Sun

It was a beautiful winters  day with lots of sunshine today.   Mum did get up at 8am with the intention  of heading out for a big walk and a wander.  Her sore arm wanted her to stay home though.  She feels for those living with chronic pain  all the time.  This has only been a few weeks  and mum knows how much  it has already  disrupted  her plans and affected  her daily life.

She is aware of my arthritis  and has noticed that I too have become less active.  I now often jump on the little  chair  to get onto the bed and spend most of my day asleep.  Still this year I am 14 years old.  Not bad for a chubby girl with bad knees and a heart murmur.

  1. Oh! Poppy!x Bless! I do like the word 'chubby'..
You'll have to take things a little easier now
then, take things in your stride, no need to
rush..! Anyway..you always look lovely..! :).

  2. Poppy, dear, it's good to know that you're using the little chair to get onto the bed. There's a family heirloom pet staircase in the closet waiting for the day when my older gentlemen pussycats need it. A beautiful home in my old suburban neighborhood had a nicely-landscaped ramp built up to a side porch -- for their aging Lab. They also had a sliding ramp for the back of their huge RV, so that he could continue to enjoy riding along when they ran errands.

  3. Our Seney lived to be 20, and by the time she was 13, we had
built so many "stairs" for her to use to get to her 6 favorite
places of comfort. She took to them in an instant and used them
until we lost her. Nothing wrong with a bit of help even in
the younger years. Hope Mum gets shoulder relief soon.

  4. Poppy, we are sorry you and Mum have those aches and pains. You two take it easy and take care of yourselves, okay? XO

  5. Has your mum looked into different arthritis medicines for cats? How about a set of small steps, maybe two? My Josie uses the stairs by the bed all the time now, and she's getting up there, too; she's sixteen this year.
