. :-(

  5. That's so awesome, Poppy. How exciting for Mum and everyone else! :)

Alas, many people here in the U.S. are not following the things needed to get us to zero.

  6. New Zealand has advantages that other countries don't when it came to covid-19, of course, but even so, the country handled the emergency very well, from the leadership on down. Well done.
