Ocean of Green

Mum pulled up some of these weeds over the Easter weekend. Here in NZ, we get Friday, Sat, Sun and Mon as a four day weekend. We didn't realize that our friends in the US and some other countries have to work Good Friday and Easter Monday.
That also means for us, it is a shorter week than normal, so we are yet again hanging out til Friday. Mum usually works lots of shift work and weekends, but has been lucky to have a few more weekends off than normal, so she is not complaining and trying her best to pretend she is a normal worker, who works Mon-Fri. Of course, though she still has to get through work 9-5 on Thurs, then on-call Thurs 5pm- 8am Friday and shift Friday night 2.30pm-10.30pm. So mum asks you to spare a thought for all the healthcare workers like her, who seldom get an evening at home, or a decent nights sleep.
Have a great week everybuddy.

  1. Mum knows just how your mum feels as she works a lot of shifts and on calls, no time at all ff over Easter as her rota fell that way.. Never mind I get extra snuggle time when she is home. I love you in the sea of green.. Hugs GJ xx

  2. Hang in there with the shifts, Poppy's Mom. We have huge appreciation and love for the dedicated healthcare workers who make sure there are always qualified people at the hospitals to take care of sick or hurt peeples. Thank you!

  4. Our mum has lots of respect for the health care workers of the world. She couldn't do it. Apart from the incredibly tough job, she'd probably get sacked for napping behind desks with the disrupted schedules.

  9. heehee, poppy you looks adorable in all that greens. yeah it stinks here in the US sometimes, we don't get all the leisure time other countries seem to. here in america it is work-work-work 24/7, especially here in NY. i have to say, it drives me crazy that i can not have my mommeh home with me NEARLY has much as i want.

  12. We sends purrs that your mum gets the rest she needs. My daddy used to works swing shifts for the fire department and we not ever understands how he could do that. Is very hard on the system to get turned off and on at different times.
We remembers to send special purrs on Thursdays, that is a VERY long day fur your mum!
We appreciates that she is there to take care of all the sick and hurt beans. She has a big hart to gives herself for them.
