Saaaaaturday

 Last night mum , her niece and friend stayed up and watched the royal wedding.  It was nice to see such a wonderful happy event, and the girls were impressed.





Today I helped mum read the paper about the events.  Because the paper was soo large, mum spread it out on the bed, and I helped her anchor it down, in case the wind swept in and blew it away.



This afternoon, mum took Miss Belle to the airport and she flew back home with her family, so the house is seems empty and quiet without her.



Mum and I both went out and enjoyed a sprinkle of warm autumn sun, which was lovely but must be a sign that more bad weather is on the way for next week.

Royal Wedding Watchers

We'll be watching tonight.  We are 12 hours ahead of London in New Zealand, so it is evening viewing for us.  It is a sunny day, so Miss Belle and mum are off to get supplies for their nights viewing.  We hope you all have a cosy spot on the couch to sit and watch with your peoples and you don't have to be awake at early o'clock.

12:40am Sat
We are off to bed after watching the wedding.  We had a lovely evening, with a bit of a picnic in the living room.  Mum made special pizza, and had cupcakes, and lots of treats.  William and Catherine looked happy and we wish them a wonderful life together!!

What a lovely start to the weekend!!

Chores

Mum and Miss Belle, her 14 year old niece are watching Worlds Strictest Parents, where delinquent UK teenagers  are sent to live with a US family with strict parents.  We notice that all the wayward kids have no chores at home.  Miss Belle helps her folks out and has a job at the weekends and school holidays helping at her grandparents motel, every morning.  I  always help my mum out, here I am helping with the washing by drying the pillowcases.

Rain

More rain today, but we got up early and went off the movies to keep warm.   Sarahs key was a welcome diversion.  We have popped up this old photo of me, as it wasn't really a day for picture snapping.  While most of you are welcoming in spring warmer weather we are piling up the quilts and revving up the heater as it is getting cold here.

RIP Sweet Praline

The Cat Blogosphere has lost another of its awesome sweeties.  RIP Sweet Praline - we know that you will be waiting at the bridge.

ANZAC Day

Today is Easter Monday and ANZAC Day here in NZ, that is the day where we remember all the men and women who have fought for us over the years.  We are also thinking of our family who got up at 4am to attend dawn parade in Rotorua.  Here in Wellington, we had a sleep in and take it easy Monday.

Happy Bunny Day

Happy Easter Everybuddy - we hope you have all got to have time with your friends and family.  This photo is an oldie but a goodie, it still makes us laugh.   With a quiet and rainy day we have had sleep ins and videos, and lots of taking it easy.

Window Cat

Sometimes I call out to my mum when I am outside.  I like her to know that I am doing patrol around my house.

I am being very brave with my visitor and not hiding in the garden.  I have been sitting in the lounge while Miss Belle is in the bedroom.

Easter Preperations

Dear Miss Belle,
I am in your spare bedroom, testing out the electric blanket for you, waiting for mum to make the bed.  We are looking forward to our week together.

PS sombuddies were asking about Easter break here.  It is in the middle of our autumns weather, so no daffodils although some of our flowers are blossoming (they are confused by the unseasonable warm). 

We get a four day holiday for Easter and all shops are closed on Good Friday, Easter Sunday and only allowed to open after 1pm on Easter Monday.  Restaurants and movie theatres are open though, so it is nice to take a break from shopping.  So mum got to spend a day lounging around with me.

Hello Holiday!!

Mum found these old pictures on the computer, and thought they were great and can't remember posting them.

 Tonight our holidays start, so she has been busy, as the supermarkets shut tonight, and mum says that people were stressed, it was as though people thought they would be shut for a week.  We are stocked with fancy feasts, lots of breads and Easter Chocolate.  The washing machine is going crazy, as she wants to get the chores out of the way.  But, there is a pile of books waiting.

We hope that you all have time to spend with your loved ones and a bit of a break coming up.

Wordless Wednesday - Shy

Clearing

The weather cleared a bit today, I got to sit outside and mum got to walk to and from walk in the sunshine.  Mum says only a day and half of work to go and then she gets ten days off with me!!!  We are looking forward to our break together.  Hope you and your beans are getting an Easter break too.  It is a four day holiday here in NZ, and mum gets the rest of the week off, as Miss Belle is coming to visit.

All Clear

I have got the all clear at home, Gdad hit the road on a cold and stormy day to head home.  So I have reclaimed the lounge, and have curled up on the chair.  Mum says not to get too cosy though, as Easter is coming up, and we might have more visitors.

Sleepy Sunday

Sunday I snoozed inside while mum took Gdad out to Yum Cha.  They had lots of dumplings and then went and looked at some shops and went to the movies.  They saw Get Low, and then went and groceries.  Mum cooked roast lamb and veg, as it is a cool and dark Sunday evening.  She let me have some fancy feast and best of all, some chicken temptations on my bed.  So now I am napping contentedly.

Alert

It has rained alllllll day today, and I have been hiding from Gdad in the garden, so I have been getting very wet.  This evening, I have decided to relax and call a truce, and am dry and hiding in the bedroom.  I am on alert though, and as long as he doesn't try and touch me it will be ok.

Christening

In honour of a guest arriving today, I did an honorary vomit.  This is the first vomit experience in the new house, and my mum appreciated having to clean up all around my cat door (I did try and take it outside), and in the living room, on the floor right about where I am seated in this picture.

That will teach her for telling somebuddy that  I hadn't been sick yet in my new house.

Busy Now

Mum and I have a couple of days to share with our Gdad who is coming to stay with us.   He is going to help mum get rid of some boxes and share Chinese foods.  Woohoo!!

Boring Day

Not up to much today, mum was at work, I was sleeping, she came home and fed me, I went outside for a while.

Neighbours

        While I was trying to snooze in the backyard yesterday, the neighbours were up on their roof throwing bricks off and fiddling with the aerial.  As you can see they are up high, and mum says that she would never climb up that high on the house.

      Me neither, I'm going to stay down here on the flat.

Snoozarama

                      This is how I spent my Sunday - on a snoozarama session in the backgarden.

                        The wooden table is the perfect place for soaking up a touch of warmth.

                                I can also watch out for any introoders who might be on my patch.

                                   or thinking of sneaking in my catdoor to eat my biscuits.

                                           I have a good life!!

Feeding Station

This is where the magic happens - the food magic!! I have my water bowl, my biscuits bowl and my fancy feasts dish too. Mum tries not to feed me too much, or leave too much out as other cats have figured out how to come and steal my foods.

Best Seat in the House

It always pays for you to find a good seat, near the heater. As you can see, my new perch may be slightly flammable, so it is only to used with people supervision.

Difficultys

We are having troubles getting blogger to load a photo tonight, so we are using this one from last year. It shows our spring bedding, which I am highlighting nicely. Now autumn has started we have loaded up the blankies and dragged the heater into the bedroom. We are glad that most of our friends are welcoming the sun back, and pulling off the flannel sheets. You enjoy the sunshines kids - it's been a long hard winter for you all.

Changing Seasons

Mum has put my grey merino blankie on top of my princess bedding, so that I am snuggly and warm as the seasons start to change. We hope you all have a cozy sleeping place in your house too.
