This was mums sweet girl Puss. She is my angel cat who looks after me.
Mum realized when she looked back over photos that we like to sit in the same space in the garden. I of course, have to sit in a few more weeds.
Tomorrow is a special day for me, and my Aussie pals
Pablo ,
Huffle Mawson and especially for
Fui and Suey . It is ANZAC day, our own poppy day. We remember all the brave men and women who have fought for our countries.
In the first world war, New Zealand and Australian soldiers were sent to the coast Gallipoli inTurkey, to try to fight for a small area of land that would allow access to an important supply route. The penninsula, an area of rocky outcrops was defended hard by the Turks, and this battle that started in the morning of April 25 1915 played an important role is shaping three nations, Turkey, Australia and New Zealand.
In 1995, I was lucky enough to be able to visit Caanakle, and the battlefields, cemeteries and Gallipoli coast. It was a perfect sunny late summer day, and everyone was moved by the graves of those young men, who died so far from home. Especially when you think that many of them were under 20, and so many of their famalies would have been unable to visit their graves.
Turkey was a wonderful holiday destination, the people were always welcoming and gracious. We laid our flowers on the graves and wept tears for all of those who laid buried there. Tomorrow, and every day we remember them.
